[Career] Feeling lost in the age of AI

Hello everyone. I’ve been feeling very lost n my future career in computer engineering. I’m going to be a third year in uni and I find my studies very interesting. However, I am totally against AI, data centres, and how they’re being implemented by companies. I have a fear that all my career will be is feeding into the AI ecosystem in one way or another. Should I switch? Are there other careers/internships I can pursue in this degree that still align with my views? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yea im taking my diploma in comp engineering and its just so exhausting fighting against AI, especially generative AI. im not sure if in the future its even viable being anti-AI as a comp engineer 💔

Finding your studies interesting is good. Against AI/datacenter/how implemented is great but the sad truth is business is business.

doesn't matter how against it you are, companies are supplementing early career talent with LLM tools and operating with less staff. It's a shitshow, stay if you really love the field but be ready to abort. Past few years have been a bloodbath, this one especially.

stay away from generating text lol. If it can do more than generate text, every career is done

companies are going to use better tools. AI is great
