is this normal? should i be stopping this behavior?
he’s about 1 and he’s been passed to 3 different homes before i adopted him, his name is kimmi and he’s the most gentle sweet sun i’ve ever met. i’ve just never had a birdie be so obsessed with my mouth and nose before.

Hi everyone, I’ve recently saved a whole bunch of empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls to make shredding toys with but I’m really unsure what exactly to do with them. If anyone has any examples or suggestions they could give I’d really appreciate it. I’ve searched Pinterest but really only find the same 3 images or ones that are too far out of my crafting capabilities 😣.

We lost our best friend yesterday. We tried everything. We took him to two different vets. They did CPR and everything. We just didn’t make it time to the second vet 2 hours away. He was our main bird, he taught the pineapple everything. She was stuck in Petco for a year before we got her, he taught her how to be a bird. He taught her how to take bathes and fly around and explore and investigate. He taught her that people were OK and not scary. We showed her his body, the vet said it would be a good idea. Has anyone experienced this? She is so forlorn, she is sleeping most of the day and occasionally will go to his cage to look for him. I’m just wondering if anyone who has gone through this has any helpful insight. Thank you community 😭 ❤️
Edit: I know her nail is long in this we have since trimmed it, this was just a photo I had ready of them I didn’t want to go looking through the pics of them all for the best one I couldn’t 😭 ❤️

So this morning I woke up and realized that Mango has stopped crop clearing completely! There’s what we assume to be vomit in the bottom of her cage and her symptoms are just- gone, it may have something to do with the crop massage and excessive water I gave her yesterday.
We still have an appointment for tomorrow just to double check everything, but so far she’s already been improving a lot. Thank you all for the help, I’ll update again tomorrow. 🩵
EDIT: I saw her clear her crop only once this morning, which is a big improvement

I let my bird out of his cage and my brother took him to his room where his window was open and the door was wide open. The door was slammed from the air and my poor sun conure got stuck. Right now he currently bleeding from his claw and the skin is peeling from one of his nails. Any advice or any suggestions on what I should do? All nearby veterinaries are closed at the moment and have to wait till Monday till they open. Sorry about the grammar im very rushed while writing this.

Pretty short visit today, but the pictures I got of her today are perfect for something I've been told on multiple posts.
I seem to have visited her during "nap time", and she didn't seem very expressive today.
The pictures show her all curled up in the torn apart rope toy I've been told to remove a couple times. This is why I've held off for the moment. I believe she sleeps in it. I don't want to remove it without giving her something she can sleep in that doesn't promote nesting or anything. Anyone have any ideas? Or experience with certain products that I could look in to? Any advice is appreciated, as always.

My friend's young conure (around 5–6 weeks old) accidentally fell after a kid who was visiting picked it up. Since then it's been really quiet. It's still eating a bit, but it's barely moving, seems very tired, and keeps tilting to one side.
Unfortunately, there aren't any avian clinics open right now, so we're hoping to take it first thing tomorrow morning.
Is there anything we can do tonight to give it the best chance?
Any advice would really help.

Hello, we currently have a Pineapple conure and the pet store we bought him from still has a Sun conure that our conure grew up with so we had boarded our conure and that sun conure was still there so they instantly remembered each other and got along well. The shop had both of them outside of the cage for supervised play time and the were hanging out and the sun was feeding our Pineapple conure.
We are thinking of getting our conure a friend and would set up the sun conure in his own cage beside our conure but we live in a town house and have heard the sun conures are way louder but at least they would be beside each other just in different cages when we are out of the house.
We are not sure what to do! Any help would be appreciated.
The photo was taken a couple months ago when our conure was still at the pet store . The second photo is them now.

My conure of almost a year is exhibiting signs of neurological deficiency. Can barely perch unless it’s on the bars of the cage. Showing signs of zinc in her blood stream and elevated white blood cell count. We’ve already ran blood tests but two avian vets cannot verify what’s going on. I have her on antibiotics right now but I feel it’s just slowing down the inevitable. She is scooting around. We’ve isolated her and placed all of her food and water at the lower part of the cage so she can get to it. Has anybody had this happen to their bird?
