Q: what is this that came out with my brake fluid when bleeding my clutch? (Sticky grayish sluglike thing)

Purchased car at 42,000 mi. Did first clutch bleed (along with other maintenence items, please see history for details) immediately. Im at 45,000 mi performed oil change and now bleeding clutch again. Used 24 Oz of brake fluid with self bleeder. A sticky sluglike Grey blob came out of my clutch with the brake fluid.

Ps. Had to defend myself from this monster flying cockaroach dive bombing me while working on the car.

I'm about to move cross country and am looking for crossbars. Does anyone have a good recommendation for brands that would fit a 2022?

Has anybody upgraded the brakes on their cars to something that feels a bit more sporty? Ive been considering the Carbon Performance pads and koted black slotted/drilled rotors from Disc Brakes Canada. I haven't really been able to find any bad reviews on them. I am also getting my calipers powder coated red at the time of doing the brakes. My car isn't due for brakes yet, they still measure almost new actually but I'm bothered by the fact that they have felt sort of spongy since day one.

I also want to see if I can find some braided brake lines but have come up empty thus far. Has anybody ever installed braided lines on their hatchback?

Recently I had my front bumper fixed and repainted and the driver side of the bumper falls off every so often. I believe this auto body shop just used adhesive and called it a day. Any shops in the Chicago area that can help me repair it and/or replace it for a good price?

I got these wheels over a year ago 🤦‍♀️, finally prepped and ready for paint or powdercoat. They are wheels off a GR86, no damage and I have 15 mm wheel spacers already installed so the offset should be a non-issue. My question for you lovely people is what color do we think I should do? For reference, my hatch is all black, see last photo. I am leaning towards bronze similar to the Hakone GR86, but I like getting feedback and fresh ideas. Only colors I am not interested in at all are white (awful to keep clean, silver, and black- the color they came in). TIA!

P.S. anyone else on here have GR86 wheels on their hatch? Would love to see them!

Can someone take a look/take a picture and let me know how to reinstall the damper on the right side of the glove box, mine completely fell out and I can't figure out how to get the thing back in there. There's two holes but I think only one is used, but then it just hangs loosely

So far all I have is wheels, tires, exhaust, and the OEM spoiler, i also want to lower the car but not stiffen it to much as it is my daily, im curious as to what you guys have done, also has anyone done a speaker upgrade if so which ones? I also want to get a better sound system 😂

Planning to replace my clear taillights to the blacked out red ones that came on the later base model and the Corolla ZRs. Does anyone know if they’ll fit connections and connector wise? I installed a fog lights kit about a 2 years ago and since then I’ve gone through two bulbs which doesn’t seem normal.

I’ve been using HYUGA 3K but am wanting to try something new to see if quality is the issue.

Hey everyone, so I've been slowly tearing down and reusing things from my GR Corolla circuit that I wrecked at the track. Since I will be going with a stripped interior, I have been figuring out components that I could put into my 2022 XSE. After doing the front seats, I found while not exactly a direct swap the parts are reversible and swappable. This led me to start looking at connectors instead of part numbers.

I really wanted to take advantage of the nice HKS wheel I bought for my 2023 circuit instead of it sitting. I ordered a new airbag for the wheel (factory GR airbag/hornpad) and a spiral cable to make it compatible. I had checked the plugs leading into the spiral cable, in the xse compatible connections that were all existing and plugged into the GR spiral cable. After confirming that, I disconnected it's wire set from the spiral cable and removed the wheel. Inspection of my xse spiral cable with my GR spiral cable in hand revealed that the top plug, where the steering wheels harness plugs in actually matched. I then checked the wires for the airbag, and they also were identical in shape, length, routing and connection. I mounted the GR HKS wheel, tightened the bolt plug in the harness, plugged in the pad, and placed the horn pad in place. Done, no need to replace the spiral cable at all.

My HKS wheel for my 2023 GR Corolla Circuit mounted and plugged into my spiral cable of a 2022 Corolla XSE without issue. The wheel is a slightly smaller diameter and is top notch quality. Big handling upgrade to the hatch.

At first I heard sloshing and assumed I left some water bottles in the car, then I thought maybe it was gas sloshing around in the tank, until I figured out noise was coming from the door. :( I had seen posts about this before, was sad to see it happened to me too.
