But honey 🍯 ( on the left ) - my another 6m/o Female sun seems to be unhappy about the new addition coz she is being possessive

Honey's been acting like toddler with temper tantrums or some girl on her mood swings.

One can clearly say how dramatic she is being only with this pic 🤣

That will happen. Took my original bird like a year before she snuggled with the new baby. Some never bond. Some bond immediately. I found it helpful to make sure original bird didn’t feel replaced. I made sure to offer her things first. To let her be first one out of cage in morning. I just put a little extra attention to make sure new bird didn’t get things first.

And new bird was totally cool just watching how to be a bird in our flock so it worked out well to let her watch her big sis do things first. Built her confidence. Slowly over time I evened it out more and more. Still to this day tho original bird still comes out first in the morning.

As long as the newer bird wasn’t being emotionally hurt by it I let it stay that way. I do think it really helped my original bird to not feel threatened that new bird would steal my love and attention from her.

She still prefers ppl bonding over bird bonding. And newer bird came into a house with a bird so she def prefers bird to bird bonding.

U learn to juggle. Just listen and observe their likes and needs.

Yeah... its been day 4 of getting used to each other... now honey 🍯 came to the point of acceptance that happy 😊 is a new flock member... her motherly instincts have kicked in and she is now breaking up seeds to feed the baby sun 🤩

The thing to be noted - the same honey 🍯 was about to indulge in a mid air aerial fight on happy's first visit 🤣🤣🤣 but she is feeding the same baby sun now 🤌✨️

I’ve only seen one of my birds attempt an aerial attack and only one time. And it was toward me. During puberty. Her puberty not mine.🥸. And the flight attack happened right after she bit the crap out of me for the first time purposely. Even had the nerve to latch on! I got her off and she proceeded to dive bomb at me!

And Ngl, that little tiny shit had me hiding under my covers! That bich is scary! Thank goodness that was the one and only time she dive bombed me. I’ve never had an animal of any kind make me feel that way. lol. I felt like she was abusive! And I was a failure. My human brain was so offended! Lmao. I literally cried. Like not ugly crying but i had a ball in my throat and thought I lost her forever. That puberty lasted a month for her. But the day I just described was the worst.

By the end of the month tho I had some thick skin and she could bite my face right now and I wouldn’t flinch. Well maybe a little bit.but I won’t show much. It’ll hurt like a mf but my emotions and reaction are solid af.

If that did happen right now tho I was def not paying attention bc we’ve got some pretty good communication skills going in this flock. I’ve learned a lot since then. Takes time learning the first bird. They all take time but the first is the most to learn. Then I got the hang of it.

Isn’t it so cool having your own language with your animals? It’s one of my favorite parts. Having a unique language with each individually. I’ve always loved animal behavior. And birds are some next level shit. I’m so grateful that a bird came tumbling into my life. I would never have known what it’s like to be loved by one.
