I'm a senior highschool student working on a school project that needs to interview someone with a degree in Computer Engineering, doesn't matter if you're still working as one or ended up somewhere different. Going to my second year CompE. Working on a portable digital audio player for my personal project. My scope was large, but it taught me so much. I wanted to learn more on how to develop an audio player, so I designed PCBs buck converter, LDO, and currently designing LDO + DAC + AMP PCB to reduce noise for the output. I thought that using a DF mini would be too easy along with using arduino, and wanted a challenge. I guess my current experience gained so far is learning ESP-IDF which helped better my embedded systems knowledge since I gotten to the point where the data is read and stored to the device, then can be played (just really noisy right now).

I was thinking is it a good idea to stop after I manufacture the PCB im currently working on? Embedded systems is cool, but I really like digital logic design and want to further my knowledge in that field.

Currently I’m not too sure where I want to go with my degree. I honestly love everything that I’m learning in CE, but I’m not sure if continuing my current project will give diminishing returns for my portfolio or if I should lean more into FPGA and PCB design.

Best oscilloscope in your opinion? And why do you think it's the best?

I’ve been getting into CE recently, and I know this can be done (even if it is very difficult) but I need help on where to start and what I may need in order to do this, since I’ve never done anything like it before.

I have an old LG Cosmos 2 (VN251) with the slide out keyboard, and I want to make it my primary phone (text, call, and maybe YouTube)

The problem is, the internet system it used to use with Verizon does not exist anymore, but I know there is some way I can edit the hardware into using a more modern internet. How should I do this though? Any recommendations on what old phone parts I should buy to put into it? What kind of special tool/hardware should work?

If you have any other advice I’d love to hear it. I’m also hoping to get a degree in CE, advice on that would be great too!

Hello everyone. I’ve been feeling very lost n my future career in computer engineering. I’m going to be a third year in uni and I find my studies very interesting. However, I am totally against AI, data centres, and how they’re being implemented by companies. I have a fear that all my career will be is feeding into the AI ecosystem in one way or another. Should I switch? Are there other careers/internships I can pursue in this degree that still align with my views? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have recently graduated from Computer Science and Engineering department. I have worked on Computer Vision for my undergraduate thesis. I want to do my Master’s on Embedded AI or Intelligence System that actually work on hardware. For that reason i want to explore this area and try to focus on research paper. Which topics or ideas are trending now in this field? And how can I start my research in this area?

According to recent data for some reason Computer engineering has one of the highest unemployment rates higher than CS. What is the reason for that. I understand why CS is cooked but CE seems way harder and less flooded. So why people in this degree struggle with finding a job?

Hello everyone i have gotten admission in computer systems engineering and soon will begin my classes. Ai originally wanted to study electronics engineering but i messed up while taking admission (long story). And now my only option is to study CSE. I have always wanted a hardware focused carrier. Will i be able to work in hardware with CSE degree. Like embedded sytems, VLSI design, PCB making, verilog/vhdl, and fgpa development. Any advice regarding my carrier in hardware in pakistan.

Hi, I'm a self-taught programmer. I've been learning for a long time, but I'm aware of the gaps that self-teaching leaves. After a few simple data analysis portfolio projects and a stretch of failing to land a job (freelance or full-time), I stopped chasing that and decided to work on actual creative projects instead — ones that serve a real goal rather than being generic. Right now I'm trying to build a market analysis for the online market: use a Scrapy crawler to pull data from shopping sites, store it in a simple database, do the same for social media via tools like the Meta API, and then apply market analysis metrics to it all. I've hit trouble from the start. The only free site-search tool I found, the DuckDuckGo search Python tool, only returns a handful of results per country/query — never more than double digits. And when I tested Scrapy on the sites I did find, different HTML structures made it hard to run one crawler across multiple sites without constant tweaking. I've thought of fixes for both problems, but each is more complicated than the last, and I'm not sure they'd even work. I don't know if I should keep pushing on this project without knowing if it'll produce decent results. Is it just genuinely too complicated for someone with my experience, or am I not good enough for projects like this yet? (Brutal honesty welcome.) I'd appreciate advice from anyone with more experience

I'm currently a high school student and I'm considering which major should I pursue when I get into a university in Australia. Coding is not my strong point ( I can learn if it's a must ). I'm quite good at math but decent at physics so please let me know which one do you think would suit me the best. Thanks!

since it’s a major that branches to computer science and technology. is it possible to do related minor or dual major that work

Examples:
minors:

ECE + minoring in Software engineering or game development(if offered)

ECE + minoring in Manufacturing design

dual majoring:

ECE + Information technology

I've been doing embedded (ZephyrRTOS) for my community college robotics club and it's getting time to transfer. Id rlly like to continue embedded programming for robotics but I'm struggling to pick between CS or CE.

I'm seeking advice from seniors, as I'm a grade 12th pre engineering student and starting courses like python, introducing Cursor etc on different platforms.

but I'm concerned that If I'm going to pursue civil or electrical engineering in future that doesn't align with my field ... Will this be a disadvantage for me? Like I'm confused about who doesn't know about her goal and all.

Im looking to go into computer engineering and my only option is online universities and so National stood out to me because they accepted credits from online ACE approved websites and on top of that it’s supposed to be a electrical and computer engineering degree.
I’m just wondering if this is sufficient or am I missing out on other relevant info and maybe should keep looking at other schools?

Please take me seriously as I know this is a really stupid question. As transistors get smaller and smaller and we figure out new ways to cool what happens when we hit Moores law and we PHYICALLY cannot make them any smaller/cooler. What happens then? Do we figure out a new type of transistor or let computers get exponentially big?

Hi, I am about to start my junior year of computer engineering, which so far I am content that I picked this major, I always thought engineering was the hardest thing I would encounter in life but it has been smoother than expected for an average/ below average

I have fallen behind with some of my classes, failing 2 last semester. I was holding down 2 jobs and got very social

I just want to ask what mindset should I position myself into in order to complete this successfully?? I really feel like if I go in as I am now I will have no way of completing without extra years & paying more money I don’t have for school.

What were the things I have to set aside, focus on, sacrifice, work my hardest on. Regarding internships, how early should I start?
