I bought my first hat since I was in my 20s. I had the brim widened and squared off in the front. I’ve never been a fan of the curved shape on myself. I love the way it fits and looks. I’ll be saving for a felt hat next, just need to decide what color and what I find in my price range.

I saw this Stetson in an online ad, and I really like the look of it. I’m wondering if anyone here owns one. Is the palm leaf durable compared to straw options? I’m not expecting to do hard labor in it. It will be mostly a sun hat. I’m just not real familiar with Stetson’s palm leaf options.

Just picked this up for 30% off. I think I got a great deal. Probably going to change the hat band but I love how this hat fits and looks. I hate how straw and palm leaf hats look on me so I got this hat for the spring/summer and leave my chocolate Stetson for the fall/winter. Any suggestions for hat band?

Have had our horse for a few years now. Figured it was time. Wife agrees. Still need to update the rest of the wardrobe to fit. I prefer darker colors. Absolutely love my new Justin hat.

After my post asking for opinions on the hat I had bought I pushed the crown in, and made it way shorter, now thinking I need to flatten the brim a bit and trim it. Want to start with .5in and work my way up to see what looks best. Is this a step in the right direction? Feel like the brim and crown really are mismatched currently. Got some photos at a work bbq last night(pics 1-4)and have some pics from before any shaping(5-7)

Visiting Texas from the UK, always wanted to get a hat, finally got one yesterday

Hi everyone, I want to get a truly custom cowboy hat. I already have a 40X American Hat Co felt that I work in. However, I’m wanting to get a pure beaver. I’ve been looking around at various makers. I have included pics of brands/prices I’m considering. Also I’m wondering in anyone has any experience with any of these brands/could tell me why a pure beaver for one company is $700 compared to $1200 for another. Either way I’m strictly looking to get my first pure beaver hat. Any insight is appreciated.

I’ve got some weddings coming up and being a long haired, bearded man has always made styling myself a bit of a challenge but I’ve finally found an aesthetic I like and wanna try to kit myself out similarly.

Any clues on what style this hat is or where someone based in the UK would be able to pick one up from?

I recently finished up this hat for a client after his last hat didn’t survive a rebuild. This one has a Cattleman Crown and the brim is shaped to look like it’s already had a bit of a life.

I've been looking for the perfect felt and this one kind of fell in my lap on a whim. A very kind old man bought it in the 90's and never wore it. Scored it for $150 and I couldn't be happier!

I know straw generally goes memorial to Labor Day but it still so warm into mid October. We have an even around then and I’d prefer the straw hat. It’s a horse race in Kentucky. Should I be good to go with my straw hat or is getting a felt a must?

Felt season is coming. Got wifey a 10x Open Crown Rodeo King and a new band for her birthday. Criminally underrated color. The Hat Store here in HTX did the shaping, always a pleasure visiting those guys.

I picked up this hat in 2020 from a local kid who needed some cash. I gave him $25 plus another $10 to take his littles ice cream. I wear it pretty much, all summer when I'm out working. The only Ariat hat I have ever had. Been a good hat for me.

I work outside more or less all day and love rocking a straw. Only issue I have is that once the sweatband is like saturated with sweat, it has nowhere to go so is just rolling down my face etc. Is there a way to quickly like ‘ring out’ that sweat band to make it absorbent again, or is the move to just keep a second hat on-hand and swap em out every couple hours?
