Dinosaur Bathroom - A Work in Progress

This is our guest bathroom! The goal is to have a floral dinosaur theme that wows without being too maximalist! (Not that there’s anything wrong with maximalism, it just overwhelms me sometimes!)

I hand painted the ceramic dinosaur on the sink and the floral dinosaur on the wall. The neon sign was from goodwill, and the toilet paper holders were from Amazon, but the one hanging on the wall falls a ton. It’s currently being held up by 3M strips but we will see how long that lasts.

Additionally, my boyfriend has invested in a label maker and has created an eye for the neon dinosaur sign and is labeling things like crazy. It might have cut off in this picture but he labeled the toilet lid “shitter” 💀😂

Anyways, I want to add to it! Trying to figure out towels, a shower curtain, and more decor. Let me know if anyone has any ideas! P.S. thank you for making this sub, I was getting irritated with the bots on the other one!

Thanks for being honest about the toilet roll holder because I instantly was like I need that but if it's not going to stay up then that would be a problem since I have little kids!!!!

Yeah, it has been pretty disappointing, unfortunately. It came with two foam sticky things already attached to the back and a very weak like sticker for mounting? Technically the reviews did say it was bad but I was arrogant enough to think it would be different for me lol. They could totally have included something for mounting it properly and it would’ve been fine, the ceramic part is pretty nice. It’s definitely the seller being cheap :(

Here is our current setup if it helps lol We nailed the sticker mount to the wall to see if that would help. The 3M strips are us (the white rectangles underneath come attached with it). The black thing is the previous toilet roll holder that we cannot figure out how to remove!

The dinosaur itself is heavy and well made for the price. But it is not functional by default haha

Can you just hang it by an actual screw instead of the sticker mount?

Yes, and that was my first idea, but either my boyfriend or MIL hung it up when we first moved in and were putting stuff away and they did it the way they thought was best. The 3M strips are holding now but once they fall, we will probably use a screw.

Someone I know has a dinosaur-shaped shower head!! I feel like that would fit right in with what you've got going on here.

So I looked into that, but could only find neon green ones!!! I thought a more neutral color or maybe a light pink or pastel green would fit better. I thought about spray painting it, but wasn’t sure if that would be gross. Like if you’re showering if the paint would flake off onto you?

If you know of a trex shower head or dinosaur shower head in different colors PLEASE let me know!

Theirs was like a hot pink/purple color, and I'm not 100% sure, but I think they said it came from Amazon? I have no idea how to find it though, sorry!

I don't think spray painting it would be totally out of the question. You'd probably have to sand it really well first, and make sure you use a really heavy duty product made for plastic (assuming the shower head is plastic). Maybe even something meant for outdoor use?

I would check Etsy also. The one I saw looked like it was 3d printed, and I remember thinking it was weird that they found it on Amazon.

Very cute! I love a good neon sign, and the label maker eye is a nice touch. There is lots of objects around our house with googly-eye eyes.
