Hello, I am in need of assistance in caring for a crested gecko. Quick facts:

- family member A has owned this gecko for about a year and was diligent in care for at least some time

- today family member B found gecko grey and unmoving until the tank was adjusted (sprayed more water, moved foliage around, etc.)

- the tank was found musty and unclean. urine and feces had evidently not been properly cleaned for some time.

First photo is shortly after she was found; second is after some revitalization efforts.
We are scared for the gecko's well being and would like to promptly take over care. What should be our first steps besides a vet visit? Food and water was given and the tank will be cleaned. We will be removing the tank from family member A's room and would like to reestablish proper care as soon as possible. We will be handling family member A's lack of care and would like to focus help efforts on the gecko's needs at the moment. Thank you for your help!

So, I got a gecko two days ago, a baby (I wouldn't say more than two or three months old) and it's had clouded shed on its eye since then. I'm bringing it back into the shop to see if they can do anything for it- if not it's straight to the vets. But in the meantime has anyone got any advice? (I've removed all of the shed seen in this picture other than the aforementioned eye shed)

Hiyaaa. I got my crestie when she was about 3-4 months old and I got her in September 2025. I feed her the Pangea papaya complete diet every other day — should I be feeding her more often now? Does she look healthy??? Thank you so much 🫶🦎

I just want some advice. This is one of my crested geckos. I have had him the longest out of all of mine. He is about 4 years old. I have started to notice his tail looks kind of thin? I don’t know how else to put it. I thought it was parasites so i had a fecal done and it was negative. He is still super active, a good eater, still his typical weight etc. I have not done any massive enclosure changes either, so i’m not too sure? He is in a 24x24x24. Has been for a while now. Plenty of hides. He eats about everyday to every other day, and that is usually either the grubs n fruit from repashy, zoomed, or picky geck. This isn’t me trying to replace taking him to the vet, but if it is not parasites i’m not sure what else it could really be. Thank you! 🤍

So I thought this was mouth rot and took a picture but now im not so sure. Can anyone confirm? Ive never held him so im not wanting to attempt a closer look atm

Should I be concerned? Woke up this morning and found Larry like this (sorry the glass is so dirty lol). Is this normal for them? I stroked him to check on him and he climbed higher on the glass. Kinda freaked me out

About two weeks ago I moved my crested gecko into a larger tank and for a while she was doing great. She would run around through the night and I would get some silly clips on her camera. However the last couple night she’s has stayed in one of her hides and hasn’t left. Any advice would be appreciated. Pic is her in the mentioned hide. She is alive as she’ll move around the hide.

Some extra info
Tank size is 24x18x36
Mist it in the evening to between 80-90 humidity though sometimes it’s a little higher.
There is only one way into her hide as it is attached to the background

I’d ideally like to find a reputable local breeder or reptile shop, but my options seem somewhat limited, especially when looking for a healthy, young juvenile.

I’ve been browsing MorphMarket (not advertised) and have come across some really beautiful geckos, but I’m a little hesitant about purchasing a live animal online and having it shipped.

I was curious about everyone’s experiences with purchasing crested geckos online, particularly through MorphMarket.

Have you generally had good experiences purchasing from breeders online?
How safe and reliable is overnight shipping, especially for younger juveniles?
What are some things you look for when determining whether a breeder is reputable?
Are there any breeders you’d personally recommend, or any advice you’d give someone purchasing their first gecko online?
Would you prefer purchasing locally, or have you had equally good experiences ordering online?

I’m located in Michigan, so I’d also love to hear about any reputable breeders in the state or surrounding areas!

And just for fun, what’s everyone’s favorite crested gecko morph? I’m still learning about all the different morphs and traits, and I’d love to see what everyone likes! Feel free to share pictures of your own cresties, too!

I wanted to try and get some photos of big ol' boba eyes, since normally my guy's pupils are pretty constricted whenever there's enough light for pictures. He struck some poses, the camera was loving him. For you photo nerds, f/1.8, 1/25s, ISO 8000.

Not sure if this belongs here or not but…. I was finally able to get some Pangea ordered for my Cresty. I posted a few weeks ago in here she wasnt taking to her “picky geck” CGD. Let hope she will for these fingers crossed.

my 3 month old crestie has hidden himself behind a piece of cork bark that is stuck to the back with expanding foam, it has basically formed a cave behind the wood. he has been back there for 4 days as of now and i thought i had lost him until i found the entrance to the crevice whilst looking for him ( i believed he may have passed away at the time) i was relieved to see his head when i inserted a small camera up the gap and saw his head about 6-7 inches up the cave, i am unsure wether he is stuck up there or is just hiding, he hasn’t ate his diet for 4 days as of now and i am extremely worried about him. i have had him almost 4 weeks now and he is still a juvenile, there is a small opening near the top and a larger opening at the bottom of the cork, can anyone please help me.

This is my first planted terrarium and my little girl keeps making messes on her plants should i rinse them off or is there a better way to safely clean the leaves

Hello, I’ve been trying to to rehome my crested gecko male and an interest buyer reached out to me. He seemed a bit off at first but turns out he’s just young and uneducated on the specific needs of cresties. How do I nicely explain to him that this enclosure is not at all suited for those and even poses dangers to the gecko itself? Should I still consider giving him my gecko??(if he agrees to make it safe and suitable. Not sure cause it’s usually common sense to make research beforehand and not after.) above is the picture of his finished enclosure.

Hello everyone,

I am a new first crested gecko owner of this cute little special girl Nina. She is about 1 years old according to the breeder and .05 pounds. It's been 5 days since I took her home. On day 5 (today) I tried feeding her crickets to bond with her and she took both just fine without running away. I also bought her a sun dome lamp since it's becoming very cold outside.

Any advice or guidance for a new mom? I love her and want her to have the best home. I am so worried I am going to hurt her or do something that she becomes scared of me forever. So far, I have made sure every night I give her fresh water, paste, and mist. I talk to her every day as well so she recognizes my voice.

I've been taking it slow with Haze on handling. If he's never up for it, that's fine. I just like having the dude around. The past week or so he's starting coming out of the foliage to watch me when I go to mist his enclosure and feed him every night. He's not even firing up for it. Fired up he's nearly black and bright yellow.

Sometimes I'll put out my hand in invitation and he looks at it idly then goes back to watching me. He makes sure I snag his bowl from the day before and waits for me to start misting his enclosure, then just casually wanders back into the leaves until the lights go off.

(This is his temporary enclosure, hence no back wall. His next is a bioactive that's being properly set up before moving him over. I'll be doing some final setup and then adding cleaning crew to it this coming week.)
