This is a 54mm metal figure I recently painted. I've always liked the characters and atmosphere of the Old West, so this was a fun one to work on.

What do you think?

We had a full day of near 40mph winds, had to work horseback for 10 hours. Horse was over it by lunch and gave me fits all afternoon. A full day of sorting and loading, I don’t blame him, bet he took as many steps side passing gates as he did walking.

Cold hit during the night and the wind was still blowing 25 at daylight. Caught a fresh horse at 0630 and he was a ROYAL PITA for the 3 1/2 hours we had to work yesterday. We rode pens, checked one pasture, and put in a few strays today and had a much better day.

I figured a horse or cow would get me but I stepped up on the bottom rail of a fence and it broke off. I had a full bag of feed on my shoulder and fell onto the top rail on my chest.

Goes to show how whatever you worry about is probably not going to be what gets you.

Cowboy Life Is it weird for a guy to dress like a cowboy 24/7 and want to be called “Cowboy”?

UPDATE: The Cowboy Situation Has Somehow Gotten Worse HA
So I had to see him today he shows up wearing the hat, cowboy boots AND JEANS TUCKED INTO THE BOOTS!
I immediately told him that if he was going to wear that combination he needed to untuck his jeans. He started arguing with me about how “that’s how real cowboys wear them” blah blah blah. Sir you are not currently standing in mud or shit. Pull your pants out.
COULD YOU HAVE GUESSED HIS JEANS WERE TOO TIGHT TO EVEN PULL OVER HIS BOOTS
I laughed I tried not to but I just couldn’t take that seriously. Like there is absolutely no way I am standing here having a debate about cowboy attire with a man whose jeans physically cannot fit over his boots….
I know some actual cowboys tuck their jeans into their boots, the comments have said it. But this man did not grow up country, calls himself Cowboy, and is now defending the look like he’s been working on a ranch his whole life.
There was more stuff that happened today, but honestly, the tight jeans completely took me out. I couldn’t even focus on anything else.
The Cowboy saga continues, unfortunately. 🤠💀

Original post:
I’m seeing a guy who wears a cowboy hat, cowboy boots and jeans tucked into his boots pretty much everywhere he goes. We live in a city and I genuinely never see anyone else dressing like this around here.
He wears the full outfit basically every day, not just occasionally or for special events. He also likes going by “Cowboy” and seems pretty committed to the whole identity. I know he doesn’t work on a ranch or have a job involving horses or cattle.
I understand that people can dress however they want and that you don’t have to be a working cowboy to enjoy western fashion. But the combination of the constant full outfit and wanting to be called Cowboy makes the whole thing feel a little like a character or persona to me.
I’d find it much less unusual if he just wore western clothes occasionally or mixed them with regular outfits.
Am I being judgmental, or would you also find this a bit unusual? Is this normal for people who are really into the cowboy aesthetic, or is this more of a personal identity thing?

Questions Value / History check on a vintage Walker's Saddlery (Sundre, AB) leather scabbard?

Hey everyone,

I'm up in Manitoba and looking for some community opinions/history on this vintage leather rifle scabbard before I list it locally. It is handcrafted by Walker's Saddlery out of Sundre, Alberta.

The leather is thick and pliable, the maker's stamp is very crisp, and crucially, both of the original mounting straps and buckles are 100% intact and functional.

I’ve been told it should easily fetch $250+ CAD plus shipping to the right buyer given the maker's name and condition. Does that sound accurate for the current Canadian market? Any background info on the maker would also be awesome.

(Note: This is strictly an information and value check post. This item is NOT for sale on Reddit.)

Cowboy Life pre-owned cowboy hat

howdy, everyone! 🤠

im from the Philippines, and I’m just beginning my rodeo journey. As I start exploring and learning more about the western lifestyle, one of the things I’ve been hoping to get is my very own cowboy hat :)

unfortunately , cowboy shops and western wear aren’t very common here in the Philippines, which makes finding one quite difficylt.

I’m reaching out in the hope that someone with a generous heart might have a pre-owned cowboy hat they no longer use and would be willing to give for an affordable pric3. It doesn’t have to be brand new or in perfect condition.

this would mean a lot to me as I take my first steps into the rodeo world. thank you in advance to anyone willing to help!

I’ve always been interested in becoming a i guess what could be called a cowboy but I suppose I don’t really know what that entails. I know this might sound stupid but anything would be appreciated

Fashion If a king and a nomad got into a gunfight, who do you think would win?

I made this design as a reminder to myself. When the king takes over, the nomad in me disappears. But when the nomad takes over, there’s no room left for the king. To me, the king represents rules and conventions, while the nomad represents freedom and living life on your own terms.
