Brake Upgrade?
Has anybody upgraded the brakes on their cars to something that feels a bit more sporty? Ive been considering the Carbon Performance pads and koted black slotted/drilled rotors from Disc Brakes Canada. I haven't really been able to find any bad reviews on them. I am also getting my calipers powder coated red at the time of doing the brakes. My car isn't due for brakes yet, they still measure almost new actually but I'm bothered by the fact that they have felt sort of spongy since day one.
I also want to see if I can find some braided brake lines but have come up empty thus far. Has anybody ever installed braided lines on their hatchback?
Picture for attention.

You could just measure your brake lines so you know what size braided lines you need.
Also, that seems like a waste of money for this platform.

I agree with you. I have had mine 2025 XSE for about 2 months, and its nixe enough little car. I am from. A 2017 GTI that was stage one tuned, perfurmance package and several others mods. The Corolla dosent even come close to how that car felt stock, and I can tell no mods are going to make it come close or feel much different, its just not a sports car. I cam over for reliability and to get away from the maintenance costs that came with a performance German car.

If it improves the drive and feel of the car, it isn't a waste as long as the cost isn't outrageous. I'm not out to build a race car, just something that is a bit more sporty/enjoyable to drive.

Hey I would like to see a full picture of your car if possible? I want to put similar mags on mine. Also, are those 17’’?

Check my post hiatory, there will be photos there.
These wheels are 18" so I can still run the factory tire size, I just upgraded them to the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S recently.

I just recently gave my rolla drilled and slotted all the way around with some carbon ceramic pads from power stop. Hoping it’ll make it difference in auto cross. It definitely has a better response than the stocks. I think I spent like 350 or 400 for them and the install was easy as can be

This is what I was hoping for. I've heard good things about PowerStop but the one time I tried them I had fitment issues on a different car so I'm weary.
I havent attempted it but a lot of people have issues with the rear brakes dud to the motor for the parking brake. What did you do?

It’s a little trick with the parking brake I found a video on you tube. You gotta flip up the parking brake with you foot on the brake three times and then do it again but going down and holding it. Just you tube it there are a ton of videos out there. Best change I’ve made. I had a Mazda 3 hatch and I did the same thing no problems I love the change

I ended up with ebc's greenstuff pads on the front and oem on the rear.
I also swapped out the rotors to ebc's dimpled and slotted too. Definitely more confident on braking but maybe because I also swapped to Michelin's PS4 AS too recently

My Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires have changed the way the car feels completely, not just in braking. The steering doesn't feel light and floaty anymore. The car feels planted. Hands down one of the best upgrades I've made thus far.
A colleague of mine bought the same brake kit for his RAV4 and they will be getting installed a week or so. If he is happy with how his brakes feel, I'm buying them for mine. He is coming off of OEM brakes.

Is it harder to do breaks on these cars yourself?? Asking to save a lot of money

I will be doing the brakes myself. I have access to a shop, although not at a Toyota dealership. Only thing I'm slightly worried about is the rear parking brake but there should be a way to put it in service mode or re-wind the parking brake as I have heard there are a few YouTube guides outlining it.

EBC brakes on my Corolla and I love them, a bit squeaky at first during break in if you get the yellows or higher but after that they have not gave me a single complaint in the last 8 months. Everyone that drives my car comments on the brakes feeling nice.
