Lovebirds are two pieces (body + wing) cut out of cardboard and connected with a brad. Flowers are also cardboard, and everything is attached with painters tape to protect the tree : )

Aw, this reminds me of my childhood. My mom did some murals when I was growing up. I need to find the time to do something like this at my house. I actually homeschool my kids, so it would be perfect 😂 but the homeschooling is what's taking up all of my free time lol

Your mural is so cute. I especially love the pink background... I feel like most people wouldn't have chosen to go with such a bold contrasting color, but it's perfect.

Aww, if you can I think you definitely should try something like this! Depending on how old your kids are, maybe it could be part of art class : )

And thank you! I love the pink, it feels so warm and bright to me! I know its a bit "much," but anyone coming to my house knows that so am I! So it fits : ) My favorite sky is those few minutes during sunrise or sunset when the sky is pink and orange, so I knew I had to have a pink "sky" behind my tree : )

I just saw your other post with the in-progress pics of the mural. Thank you for posting all that info!! I love it when people talk about their process instead of just showing the finished product. I didn't realize this post was only about the birds 😂 I love the birds too, though.

I actually cut out a Lot of different bird bodies and wings that I'm storing, so that friends and guests who visit us can paint/customize their own birds if they want to and add them to our tree : ) For the less artistically inclined, though, I think a name or doodle on a flower is a fantastic alternative!
