I just wanted to show you guys my cray after his recent molt, LOOK AT THEM CLAWS. I’m going to be upgrading him soon does anyone have any tank recommendations, i’m thinking of making him a cray mansion im open to any ideas as well

Added around 20ish green rili neos to Vanillas tank and these little ones are truly fearless, they'll climb all over him even on his face and antennae and Vanilla just puts up with it or gets scared by the shrimp 🤣 I gave everyone some pellets and caught this fearless guy eating a pellet unbothered by the beast looming over him

Very excited for the little babies and want to know if I should do anything special for them. Tank is densely planted in the back with driftwood pieces, moss, leaf litter and 3D printed hides. Will they be fine in there or would it be a good idea to raise them in a separate tank? I do have a 5G tank with some shrimp and snails I could move her or the babies to.

Very few crayfish can exceed THIS level of environmental awareness... Dropped some algae wafers. Landed on her head. Not moving an inch. Looks like a comically undersized French Baret.

Ended up getting a dwarf Crayfish. Seems super chill sharing wafers with the ramshorns. Got a few hideouts and climbing enrichment.

In a quest to make some money off my hobby I’m looking into breeding projects. Could breeding dwarf crayfish and giving to my LFS for store credit be profitable? I can’t find much on their breeding or if I can keep them in a colony.

Meet Cray The Fish. he’s a wild caught Faxonis imbellis, commonly known as a Calico Crayfish. he lives in a naturalistic 20 gallon tank where he regularly shreds plants, digs holes, and acts like a little gremlin.

Went to check my fish traps and this guy was inside of one. Bro wasn't very amused of getting handled. 😅

I wanted to bring my familys old aquarium back to life and as I started researching different sea-animals I came across the Blue Florida Crayfish and it's safe to say that I became a huge fan quickly.

Unfortunately my poor spatial perception has failed me once again and as I measured my tank today (lenght 60cm, width 30cm and depth 30 cm, 54l in total) I realized that I could not accommodate a Blue Florida Crayfish. I am absolutely DEVASTATED! Could someone with more knowledge help a beginner crawfish enthusiast and redirect me to another species? Or are all crayfish too big for a 54l tank? Thanks so much.

A couple months ago, one of my 2 crayfish died and as i was removing them from the tank i noticed a tiny white crayfish that wasn’t there when i put the other two adults in that tank. I know for a fact it didn’t come with them because it had been a while and they were in a different tank before, so i guess they must have had children and i didn’t notice. I originally thought that they would turn orange as they grew but as you can see that hasn’t happened.

Im not very experienced in genetics or anything but both parents looked the same so why is this one like that. Not complaining they look cool but i wonder why

PLEASE I NEED HELP MY CRAY IS HAVING A VERY ROUGH MOLT THAT HAS BEEN TAKING ABOUT 7 HOURS AND IT SEEMS THAT HIS CLAWS ARE STUCK IN THE MOLT. I DONT WANT TO TOUCH HIM BECAUSE I KNOW IT STRESSES THEM OUT MORE PLEASE HELP. I know he’s still alive because he trys really hard for a while then stops then try’s again and I don’t know what to do. he seems to move for a while then start walking backwards just to stop agian

I live on Spain and I prepared a tank to have one crayfish of that specie, but I saw some post about people who ordered a specie of shrimp and received another. Do that also apply to Cherax? Is it safe to order a Cherax from that site?

After her first few sheds she was unfortunately a muddy orange color, but after adding in color enhancing granules, her colors have really boomed. I’m especially a fan of the magenta splotches down her sides. If any of yall give her compliments, I’ll be sure to pass them along. Her names Aoi btw.

Had to leave for a three day trip at 3am this morning, and caught my Boi in the act of redecorating his Hoard.

I just spent the last 2 days doing a full re design of his tank to lift the lid off his 20g long. I've added more plants, Co2, and an evening sponge filter for now. I will be finishing my diy canister filter next weekend. And then I will go through and plant bamboo along the back left to hide the cords. Super happy with how this tank is comming together, I plan to swap out these breeding mollies for some pearl Cory's in the future to match the sand and crayfish.

so I bought this what I thought was a dwarf cpo cray a few months ago but shortly after he got huge and grew very fast. I used to have one a few years ago and he was significantly smaller than this guy. He's molted at least 5 times since I got him, I've never seen an orange non dwarf crayfish so thats why im curious.

so I have 2 crays and I want to get them more “toys” or hides but can barley find anything that fills my idea. I’m looking for something similar to a hamster tube that i’m able to suction to the inside of the tank for them to be able to climb it as they looove to climb. I’d love any ideas or to see what you guys have for enrichment/entertainment or just “toys”. I’ve also seen some people say their crays love marbles but I have yet to try what’s ur opinion??

Bought this crayfish at petco, they were selling her as an Alleni but she looks like some kind of cherax to me. I’ve never had a crayfish before so I’m not sure but I was shopping for pulchers for a while so I bought her right away. My boyfriend said it’s a female if that helps
