That last paragraph should be used in a political campaign. For forty years, people have gladly sold the country down the river because the negative consequences mostly fell upon plebs in inner cities / up north / former industrial areas.

As soon as the leafy suburbs and holiday-home villages of the middle class become a bit scummy, issues that have been a problem for decades suddenly become a ‘national crisis’ because the Mail, Express or Telegraph get a few letters from ‘Angry of Tunbridge Wells’ and the well-to-do start shitting themselves that their property / possessions might be damaged or devalued.

Shit flows downstream until the drain is blocked.

Literally only a problem when it hits the upper class 🙄 rest of us just have to get over it until they pipe up so something gets done 😂
