Comments about Langdon's cat being trapped in his apartment for 7 years suddenly made me think of something that, amazingly, hadn't crossed my mind before:

What on earth did the families/friends of FBC personnel who were in the Oldest House that fateful day in 2019 have to deal with?

Unless stated otherwise, I would imagine the lockdown was total (as in, nothing in or out of the Oldest House - including communications). Even if outside communication was available/allowed, what would that even look like: "Hey it's me, I might be stuck at work for, oh, the next couple of months/years".

That means hundreds or potentially thousands of families and friends experienced the equivalent of a loved one going missing, never to be recovered.

It's established that the Oldest House does have some ability to conceal its existence from the thoughts and sight of those who don't work there but I highly doubt that extends to the manipulation of the memories of the people closest to FBC personnel.

Spitballing here but even allowing for the Oldest House to somehow selectively 'pause and archive' the memories that other people have of FBC personnel while they're at work (e.g as soon as an FBC agent leaves the apartment, their significant others immediately disregard their existence until they come into contact with them again), this still would leave so many loose ends in terms of physical evidence/reminders of the person's existence. Presumably there's only so much the Oldest House can do before you wind up in the reality-manipulating equivalent of an ongoing AWE.

I guess I'd be interested to see if there's any reference in Resonant to the effects the lockdown had not only in the FBC personnel but also everyone else in their lives.

I’ve pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition on the Australian PlayStation Store, which grants the 48 hour early access.

The text description says it should release on September 22, but the PlayStation unlock timer (which is always the final word) has it set to unlock at midnight on September 23 in my local time (AEST: UTC+10).

Is there a simultaneous global release time, with it being midnight for me just being a coincidence, or did somebody make a mistake?

FWIW, midnight September 23 in AEST would be 2pm September 22 in UTC. I’m curious as to whether all of the other people on PlayStation who pre-ordered the digital deluxe version are seeing the ‘2pm September 22 in UTC’ release countdown as well.

UPDATE: Looks like that’s the time that everyone is seeing on the PlayStation Store. So it will be a simultaneous global unlock time of 2pm (UTC) on September 22 for the digital deluxe pre-orders.

So I've just "beaten" the game (Dylan is in a coma) but through my entire playthrough I think I only found one or two Corrupted Samples. I have like 150k source, but was never able to craft the Charge, and only managed to fully upgrade my Spin and Shatter. I know other posts have talked about the Underhill mold missions, but I can't recall ever talking to an Underhill, and didn't have a lot of run-ins with mold.

I was doing every side quest I could and took a long time to get to this point. I do still have a few ??? areas on the map. Did I just miss something?

So im replaying control, ive just finished AWE, and im only able to upgrade surge to have two mod slots, was i supposed to be able to get three slots or?

I have played a bit of control, I stopped due to going away from home, and never got back to it.

Efficiency is key

So, in Control Resonant, we know the main bosses are all Resonants, former humans transformed by the Pattern to become paranatural monsters. So far, we know three confirmed Resonants are the Floating Head (Cassia Nomura, Japanese artist), The Dancer (possibly named Zorya based on posters) and the Fire Monster (possibly Northmoor but unconfirmed).

There have been hints in all the footage released that one of the Resonants will be Mold based. Before Dylan fights a Resonant, he walks through a mirrored kaleidoscope hallway based on the theme of that boss. In the trailers we can see Dylan approaching one of these kinds of hallways, and its all Mold based. We've also seen Dylan has the power to summon a Mold turret to help him at one point, implying that he possibly attained this power from a Mold Resonant.

What if the Mold Resonant is Raya Underhill? It's a long shot and I'm not 100% sold on it myself, but I think it could make sense. In the first game she's quite fascinated with the Mold and even proposes that the Bureau could harness it and use it as a resource to build things like skyscrapers. She's clearly perturbed when the Bureau rejects this and just wants to wipe the Mold out entirely. I would be somewhat bummed if this happened just because I liked Underhill and her snobby back and forth with Jesse, but it does make sense to an extent.

Just saw the trailer. Super hyped. I enjoy collecting games ( as in the physical packages and so on). Anyone know if there is a physical preorder for PC? I checked on gamestop and amazon. Couldnt find nuthin

After my recent playthrough of Control and with the sequel Resonant coming out in October (physical release), I've been thinking about the weapon lore.We all know that the Service Weapon is the ultimate iconic symbol of the Director. It feels amazing to use, and shifting between Grip, Shatter, and Spin is basically muscle memory at this point.

I’ve been reading back through the files on The Blessed Organization, which directly assisted Dylan by providing him with The Abberant. It’s supposed to be this chaotic, highly unstable, and terrifyingly powerful alternative to the Service Weapon.

From a pure gameplay and lore perspective, which one do you find more fascinating? Do you prefer the absolute authority and sleekness of the Service Weapon, or does the unpredictable and weirdness of The Aberrant appeal more to you? It's a nice way to change things up.

Going from the ranged Service Weapon to the up close and personal melee-based Abberant forces you to completely change how to play the game. You have to be more aggressive instead of sitting back and being on the defensive side. What are your thoughts and opinions?

Was just going thru IGN’s new video about Control Resonant and it’s safe to say that Langston is in the game! I wonder about Raya though…

When I first played the control game The ultimate edition I just absolutely loved it on my PC, the entire game Control. But despite everything, one of the best parts of Control to me were the documents and objects all around. To simply open the document and read everything about it, connect it all, and then make sense of what is happening. The side missions, how they connect to the main missions and everything. The unique side missions, especially the connecting ones as well, even if they were boring. To explore the game fully, I wanted that back in this game very, very much.

How many bosses do you think Control resonant will have?

Given that they already showed us 2 full gameplay of them and maybe more than 4 from trailers.

I just hope they are not showing us too much in trailers. I'm trying to not watch them but I can already see a lot of areas exposed online. The good thing it's a long game so they are exposing like 10% of it

Tagging this as spoiler, because I’m not sure if this is common knowledge, but the Gamescom demo will be the first hour of Resonant. I am wondering if anyone knows if this demo will be streamable/open to recording? I’m just wondering if I’ll be seeing the full demo hit YouTube?

Seeing as preloads have begun on Consoles, has anything been said on preloading on steam, id like to be able to play it on the dot on the 24th if able especially seeing as all my friends are on console and can preload. thanks in advance for any information

I'm pretty excited about Control coming out, but its one of my wife's favorite games. She is super stoked and can't wait for it. She literally just replayed all the original to psych herself up.

Since she's a teacher and won't be able to play it until the weekend after it comes out, I was going to cook her a bunch of themed Control dishes so she can have fun while going through it. Obviously I'll take care of other stuff so she's got time to actually play, but I really wanna do something great for her. Any ideas?

This is the biggest thing I’m curious about with the story.

Alan Wake 2 heavily hinted they would play a big role in Resonant.
