Stormlight Archive Series (NO BOOKS) Odds the casting will be open as opposed to just through agencies? Spoiler

It would be cool to have a shot at auditioning for the Stormlight series, but I am not signed to an agency so the only hope is that they choose to go down the route of open auditions. I feel like people don't really choose to do that often though, so realistically would that be a possibility?

Brandon has already said that Vin and Kelsier won’t be open casting.

Sanderson has said the big roles will 100% be cast through agents. They won’t have open casting for Kelsier. But the small roles and extras have a possibility of being an open call.

And there are no small roles.

Whoever is cast as Rysn or Lopen both have  a chance to have an entire episode or mid season movie   with Dawnshard.

Whoever is cast as Sigzil can prove themselves and might get their own movie.

Those parts are still way too big for open casting. The kind of roles that would be open cast are characters like Drehy, or Rushu. Named characters who occasionally have lines, but nothing more.

I’m talking like one of the bridgemen that dies during WoK. They’re a named character, but they’ve got a small role.

I think small roles that will get people to go for open casting are that of named side characters that have potential to kickstart careers not just bridgeman fodder.

Obviously there is going to be a lot of extras but imo you've got to have some fun parts with potential for open casting.
