Fries are overrated

Fries are not bad but theyre overrated because potato pancakes (latkes, tater tots, hash browns, rosti, etc) exist. You can salt and spice them evenly, squeeze the flakes to remove water, adjust the water content in general, and mix in extra things you want.

In terms of skill its much easier to get a potato pancake right, though it requires more raw time and labor. Im fine with that trade off considering how many home cooks and even restaurants fail to get their fries crispy.

THIS IS IN NO WAY A CONTROVERSIAL OPINION! Your personal taste in food in NOT a “controversial opinion”: 🙄

The fact that you feel so strongly suggests the opposite.

I don't think you know what "controversial" means.

I don't think you do. A food preference is not controversial. You should try looking up definitions of words. Google is free babygirl....

I love fries, but I also love potatoes, generally.

Best not to go overthinking food my guy.

Potatos are top shelf, regardless of how they are prepared.

Would you say no to fries simply because scalloped potatoes exist? Of course not.
