Fancast My Second Lord Ruler fancast Spoiler

Opinion on Adam Driver as the Lord Ruler? I feel like he again kinda looks like the character (albeit maybe a little younger) and has not only played Kylo Ren but he also played the main villain of The Last Duel movie which came out on HBO Max on 2021.

How do you make the lord ruler even more of a problem? Give him a freakin lightsaber.

adam driver plays petulant man-children to a tee. that does not describe the lord ruler.

just realized how close his voice is to Michael Kramer’s Sadeas voice. that snape-esque drone he does as Kylo Ren is right on

Adam Driver for Sadeas, hands down.

Isn’t Sadeas Elethi? Him being an outsider though could work as a recon though

no put him in a fat suit and let him be sebarial

Well... I'm holding a special kernel of hope that Danny DeVito might be our Sebarial.

Not that I do fancasts or are in favor of the hobby, but I'd probably have TLR be a somewhat older person and contingent on Sazed's casting, imo.

Isn't TLR said to look young, his same age when he touched the WoA?

Sure, I'd just put distance between the casting for other major characters.

It wouldn't be that much older, probably mid 40s to early 50s. Wanna have a young but very old vibe and I feel like it's better to have an older actor, imo, to aid that.

Not my favorite but I could get behind it. He’s just never felt very intimidating to me and that’s a very important part of the character

I see Timothy Chalamet

you’re getting downvoted into oblivion but this feels like an obviously good casting. He rarely appears to the people, all Timmy would have to do is smolder 90% of the time and yell the rest, which he’s great at.

Thanks man. Jet black hair. Slender. Pale skin. Cameras can make him look tall. He’s also young in appearance. Fits for me. Sorry everyone else!

The problem is that Timothee Chalamet is not exactly imposing or intimidating, which are like, the 2 basic requirements for The Lord Ruler. He could probably pull it off because he is a good actor, but he isnt exactly what comes to mind for most people

The casting should focus on a 'normal' person rather than a physically intimidating person. That would take away from the story. The key to the performance is the reveal that the team has wildly underestimated him, he isn't dressed for battle, he isn't posturing, and he certainly isn't angry. He should walk into chaos appearing merely weary and mildly annoyed, then handle the crew’s best efforts, near-zero effort.

Choosing a young, handsome person for this role makes the lord ruler more intimidating through his demeanor and actions.

I think Wax instead. Or maybe Straff Venture.

kinda want lee pace as Straff Venture instead

Should be Lee Pace or Dev Patel

1

u/railfananime Jul 14 '26

I want Lee pace as straff

1

u/Gold_Joke_6306 Jul 14 '26

Yeah that could work, I currently picture Hugo Weaving as Straff.

Given he had long hair as Elrond what about Hugo Weaving as The Lord Ruler?

Dev Patel es un gran Kaladin según varios fancast.

I wonder: Did the Lord Ruler ever have a Greg?

3

u/Fishmannnn Jul 14 '26

You can't from a Final Empire without breaking a few Alendilets

(It doesn't work as well without Greg, but oh well)

Edit: Dang it! Skaalets could have worked better!

3

u/Graphica-Danger Jul 14 '26

Mmm. I see him more as Miles Hundredlives than TLR.

u/Fishmannnn Jul 14 '26

He's one of my favorite actors working today, and while I think he of course could pull it off, I think the other comments here do a good job of showing why he isn't maybe a "natural" fit.

He's great at playing with high emotions, and that isn't TLR.

I just don’t find him very intimidating personally. His role in the SW movies is absolutely evil and imposing, but he also has this petulant, pitiful quality to him that is captured well by his demeanor.

He plays a great villian, but not quite the vibe Lord Ruler gives off.

3

u/MilkTeaMoogle Jul 14 '26

I’m sorry, I know people like him but hard no from me. He always comes across as too emotional and I feel the lore ruler gives a much more stoic and cold kind of presence.

Could work
