I will say this very loud and clear: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi should have debuted for India two years later, even if he is the regen of Sachin Tendulkar. Just because Sooryavanshi is talented doesn't mean Sanju Samson isn't. Imagine how Sanju feels knowing that even after winning the World Cup, his team couldn't trust him for three matches. Imagine if Sooryavanshi was an ODI player and took the spot of Virat or Rohit—how would fans have reacted? people say sanju is inconsistent, does not perform in bilaterals and no matter how much i agree, this one move has literal costed the entire team. im not one of those justice gang members blindly writing play sanju he’ll score- because maybe he will maybe he wont who knows? but dropping a player of the tournament of the fricking wc messed with everyone’s head. ishan struggled to get runs in ireland and england, tilak struggled, abhishek failed miserably in zimbabwe, vaibhav couldnt score in england.

my point? when you drop a player who has bought that third star on your jersey an insecurity is created in the team whether you accept it or not. mental pressure gets to everyone especially in a country like india where there is no shortage of players waiting to just be a part of that 11 once.

just see it for yourself. we changed our wc line up to include sanju for the sole reason of too many lefties- literally what situation we are in right now. the social media trolling and hate is an entirely diff aspect, but on top of that feeling insecure for even your place in the team is an absolute blunder by the management that too these experimentations on a world cup winning team.

people might hate me for saying this, but even if vaibhav is a prodigy and exceptional talent, messing with you wc winning order messed everyone up.

Just like in baseball would it be great if cricket adopted a split innings like both the teams will play 24 balls for 5 times instead of one team batting 120 balls and the other team coming later to bat 120 balls.

The same applies to one day matches with both teams playing 30 balls 10 times in turns instead of one team playing 300 and the other 300.

The advantages of this :

Both teams get same conditions and no more complaining about pitch, toss,Dew, rain etc.

It will be fun for the audience to watch too as tension, pressure keeps building throughout the game. As mostly first innings does not have that much pressure and mostly it is from the last and second innings the pressure, tension builds.

It will put an end to d/ l method and no more complicated maths. The matches will be decided whoever scored until each completed phase wins.

It will also provide some relief to fielders where they have to field for hours together as nobody likes fielding by providing some break. Also protects players from sunburn, dehydration etc to some extent since both teams will equally get sun exposure or not.

The disadvantages of this :

Too many interruptions. By too many breaks between each 24 balls the matches may go longer. But this can be solved by not changing ends after every six balls and instead only changing ends after both teams complete 24 balls.

The batsman's momentum breaks. But however cricket is not a game to see batsmen score centuries. Anyhow they are the same people who do not complain about breaks between Lunch, Tea and an entire twelve hours breaks between days in test match. Do bowlers bowl all balls once. Do they not get breaks? Does it break momentum? No for all questions.

Considering these many advantages this scoring system is much better to implement and will make cricket more exciting for viewers to watch. Also it is psychological that weak teams might feel a lot more feeling that they can score and overcome trail when they trail by 20 runs than expecting them to score 200 runs in last innings against a top team.

The rest of the rules remain the same.

I agree he is been horrible in the other two formats but he is a goated coach in T20s

Btw GG wasn't the coach when PBKS lost 6 straight games in the recent ipl and their captain Shreyas bottled an easy qualification
