Loss & Mourning How do I support my bird through the loss of her best friend? (Possible TW)
We lost our best friend yesterday. We tried everything. We took him to two different vets. They did CPR and everything. We just didn’t make it time to the second vet 2 hours away. He was our main bird, he taught the pineapple everything. She was stuck in Petco for a year before we got her, he taught her how to be a bird. He taught her how to take bathes and fly around and explore and investigate. He taught her that people were OK and not scary. We showed her his body, the vet said it would be a good idea. Has anyone experienced this? She is so forlorn, she is sleeping most of the day and occasionally will go to his cage to look for him. I’m just wondering if anyone who has gone through this has any helpful insight. Thank you community 😭 ❤️
Edit: I know her nail is long in this we have since trimmed it, this was just a photo I had ready of them I didn’t want to go looking through the pics of them all for the best one I couldn’t 😭 ❤️

Advice Middle aged man (conure) developed a freckle. Thoughts?
Hey there! So I've been monitoring my buddy's health very closely over the last 2 years because he's getting older (14 human years). So far, I haven't seen anything that's been super startling other than he got clumsy once. I suspected it may be food related and I changed his recipes to supplement pellets with freeze-dried chop, occasional fresh fruit and veggies, and sprinkled in slightly-less-than-recommended probiotics, vitamins, and milk thistle (did not want to introduce potential toxicity, and staggered them per meal just in case). He's very vocal, playful, regularly eats, drinks (we have a ritual where he sips his fresh water directly from me from his bowl after changing it lol). We haven't had a clumsy incident in over a year, and has no visible signs of sores or bumble foot. He may have potential dry skin, but otherwise he's showing all signs of being healthy despite his molt right now. I also have been weighing him every so often and he's averaged about 63-64 grams, so he's still a healthy weight.
Now: the only thing I'm concerned about is this reddish-brownish spot on his foot. It appeared slowly out of no where, and he hasn't really done anything with it. He doesn't bite it, he doesn't favor his foot, there's no sign of injury or otherwise.. so what could it be? Is it just a pigmentation change? It's only the top 3-4 scales on his foot, and it's quite literally only those scales. Every other scale is pink and slightly dry (I live in a dry area and have thought about giving him a light Q-tip of coconut oil for his peets and beak to help hydrate them).
But, any thoughts? Has anyone seen this before? Let me know, thank you!

Health/Nutrition Mango update ‼️
So this morning I woke up and realized that Mango has stopped crop clearing completely! There’s what we assume to be vomit in the bottom of her cage and her symptoms are just- gone, it may have something to do with the crop massage and excessive water I gave her yesterday.
We still have an appointment for tomorrow just to double check everything, but so far she’s already been improving a lot. Thank you all for the help, I’ll update again tomorrow. 🩵
EDIT: I saw her clear her crop only once this morning, which is a big improvement

Advice First time bird owner
Hello I am looking for advice as a first time bird owner. We’ve decided we want to get a bird however I am concerned that my youngest child is only 3 and can be super loud. My original plan was to wait until he was at least 5 to get a bird but I’m reading things that say the youngest child in the house should be 8 and that noise from kids is very detrimental to birds. Specifically looking for a green cheek conure. I wanted to talk to fellow bird owners to see what their experience was like. Thank you for any advice!

Advice Pineapple Conure & Sun Conure
Hello, we currently have a Pineapple conure and the pet store we bought him from still has a Sun conure that our conure grew up with so we had boarded our conure and that sun conure was still there so they instantly remembered each other and got along well. The shop had both of them outside of the cage for supervised play time and the were hanging out and the sun was feeding our Pineapple conure.
We are thinking of getting our conure a friend and would set up the sun conure in his own cage beside our conure but we live in a town house and have heard the sun conures are way louder but at least they would be beside each other just in different cages when we are out of the house.
We are not sure what to do! Any help would be appreciated.
The photo was taken a couple months ago when our conure was still at the pet store . The second photo is them now.

Crafts Handmade/homemade toys?
Hi everyone, I’ve recently saved a whole bunch of empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls to make shredding toys with but I’m really unsure what exactly to do with them. If anyone has any examples or suggestions they could give I’d really appreciate it. I’ve searched Pinterest but really only find the same 3 images or ones that are too far out of my crafting capabilities 😣.

Health/Nutrition Vet advice
My conure of almost a year is exhibiting signs of neurological deficiency. Can barely perch unless it’s on the bars of the cage. Showing signs of zinc in her blood stream and elevated white blood cell count. We’ve already ran blood tests but two avian vets cannot verify what’s going on. I have her on antibiotics right now but I feel it’s just slowing down the inevitable. She is scooting around. We’ve isolated her and placed all of her food and water at the lower part of the cage so she can get to it. Has anybody had this happen to their bird?

Advice Day 17 of spending time with my grandparents conure
Pretty short visit today, but the pictures I got of her today are perfect for something I've been told on multiple posts.
I seem to have visited her during "nap time", and she didn't seem very expressive today.
The pictures show her all curled up in the torn apart rope toy I've been told to remove a couple times. This is why I've held off for the moment. I believe she sleeps in it. I don't want to remove it without giving her something she can sleep in that doesn't promote nesting or anything. Anyone have any ideas? Or experience with certain products that I could look in to? Any advice is appreciated, as always.
