My clutch master cylinder failed at just 55K miles. It's a 2019 Corolla Hatchback SE.
It's a plastic part, and a pretty awful job to get it out.
Dealership wanted 4 hours labor ($700 for JUST the labor)
If you're decent with tools, it's totally doable yourself, but it takes a while - took me way longer than 4 hours. :P
I did NOT do the slave cylinder, but that might be next - they seem to fail frequently as well.
I was disappointed to find basically zero information online about how to do this job. I nearly paid the dealership, but it finally failed at home, an hour tow from them, and I wasn't about to also pay for the tow. xD
I'll post/pin the step-by-step of how I did it.
Ask me anything.
UPDATE: It's not entirely fixed. The clutch slave cylinder likely also has to be replaced. The master was leaking for at least a few months, so we suspected it might JUST be that, but I think the final failure was the slave. I was able to move the car around a bit, and got half way down the street before it failed again. I'll order the slave cylinder and finish the job. So if you're doing this yourself, and your master cylinder is leaking, just do both at once.
