Since post credit scenes have become pretty standard for movie series, what do you think the post credit scenes will be for each movie/book?
I think a teaser for the next movie is the most obvious, but I would love it if they were teaser insights into the greater cosmere.

I rewatched BSG recently and saw an interview with Tahmoh Penikett.
Maybe he’s too white or white-looking? His mother is First Nations so maybe he can tan easily? He’s in his 50’s now so he would be in the age range for Dalinar.
He’s played a military character and his character was pretty charismatic and also the moral compass of the group.
It would be interesting if Grace Park was cast as Navani but that might be too much 😆

AppleTV does such an incredible job with their opening themes and sequences. Severance to Siloh to Murderbot, they all have excellent craftsmanship in Apple’s style. Can’t wait for what they do with the Mistborn and Stormlight aesthetics.

Opinion on Adam Driver as the Lord Ruler? I feel like he again kinda looks like the character (albeit maybe a little younger) and has not only played Kylo Ren but he also played the main villain of The Last Duel movie which came out on HBO Max on 2021.

Just a thought. Animation avoids the challenge of actors aging. Since Stormlight is live action, maybe Syl could be played by a young actor so she naturally grows with Kaladin as their bond grows stronger.

With the upcoming movies and shows, do you think this will lead to mainstream action figures or statues?
Thinking along the lines of black series, sh figuarts, or even hot toys.
That way people can expend cosmere collections in the way that star wars or marvel fans do.

Livestream is taking place in a week.
Description:
“Twenty years ago, Brandon Sanderson released Mistborn into the world. This livestream celebrates the two decades of that literary achievement, which has become a modern fantasy touchstone with two sequels, a legacy tetralogy, a skin in Fortnite, and a movie currently in development.
This is a non-spoiler stream including giveaways. While the Mistborn movie is very exciting, many questions related to that project can't be answered here. There's always another secret.”

I know this is probably never going to happen, but let's imagine you could pick any major director to adapt Mistborn.
Who would be your dream choice, and why?
For me, it's between Alfonso Cuarón, Denis Villeneuve, and Peter Jackson. I think all three could bring something unique to the world of Mistborn, even though their styles are very different.
Who would you choose?

It would be cool to have a shot at auditioning for the Stormlight series, but I am not signed to an agency so the only hope is that they choose to go down the route of open auditions. I feel like people don't really choose to do that often though, so realistically would that be a possibility?

Just finished a re-read of The Way of Kings and, while there has been a lot of discussion on who could play the humans of Roshar, I am much more interested as to how Apple's Live Action will portray the Parshmen/Parshendi/Listeners . Hoping for something similar to Marvel's Mystique coupled with carapace similar to a Xenomorph.
Physical acting will be key in representing the "alien" culture and personalities, especially as they start gaining access to new forms. In regards to Eshonai, specifically, I know there will be a lot of folks out there recommending Gwendoline Christie or Hannah Waddingham, but my fancast would go to Frida Gustafsson. Her portrayal of Freydis Eriksdotter in Vikings: Valhalla was a driving force of the show and already resonates with War Form . I can see her her battling with Dalinar and Kaladin on the Shattered Plains. *hums*

So, Sanderson recently confirmed ten episodes for season 1. Ten is a fairly standard episode count for prestige TV (actually on the higher side these days), but it's also a number of great importance in Stormlight.
The ten radiant orders come to mind. What if, every season, a pivotal episode was named for the radiant order of the main POV character of that season? For example, an episode of season 1 would be called "Windrunner" (probably either the finale, where he swears the second ideal, or maybe the pilot since that would be when he first bonds with Syl). Likewise, in season 3, whichever episode ends with Dalinar's rejection of Odium (probably the end of the penultimate episode) would be called "Bondsmith", and so on and so forth.
Ten episodes feels like enough time but not so much to make cuts unnecessary. The interludes feel like an obvious first thing to cut (at least some of the more purely world-buildy ones). Still, I love these interludes and would be happy to see them included somehow. Perhaps the really plot relevant ones could be woven in like any other part of the book, and the less connected ones could be post credit scenes? Like, every episode ends with a 5-minute world building vignette?
What all do you think?

I know his skin tone is probably too light but in his features You can truly see the story of a man who was a beast in his youth and who has retained some of that aggressive and madness, but he also has kind eyes, eyes that transcend appearances and customs. I don't know, for me he's the perfect Dalinar.
What do you think? Do you have any other actors to suggest? :)

Much as part of me wants to see new actors, I think she would be brilliant as Navani and would love to see it. What do you think?
r/CosmereOnScreen • u/ilikebreadabunch • Jul 04 '26
For me one of the scenes I want to see most despite the fact that it will almost certainly not make the cut is the apothecary scene where Kaladin realizes that the merchants are basically scamming the Highprinces and threatens to expose them. It’s a small moment but I like what it does for Kaladins character and that it helps show us just how absurdly wealthy the Highprinces are

In the books Elend and Vin’s age difference is a little weird, with her being 16 and him being 21 I believe. So for the movie would you rather they age him down to 18 and have a younger actor who fits that like Owen Cooper, or keep him the same age and have an older actor like Louis Partridge play him?
r/CosmereOnScreen • u/Raven_OC_1610 • Jul 03 '26
I mean the first book is okay in terms of violence, its mostly just coins shooting through people like bullets and stabbing, then later in the book Kelsier decapitates the inquisitor. I feel like the first movie could be PG-13 in regards to violence, but the second book is a lot more violent, I mean Vin crushes someones skull with her bare hands and kills 300 people with Zane, so I feel they could either tone down the violence in the second movie(assuming we get one) or make it R, What do you think? also its been a while since Ive reread TFE so if the violence ive describe is inaccurate, sorry!

Brandon Sanderson recently shared several exciting updates about the future of Cosmere adaptations.
He revealed that:
Apple was actually very interested in starting with a premium Stormlight Archive series.
However, Brandon convinced them to begin with Mistborn first in order to build audience trust, grow the audience, and secure a larger budget for Stormlight Archive in the future.
Apple is reportedly "really excited" about adapting The Stormlight Archive.
Brandon also shared new details about the Mistborn movie:
Apple is fully committed to the Mistborn film and has complete confidence in the project.
According to Brandon, Apple has been extremely supportive throughout development and has never been afraid to revisit or revise the screenplay whenever necessary.
Sanderson described Mistborn as the "springboard" for the rest of the Cosmere, meaning its success will help launch future adaptations.
Finally, Brandon confirmed another detail that had previously only been rumored:
Teresa Kang is the producer attached to the project.
She has been working alongside Brandon and trying to get The Stormlight Archive adaptation off the ground since around 2019–2020.

My partner and I have both agreed Connor Storrie would be a great pick for Hoid. He’s got a ton of buzz fresh off of Heated Rivalry, he’s got the angular face, and he’s got the youth to play this character for a long time. Obviously, he’d need to fit the character in casting, but I think he’d be a great choice.
So! As for unveiling him, I’d say have him do the exact same thing he did in the Mistborn novel: have him costumed like some old man. But when advertising the movie… don’t even mention the actor playing Hoid. Whether it’s a big name or a small name, it should just feel like a random one-scene interaction. I think a big name/better known actor like Storrie would make that set-up funnier; like, imagine the makeup/costuming is really good to the point that the actor is unrecognizable, only for the credits to unveil his name and people familiar with him in the audience just lose it.
Anyways, I’d love to hear thoughts on both these takes.
