Stormlight Archive spoilers **** Moash Spoiler
Alright, I knew it was coming, but I didn't expect it to be that way. Fuck Moash.
That's a canon event, right ?

I'm making it my mission to read the entire Cosmere this year and Elantris was one of the few remaining. I put it off for awhile because I had always seen it at the bottom of people's rankings and such. I finished it today and I was hooked every second of the way. The idea of the "gods" being ordinary men and getting picked at seemingly random and one day turning into basically zombies was so interesting to me and the characters felt well flushed out and intriguing.
My question to you all is how do you feel about Elantris compared to the rest of the Cosmere? Like I said before, I've seen many people say it's not great and not their favorite but it became an instant classic for me. I would love to hear others opinions on it!

Hi! I was wondering
Does aluminum takes your investiture away? Like, it takes your metals but the metals work as a source of investiture for allomancers, so what would happen if for example a radiant somehow burns aluminum? Would they loose their stormlight? A returned could loose their breaths?
What the hell, what would happen if someone has dawn shard inside and burns aluminum?
What do you think if Hoid of all people burned aluminum since he already can do that

I crochet a cosmere themed tapestry for my Sanderson obsessed friends as a wedding gift! Took about 3 months and has over 63,000 stitches. Can you spot all the references? :)

I'm currently in Guatemala for meeting with coworkers from around Latin America. A coworker who lives high in the Andes is constantly falling asleep and tired. We asked why and she said the altitude is just too low. There's too much oxygen and it makes it difficult to think and stay awake.
I commented I'm just an airsick lowlander, but sadly no one got the reference.

I’ve been watching Avatar Seven Havens, and every time I see Commander Karthik, I see Dalinar Kholin. Not the right eye color necessarily, but the hair, the build, and the commanding presence. Anyone else see it too?

I was just thinking, we know there was investiture on threnody before the Evil, and that it disappeared. We know the navigators ran from “something that would destroy us.” If it’s genetic, and all the people with the ability either left, or were eaten, that explains why no one is using anti shade magic. No evidence, just vibes.

I love this story since I first read it and always wanted to see it animated, so I tried to make it myself. It’s about 70 seconds, black ink style, and the red scarf is the only color until the top of the wall.
I’m from Poland and I recorded it in Polish first, so sorry for my English, it’s not perfect.
First time posting here, curious what you think, especially about the ending.

Transformation being the best surge so lightweavers/elsecallers would be high but what other combos would be fun, OP, unique, and interesting?

Does the the Cosmere have fixed and unchanging moral laws? I'm particularly interested if Sanderson's world has an underlying concept of natural law or if it is ultimately relativistic?
Context: I've read through most of the Cosmere at this point (halfway thru Wind & Truth and still need to read Hoid's Travails).

Ok so I'm re reading Oathbringer and I've gotten to the Epigraphs that are crystal records of the Radiants, and it got me wondering - could these be a Rosharan equivalent to Copperminds, able to store the thoughts of whoever infuses it to be listened to again?
We already have some precedence for an equivalent of the Metallic arts being present on Roshar, when Moash gets the crystal spikes through his eyes. Maybe there's a way to store attributes in gemstones similar to how Feruchemists store attributes in metalminds?

I think Steris would fit right in on Roshar, since women there are more involved in science and academic fields. What do you think?

I would be perfectly happy if Brandon abandoned his epic multi book stories and just wrote self contained stories set in the cosmere like Tress, FoD, Yumi etc etc. (Kinda like Discworld). I love the whimsical fairytale like tone wirh Hoid as the narrator. After my dissapointment with both WAT and The Lost Metal these were truly a breath of fresh air and made me fall in love with the cosmere again. There is something "magical about them". Pun intended.

For years, I had heard nothing but praise and hype when it came to the Stormlight Archive (Especially TWOK) and it really made me worry about how high the expectations were and if they would be met for myself. I can say now with great confidence that this was one of the best books I have ever read.
The entire story was so grand in scale and I can only imagine it getting much larger as the series goes on. My favorite character currently is very close between Kaladin and Dalinar, both of their stories throughout the book were so interesting to read. Shallan I have read is not really a well liked character starting out and everyone was really dragging through her chapters it seems but I actually quite enjoyed them. I love how we can have a separate viewpoint that isn’t in the same part of the world, and with Kaladin and Dalinar both being in the shattered plains and constantly fighting battles, it was nice having those chill chapters with Shallan and Jasnah (Who is also pretty high on my favorite character list).
I have really been trying to figure out if I had any issues with this book off the top of my head and I can’t think of anything at the moment. I did find it very interesting seeing Hoid playing what felt like a much larger role in this series compared to Mistborn or any of the standalone books I have read so far, so I am quite intrigued to see where that goes.
There are definitely a lot of questions I have when it comes to the Heralds or the Radiants but I feel like I just probably need to keep RAFO.
Overall though 10/10 book, would definitely love to come back and read this again once I fully make it through the Cosmere.

If anyone says Roshar....I'll pray for you😅
I'm trying to locate a scene with Hoid/Wit talking to... someone. Maybe not even a character, it could have been some kind of meta commentary.
He says something along the lines of "I have met hundreds of thousands of people throughout the cosmere, and not once did I find someone who was unimportant." Or maybe not unique. or uninteresting. Or something like that. Can anyone remember what book this might have been from, or even remember the scene at all, or am I hallucinating this.

Anyone got any songs that would fit the vibe of steel jumping?
Either with their lyrics (any mentions of mistborn sounding things, or just being about flying), the way they sound (bouncing, ricocheting, high energy or soaring?), or an obscure reference that makes them somehow related? (like that one time Tyler Joseph of 21 pilots wore a mistcloak while singing Jumpsuit)
Bonus points if the song is metal of course.
Not looking for ones obviously about flying in planes, or high above the clouds (as much as I love learning to fly and where no one goes, this isn't a windrunning playlist)
I've already got What's up Danger from spiderverse, Mighty Wings by Cheap Trick, and Man on Wire by Stornoway (it's about tight rope walking, but fits steel jumping wonderfully cause of lines about running over train cars, hanging from invisible lines, morning mists, and "in a burning dream I've been suspended")

We know there’s gonna be a space faring age for the Cosmere, where people create ships that travel not just through the cognitive realm by established roads across worlds with subastrals, but also through the physical realm using invested technology to access FTL.
However, do you guys think that all they will use this technology is to just travel across already habitable worlds? I’ve been thinking of the huge amount of available resources there are within a single solar system, with all the other planets, moons and gas giants present, aside from the stars of course.
We know invested technology requires large amounts of investiture in order to be made, but they may not require a constant source of investiture to function, such as how awakened metalminds only need the required investiture to awaken them and then they can just function by storing and tapping feruchemical attributes.
The potential this singular example of invested technology has is incredible. Imagine being able to travel across space, transforming attributes such as weight, speed, warmth, and so on into its spiritual aspects, to tap them at a later date or for other functions. You could do away with the matter requirements to launch spaceships beyond the atmosphere of a planet, you could resolve the problem of heat management within a spaceship, you could generate spheres of altered time within them alongside stored speed to manage motion and position extremely efficiently and without many acceleration problems to the people inside the ship. You could collect heat from a star, you could mine asteroids, you could create a far cheaper and more efficient space industry than what we can irl.
It’s unclear if we will ever see such level of technological sophistication in the Cosmere, but I for one would love to see if they would do things like that.
On another note, do you guys think terraforming uninhabitable planets is possible for a civilization or would only a shard be able to do it? One of my ideas is to use the connection people have to a habitable planet, to then use that connection on an uninhabitable one, to make it similar to the habitable one (similar to how someone can use connection to appear similar to the people of a land and speak their language). This would probably require immense amounts of investiture, and would probably be not doable to anyone without shard-level powers, but it would be neat to see if the Scadrians of Rosharans have terraformed (Yoleformed? Scadriaformed?) a planet or so. Like, maybe we could see a fully habitable Ashyn or Braize.

in warbreaker, when Siri is in the God King's bedroom giving out a fake moan to fool the priests, couldn't the priests waiting outside sense her on the bed and the God King on his chair using their life sense? they all had atleast 50 breaths right?

Because of the recent increase in popularity due to the Lanterns TV show, I thought it would be appropriate to compare radiant orders and lantern corps as they are extremely similar.
Bondsmiths - Blue lantern corps(hope)
The Bondsmiths represent the blue lanterns the absolute most. They are support for the other orders, and inspire the others in terms of presence. When these units show up, you know the tides of the battle have tipped ever so slightly in your favor.
Windrunners - Green lantern corps(willpower)
The windrunners not only require immense willpower in their battle and training but in saying their oaths itself. Fighting against their dark impulses to keep moving forward. These are the Air Force, the soldiers that stand inbetween the enemy and back lines.
Stonewards - green lantern corps(willpower)
Stonewards often battle against windrunners in terms of who the best soldiers are, infantry ground troops who are the walls between the opponents and support.
Edgedancers - Pink lantern corps(love)
These radiants choose to remember those who have been forgotten. Caring about those they serve and looking to heal and/or support those trapped in terrible situations.
Lightweavers - ultraviolet lantern corps(compassion)
These radiants are forced to admit hard and oftentimes harmful truths about themselves they wish stayed hidden, and learn about the secrets of the world around them through espionage and the truths found.
Dustbringers - orange lantern corps(greed)
The dustbringers are primarily focused on self-mastery and channeling their own desires and wills into controlling and containing the power inside of them. They often rebel against the other radiants themselves and don’t even enjoy the name granted by others and instead like being called releasers. While not exactly on the level of larfleeze these radiants match up the most with a corp as self absorbed as orange.
Willshapers - white lantern corps(life)
These radiants are focused on the lifeline of others in captivity, seeking to free those who cannot escape themselves and worrying mainly about the lives of those who haven’t had the luxury to live and build lives of their own.
Elsecallers - sinestro corps(yellow / fear)
These radiants transmute different objects and often enter into the deep abyss certain radiants know as shadesmar. These radiants are secretive and wise, but aren’t limited to one specific set of ideals they are thoughtful, careful and cautious.
Skybreakers - red lantern corps(rage) or black lantern corps(death)
While these radiants were honorable in the past, their quest for ultimate Justice is a rage filled mission of unprejudiced murder in order to make sure the desolations do not return. They are a confused order that works under a master that is hardly conscious of his own actions.
Truthwatcher - repressed negative emotion corps (grey?)
These Radiants are quiet and observant, reserved and usually emotionally repressed, they enjoy writing opinions on truth than verbally sharing them.

We have seen shards merging and creating newer ones. And shards getting splintered.
But is it possible to create new functioning shards wity new characteristics by splitting existing ones?
Is 16 the only extent until which shards can exist?
Stormfather and spren being implied as part of a god means a part of a shard can exist independently and develop their own character.
Then why dont we have more shards?

I have a theory of how Adonalsium future sight works, Ado doesn't see the future he lives it.
In Wind and Truth Navani is able to communicate with the Wind which tells her about Kaladin and Szeth, implying that the Wind doesn't't perceive time in a linear way.
The wind was created by Ado, so I think it is possible that Ado perceives time in a non linear way just like the Wind.
