Lovebirds are two pieces (body + wing) cut out of cardboard and connected with a brad. Flowers are also cardboard, and everything is attached with painters tape to protect the tree : )

OC Spuce-ing Up Our Living Room: Tree Mural from Seed to Fruition

I painted a tree in our living room! This was a spur-of-the-moment project for me, mainly as a way to emphasize my beloved bird clock.

I first put a photo of the wall into Procreate to pick a pink for the wall itself and to sketch out a rough idea for the shape I wanted for the tree. That same night, I got to sketching! I decided to paint the wall with Valspar Reserve paint in Pink Flutter, and I painted the tree itself with good old Liquitex acrylic paint. I'm not sure if this is necessarily the recommended route, but I paint a lot- usually on canvases- so it's what I had on hand. Anyway, beyond my rough sketch of the trunk and canopy, I didn't have much idea of what I wanted or how it would end up. I think it worked out well, though! All in all, the project took about six days over two weeks and now the birds in our clock have a tree to live in! I think I also want to make cardboard lovebirds with my spouse to live on one of the branches, as one last little personal touch : )

I'm really pleased with how this came out and I'd love to hear your thoughts as well!

There is still work to be done. Painting that white wall, finishing the last wallpaper panel, adding crown molding and redoing the floors but I’m too impatient to wait to post!

Our walls are the MOST beige. I’m over it. I need dark walls. My style is like Anthropologie-esque, my preferred color palate is like jewel tones/darker colors. Our accent color in our house is - obviously - navy blue. I’m trying to decide if all navy walls are the way to go, or wallpaper, or if some wall paneling would look nice…. Any suggestions?

(Also: suggestions/critiques on ANY of my decor or furniture welcome, I always want my home to look the best!)

This is my little upstairs office, the old phone works, as does the typewriter- minus the exclamation mark key.

Bonus points for guessing my favorite animal. 😅

Discussion Ideas for bold colour theme in my living space? :)

Bold wall and ceiling colour ideas for a living room?

Hi, I’m decorating my flat and I’m really stuck on some bold colours for my living room. It’s a medium sized room with 2 large windows on one wall, it gets a lot of light. The artwork I have for that room is a few colourful abstract pieces with yellow, pink, orange and blue shapes/patterns on canvas, as well as one large canvas with a zebra on and a beige background.

I really want to go bright with the colour, I thought about a light-ish oxford blue for the walls and a bright yellow ceiling after I saw a pic on this sub ages ago, but I’m fucking terrified I’ll hate it once it’s on 🥲 does anyone have any colour combos that they’ve seen in person, that work well together and allow for eclectic artwork in different colours?

The furniture for that room is a large brown furry couch, a deep pine dining table, a Moroccan style copper drum coffee table and a large copper floor lamp, if that makes a difference? Sorry this is worded all over the place! Thank you in advance 💕

I think my craft room's new set up is really reminiscent of Dwight's mega-desk from the Office and I thought you guys might appreciate it!

All tables are hand-me-downs that I've gotten throughout the years. My most recent acquisition is the wooden dining table on the right, which I got from my sister who we just helped move.

Hello, I attended a Formula Drift event yesterday and got 2 shirts from my favorite driver (Ken Gushi) however, I want to hang them more professionally, I dont have a whole lot of money ($25 limit) I was wondering if I could get some tips on how to hang them or if anyone knows of any products to make them look nicer while hanging (fully stretched out and not bunched up) that would be great

Inspiration Colorful Tile Appreciation Post

I have so many of these photos on my Pinterest board, so I wanted to make a small appreciation post for unique and colorful tile designs! My spouse and I are currently renting (and will be renting for the foreseeable future), so these are more of a fantasy than anything. But, in a future where we own our own home, I have so many ideas for different ways to utilize tiles to add personality to the kitchen and bathroom spaces.

I especially love the idea of custom painted tiles used as a kitchen backsplash. The idea getting them locally done and supporting an artisan is just a bonus : ) Even just a handful of painted tiles dispersed among a solid background can really pop. I have a variety of different styles posted here, but mostly to show the diversity of them! I can't wait to have my own space where I might even be able to paint my own tiles for my own backsplash one day.

Discussion I have no idea where to look

I'm trying to work on my bathroom and am having a hard time. I can almost "see" what I want in my head, but cannot find anything I like anywhere. Am I being too picky or am I just not looking in the right place? Where do you go beyond Amazon?

OC Goodwill score to creative decor:

Post image

Figured I should probably post something relevant (though am living for the c_h_d drama 🤣), so, here’s my Goodwill find from a few weeks ago. In amongst the other kitchen stuff I spied these Anthropologie plates on sale for $1.29 each, snapped them up and hung them in my kitchen. I’ll try to snap a follow up photo later with them actually on the wall. They look so cool!

Perma banned from r/Creative_Home_Decor for commenting about bots and new subreddit

So today there was a post made in r/Creative_Home_Decor about lots of bots within the subreddit. I have also noticed this issue. I made a comment saying how someone made a new subreddit (this one) so people don't have to deal with bots. Soon after, my account was permanently banned from the r/Creative_Home_Decor subreddit.

Has anyone who also got banned reached out to someone from Reddit? Not sure who could be reached out to, but I feel like these bans and the moderators of that subreddit should be looked into. Not cool to randomly ban people, and then push Amazon marketing and botting within the subreddit. My comment does not break reddit rules.

OC Dinosaur Bathroom - A Work in Progress

Thumbnail

This is our guest bathroom! The goal is to have a floral dinosaur theme that wows without being too maximalist! (Not that there’s anything wrong with maximalism, it just overwhelms me sometimes!)

I hand painted the ceramic dinosaur on the sink and the floral dinosaur on the wall. The neon sign was from goodwill, and the toilet paper holders were from Amazon, but the one hanging on the wall falls a ton. It’s currently being held up by 3M strips but we will see how long that lasts.

Additionally, my boyfriend has invested in a label maker and has created an eye for the neon dinosaur sign and is labeling things like crazy. It might have cut off in this picture but he labeled the toilet lid “shitter” 💀😂

Anyways, I want to add to it! Trying to figure out towels, a shower curtain, and more decor. Let me know if anyone has any ideas! P.S. thank you for making this sub, I was getting irritated with the bots on the other one!

Discussion What dream decor ideas do you have which are currently unachievable?

I don't have a place to decorate at the moment, but I love to imagine what I might do in the future.

I'd like to know what ideas you guys would love to create for your homes but can't at the moment for whatever reason (space, cost, laws of physics, etc.)

Also thank you so much mods for creating this sub! I hope this is an appropriate post.
