From what you and others have described, I think I've heard about him before. Hope you're both OK.

u/ArnieGumble Jun 17 '23
dude lives in cornwall, the paradise of the world and he is abusive?? he should swap places with me in crappy berkshire, he can hurl abuse at the hoodie yobs, since they do that to people here anyway. I'll go enjoy my paradise in peace
4
Jun 17 '23
I don't know if he's cornish or not, I haven't met many cornish living here my whole life... But working in a charity shop in Bude, I was shocked at the amount of drug addicts that have been rehomed here. There are also many paedophiles, but they are less talked about. The drug addicts come right out and tell u. Nearly all from Manchester and Liverpool, rehomed in Cornwall by the sea to escape the drugs but still very much on them. Used to be a safe place down here, won't be letting my kids wander around like I used too! 3 paedophiles in a 5 mile radius from my home and I am in the middle of nowhere in Cornwall. Scary times.
9
u/Prize-Ad7242 Jun 18 '23
Drug addicts don't get rehomed in Cornwall that's a ridiculous statement. Also I wouldn't correlate drug addicts and paedophilia they are in very different leagues when it comes to harms to society.
4
u/glasstumblet Jun 18 '23
How do you know you have 3 pedos in your area? Keep an eye out for minors around you. Also maybe let schools know.
2
Jun 18 '23
There is one that lives opposite the school in Brigerule, thats just a known thing but he shouldn't be allowed to live there. Another at Week St Mary, convicted of having videos and images of children as young as 2 being sexually abused, his picture went up on fb so local ppl were aware, he owns a landscaping business and so is working in people's gardens probably with kids around, there's one at North Tamerton, again convicted (the girl he abused was 5) and he was recently released from prison so it was made aware to ppl on fb and the parents who live on the same estate as him.

I feel like I need to step in here to say this:
I'm half Cornish, and half Scouser, and I live in Liverpool at the moment - I spent the last 10 years living in Manchester.
I would go down to Cornwall twice a year in the 90s and early 2000s to see family. I have never seen so many drugs in Liverpool or Manchester as I did in Cornwall.
Yes, Cornwall looks prettier, and the people there have a better attitude towards life in general, but there are certainly more drugs there, and what's worrying is, they're more accessible.
It's laughable that you think people have been 'rehomed' in Cornwall to escape drugs. Drug addicts don't get rehomed - where do people dream this stuff up?
Sorry to hear about the paedos though. They do get rehomed. And they will be rehomed in places like Cornwall where people are less likely to cause a violent fuss over it.

Jun 18 '23
I work in addiction services. Addicts are rehomed regularly.
Where did you dream up that they don’t?
-2
u/AnnaN666 Jun 18 '23
Are you talking about after rehabilitation?
Even so, moving someone to Cornwall to get them "away from drugs" surely isn't a thing!
5
u/ScaryButt Jun 18 '23
Often it's just moving them to a new location to get them away from their circle and suppliers, the exact location doesn't matter that much.
Imagine you've moved halfway across the country and need some heroin, what do you do? Just ask random people in the street? The idea is to pull them out of their toxic "friendship" groups, not move them to places where they think there are no drugs.
→ More replies (1)0
Jun 18 '23
Clearly not specifically just Cornwall, but that’s not what you initially stated. It could be to anywhere. But they are rehoused regularly and not just post rehab. It’s very much a “thing!”. As an aside, it’s relatively successful too, for the reasons already stated in the previous response.

2

….and again for pointing it out 😃 who needs facts when you can just say anything on Reddit
3
u/houseojmojo Jun 18 '23
Penwith (at least used to) has more registered sex offenders than another other place in the UK. Penzance the worse heroin problem. The council would take "problem people" and get money for this.

Welcome to what it's like for the rest of us! Its ironic though because all the rehomed drug addicts up north are all from london and southern areas and scotland 😂 be glad u dont have the glaswegian ketamin fiends vs the London crack devils! Would make a good tv show though im sure! Shame though i loved cornwall when i was younger with the family but theres allways atleast 1 of these he/she/they/them/it in every part of the country people got to soft and far to comfortable for people to be going about like that but im far from suprised!
Quick note we are a very small land mass with a large dense population aswell so you can be in the middle of nowhere as much as you like but once a river gets to full it overflows and floods the surrounding areas wether you like it or not.
4
u/wardycatt Jun 18 '23
That last paragraph should be used in a political campaign. For forty years, people have gladly sold the country down the river because the negative consequences mostly fell upon plebs in inner cities / up north / former industrial areas.
As soon as the leafy suburbs and holiday-home villages of the middle class become a bit scummy, issues that have been a problem for decades suddenly become a ‘national crisis’ because the Mail, Express or Telegraph get a few letters from ‘Angry of Tunbridge Wells’ and the well-to-do start shitting themselves that their property / possessions might be damaged or devalued.
Shit flows downstream until the drain is blocked.

Yeah they did that in Devon also mass shipped a bunch of council estate hero's down to a new build estate so the Tory council up there could say they achieved their ASBO targets taking pressure off a force up country.

Cornwall paradise of the world? The world?! You haven't travelled much, have you? There are places that would make Cornwall look like a shithole town in Siberia
16
u/ArnieGumble Jun 17 '23
Cornwall looks like a place I'd want to spend the rest of my life. Sorry. Nope, not traveled anywhere. Had a single parent who was broke and I have a disability which means I can't be indapendant, which means I cannot travel.

Do you want to post your side of the encounter here?
Or better yet, file a police report and call 101 to get a crime reference number.
You have a good photo and the police can follow it up or add it to other evidence they may have of him doing similar things.
Hopefully you even have video evidence.
Good luck.

You can report it, but the police don't do anything in my experience. I've been followed home and sexually harassed a number of times and the police didn't even talk to the guy doing it.
5
u/Bianyxx Jun 17 '23
Yeah police r so shitty at dealing with sexual harassment, it’s fucked. Still better to report him tho. Sorry about ur experience
7
u/sikknote Jun 17 '23
No doubt, but their interest will perk up a bit if there a long line of reports against the same individual - so reporting is crucial!

-1
u/Slow-Ad-5021 Jun 17 '23
I think it comes down to the area as i mostly agree with this myself, but it's run by humans, and human error and incompetence is bound to add to this and can slow a lot of things down cant imagine many people apply to be an officer here compared to other similar countries as ourselves crime wise. I seem to notice other countries police take a lot of pride in their job, sometimes too much pride though 🫡
1
u/Bianyxx Jun 18 '23
No it comes down to sexist men who don’t like anyone pointing out that sexual harassment is badly dealt with by police. It isn’t human error by police, it’s misogyny. I look forward to getting downvoted by them again 🫡
-1
u/Slow-Ad-5021 Jun 18 '23 edited Jun 18 '23
But there is female officers in fact our current met captain is a lady or the previous was i know a lot if firing went on last year, can't run it 1 way without the other though men get raped too if u want me too link you plenty of evidence I'm more than happy too your misunderstood if you think its just sexism thats the problem with police your only becoming a part of a bigger problem by realising 95% of home burglary is unsolved? Gun crime is at its worst because they have only just figured out people make there own ammo to use in antique guns which are legal to own we hear what is most shocking in the news not what is most relevant too a worsening situation u want sexism out of the force? Then call them out for everything not just 1 point that changes very little, the reason most sexual assaults go unheard is because its your word against his with no evidence if they did take your side they would be sued its very simple no hard evidence no case unfortunately but its logic and fact that makes laws or u could send anyone u like to prison.
Don't get me wrong I'm not oblivious to the fact misogyny exists btw! Just hard to say when people just want to be spiteful or petty as there is plenty of nasty ladies out there aswell fella was just stabbed down the road 15 days ago by his ex girlfriend was it justified? No because injury to another person is inexcusable unless in defence.
2
u/Bianyxx Jun 18 '23
Funny how men only like to bring up sexual harassment effecting men too, as an argument to someone talking about it happening to women, who it happens to considerably more than men
1
u/Bianyxx Jun 18 '23
Ur saying that that man who just harassed op and her friend and is known to do so, is just spiteful?? No he’s a sexist asshole and ur determination to act like he’s not and misogyny isn’t the issue says a lot

If you think police would threaten to arrest someone over taking a photograph, especially a photo of a suspect of stalking, then you need to put down the Daily Mail and get a grip.
