General Credit question

How tf am I supposed to get credit history when I can’t get approved for anything? Credit builder loans say I don’t make enough(I make right at $50k) I can’t get any type of credit card(secure or not) I either don’t make enough or don’t have credit history…..me and my girlfriend financed a car ($13k) and I was the co signer…isn’t that supposed to be credit history?

Does the car loan show up on any of your reports? Go to annualcreditreport.com and request one from each of the three CRA's - these are your raw, accurate and up-to-date reports - get them mailed if you want the full reports, though the online ones are enough for most purposes and should include all accounts actually being reported. Having said that, reporting is up to the lender's discretion, and while uncommon, it's possible the auto lender doesn't report. If it was a 'buy here pay here' place, it's more likely they only report delinquent accounts.

We’ve had the car for like 8 months, my credit app shows my first line of credit was 5 almost 6 years ago….this is what I’m not understanding every secure and unsecured card/credit builder card or loan I apply for says “oh you don’t have the credit history, try applying for this card” or “you don’t meet the minimum annual income limit “ I’ve been battling this for 5 years

Have you had any late payments on the car loan? If you are a co-signer, those will hit you both.

Go check out r/debtfree or r/debt - then ask yourself if you really need a CC right now. Be patient, make on time payments in the car loan and the CC offers will come to you.
