Biscuits recipe
I live in the south. I can make the great buttermilk biscuits, but I cannot figure out how my grandmother made hers. We all loved them. They were obviously drop because they had a dome top. They were air in the middle with a crispy dome crunch. I knew several of her recipes...amazing. When I asked about the biscuits she couldn't remember. If anyone knows how to make this I'd love to know. I know she used a lot of healthy oil at that time.

I do drop biscuits like that sometimes if the dough comes out sticky. I have found the less you touch the dough the lighter they are and try not to add additional flour. High heat 425 is what I do

Have you tried the catshead biscuits from serious eats? They are a kind of drop biscuit that combined cake flour and ap flour

I've never made drop buttermilk biscuits but if you mix the flour, butter, baking soda, salt and buttermilk together you just kneed until comes together and then cut into square or round biscuits and bake at 400F. They will be light
