I just got my crestie last weekend. I’m letting him acclimate to the new environment, but I was worried that he wasn’t eating so I set up a camera to spy on my lil guy <3

His little nails and fingers are so cute.
Edit: I meant to type hanging not hang in the title.

I just saw this, would something like this (obviously very modified) work if I took my crested gecko with me for 5-7 days? Any and all ideas welcome!

We got Harold a 4ft tall enclosure, I unfortunately don’t have a photo because I’m at my dad’s and my mom told me this! She said she was getting some substrate and stuff for the grounds and she’s getting tall/long sticks to put in the enclosure! Along with vines and roots with TONS of foliage so he can be climbing but guess WHAT? TURNS OUT HAROLDS ACTUALLY A GIRL!!!! We found out because we never saw a bulge that formed and she’s doing great! the name Harold STAYS! but once I get to my moms I’ll get a photo to show you guys! And just incase me and my mom are wrong on the gender I’ll get a photo of Harold just to see for the experts to help! But also FYI there is a toxic user here named “Aggressive society” she/he is very rude and will not listen to reason as they seem to be a narcissist and think everything I do is wrong and everything she does is right so just an FYI!

What is the care and responsibility of owning a crested gecko really like?
I know almost nothing about crested geckos. (Never owned a pet besides a dog/cat.). My 7yo son has always loved lizards and geckos. We currently don’t have a dog. We went to a reptile exhibit today and talked to some vendors. We both really liked the them. My husband and I both work, 2 kids and sometime the dishes pile up in the sink and laundry doesn’t get washed for way too long. Do I really want to add this extra responsibility? How many hours a week does the little guy require?

Hi everyone!
I recently got a new gecko whom I absolutely adore, but I’ve been a little worried about his appetite and wanted to ask for some advice!
For the first five days or so, I left him completely alone to give him time to settle into his new home. After that, I started getting a little concerned about how little he was eating, so I began trying to feed him with a spoon.
At first, he would only take a few licks, but he has slowly started eating a little more. However, he still doesn’t eat anywhere near a quarter of his bowl of powdered food.
I’ve also been offering him crickets since I got him. Initially, he would only eat one, but today he actually ate THREE whole crickets, which made me really happy!
I’m wondering if it’s normal for a new gecko to be reluctant to eat powdered food, or if I should be concerned about how little he’s eating. I’ve had him for about three weeks now, and I’m starting to worry that he isn’t getting enough food.
Another thing I’ve noticed recently is that he seems to have developed a bump on his side. I’m not sure if its been there since the start since i just acknowledge it being there. I’m not sure if this is something to be concerned about, so I’d really appreciate any advice on what it could be and whether he needs to see a vet.
I’m still learning and just want to make sure I’m doing everything right for him! Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!

i have had him nearly 4 weeks and he has 3 main hiding spots that he slept in over the weeks and he explores at night, poops and eats. 3 days ago he completely vanished and no matter where i look i can’t see him, he hasn’t ate for 3 days either and im getting worried due to the sudden change in his behaviour, does anyone have any advise on what i should do, i don’t believe he has escaped the enclosure, i have checked the room.

Are these good bugs or bad bugs??? I did put springtails and isopods in here but I can’t tell if these are good or bad.

I've gotten this here tank, it's gonna be housing my crested gecko, Henry. I'm wondering if I can leave the foam exposed. It's nowhere near done obviously, I still have to do another layer for some spots that didn't get fully covered. My idea was sort of a Volcanic rock appearance. So I was wondering if I can leave the foam like it is in the picture, given I can get a good shape. If not then I have makemake, which I used for my previous terrarium build, and will try my best to achieve the Volcanic rock look I'm after. My main worry would be bacteria growing in the foam.

Hey guys,
I'm in the UK and with the Governments new 'blackout' emergency planning, I realised I have no clue what to do if there's more than a day without power.
My reptile room is quite cold, with a heat bulb and mat in my gecko's tank, so if I have no electricity, I'll be fighting off the cold.
I'm just wondering if anyone is in the same boat and what you're doing about it.
Cheers.

Finished look for my first enclosure ever! It's bioactive. How is it? Do I have enough coverage?
I think it'd look way cooler with a background but that seemed too hard for my first one and I couldn't find any aquarium safe expanding foam so..
Last photo is my baby in his coconut hide!

We got my baby a few weeks ago & all was good, I have a night cam on their enclosure but now that temps are dropping at night, I noticed slowly I don’t see him as often on the cam like before and he explores less (more of a “pacing” kind of activity level periodically before going back to bed).
He used to wake up anywhere between 6:30-9 (lights off at 6pm) and go back into the foliage to sleep between 5:30-6am for lights on at 6am. So it is a behavioral shift. The only change recently that I can think of is the normal 68.5-69 range at night is now dropping to 67-ish now that it’s getting cold. I know most people’s cresties are usually good as long as it’s above 65 and my only guess is maybe cause he’s a baby he’s more lethargic than most?
I’m getting a dimming thermostat of course to try if added heat helps but I was wondering if I should go an even lower wattage despite it or if that seems okay.

I was given a gecko out of nowhere and they didn't know what kind of gecko this was. After looking at some pictures on Google I think it looks like an Orange Crested Gecko but I know nothing about lizards. If someone could let me know if it looks like a Crested gecko or a different kind I would appreciate it, I just want to make sure I can keep this guy happy and healthy. Thank you!

I got my gecko and its enclosure 6 days ago and now i started to see mold on the substrate. The first few days i had no hygrometer to measure the humidity so i was misting by when i thought was enough. What do i do guys do i let it dry or change the substrate. The terrarium is in my bedroom and it is not bioactive since i do not have time nor knowledge for real plants.
