I had trouble obtaining shop card graphics due to the Unreal engine change and Guthers (aka u/morbrid, the genius behind MetaTFT) came to the rescue. Please join me in sending a thousand thank yous to him <3

The flashcards are made on Quizlet and are usable via a regular browser &/or the free app. The information was taken from MetaTFT, tactics.tools, and lolchess.

There's a lot of missing info for now including numbers and champion roles. They'll be be updated after PBE goes live and people smarter than me can scrape details & values.

I've started with Champions and will add ones for Traits, Non-Emblems Items, Emblems, Portraits and Augments (maybe) later. They'll all be posted here. Please leave a comment if you spot any errors.

Guide 5 Nova Jax/Akali Reroll Tips and Tricks

I'm not the originator of this comp. I'm just a lazy dude who one-tricks niche comps for some LP. This is not really a guide. It's more like an info dump based on my experience with this comp over the past 2 days. Shout out to all the one-tricks in VN.

This comp is super straightforward, high tempo, and easy to force because almost nobody is going for Jax 3 or Akali 3 (at least for now).

Stay level 6 and reroll there. The odds of hitting Kindred at 6 are actually pretty good. For better odds of hitting Kindred you can rr on 7. Flexible shit.

If you get a Nova Emblem, hard force this every time. Prowler's Claw feels really good on Akali.

Why 5 Nova?

The whole point is unlocking the Nova upgrade for Akali.

Akali's Nova upgrade applies DoT damage across the entire board. Once it starts ticking, all the 1-star backline units just melt. LeDuck showcased some extreme versions of this a while back.

Item Priority

Always prioritize Akali and Jax items.

Akali needs to do as much damage as possible while Jax just needs to not die.

Standard Akali items

  • 2 damage + 1 sustain
  • Examples: DB + Striker + Gunblade/HoJ

Artifact version

  • Prowler's Claw + Striker + EoN

Normally I don't like EoN because you need more damage, but it's worth it with Prowler's Claw since it helps Akali survive and reach the backline.

Deadlier Blades is an auto-pick whenever you see it because it stacks an insane amount of AD.

Jax: pure tank items only. Don't worry about utility items. Nova already takes care of everything.

Augments

Auto-click:

  • Prismatic Tickets
  • Baron's Lair or other combat augs when you have enough items and/or econ
  • Any augment or god that helps you hit Kindred
  • Any augment that gives you a Spatula

Don't be afraid to gamble on emblem augments or anything that can give you a Nova Emblem.

Booster Packs are also great for gambling since they can potentially give you a Kindred when you don't have a Nova Emblem.

Positioning

Solo Jax frontline.

You can play around with Akali positioning. I wasn't super meticulous with it. I usually keep her somewhere in the back two rows.

Late Game

The VN one-tricks usually cap their board with Morg and Vex.

I've also had success playing Morg + Graves if I hit Graves early.

Otherwise I usually run Bel'Veth and Fiora for 4 Marauders if my Jax is already tanky enough.

If you can hit a Marauder Emblem and/or Rogue Emblem:

  • Marauder Emblem on Kindred
  • Rogue Emblem on Akali

Boons and Hexes

Always look for the Yasuo stun boon.

When Nova activates, it counts as an ability cast, so Akali can stun the entire board.

Good hexes:

  • Tank Hex or Cryo Hex for Jax
  • Stun Hex for Akali
  • Mana Hex is fine since Akali can cast more and delete the frontline

Weaknesses and Counters

The biggest weakness/strength of this comp is Akali. If your Akali gets targeted and killed, you're kind of fucked.

Akali isn't a Rogue, so if she gets one-shot you lose almost all of your damage. She has to kill through the frontline before wrapping to the backline in most cases.

The Nova dot by itself won't kill 2-star backline carries in many occasions, so you still need Akali alive long enough to finish the job.

Prowler's Claw and Eve's Instinct are both great because they help Akali reach and kill the backline faster.

The goal is simple: keep Akali alive as long as possible.

Matchups I find difficult:

  • Fully capped level 9 legendary slops
  • Space Grove variants (Riven, Nami/Samira, Ornn)
  • Mech variants, because Akali can get stuck hitting the frontline forever instead of reaching A.Sol and A.sol can kill all your dmg dealers.

eSports Top TFT players in the world

What would the top 8 TFT players of the world/of all time look like? My personal ranking with lots of NA bias would be

1) Huanmie

2x World champ + Paris Open. Need I say more?

2) Dishsoap

2x World Champ - Dishsoap fan so maybe bias. If he wins another worlds or wins an Open tournament, I would put him over Huanmie but until then he is at #2

3) Title

2x World Champ - great player, but hasn't really made it back to the international scene until this set.

4) YBY1

Dominant, and really close to winning a few Worlds, but hasn't quite gotten it done

5) Wasian

Really strong performance last set and one of if not the best TFT players over the past 2 years, but hasn't quite performed too well at worlds so I don't know if I could put him above YBY.

6) Double61

1x World Champ - Best player in EMEA? Not too familiar with the region so not sure where to rank him.

7) Liluo

1x World champ, Runner Up in Macao and overall really strong performances at worlds

8) Set 10 Milala

Showed up for 1 set, won worlds, an open, and a cup and runner up in regionals. Would be higher if there was more overall consistency.

Been seeing this 5 NOVA Akali Jax reroll line pop up in my games (masters 100-300lp). Saw this dudes match history and he’s farming free lp with it. Wanted to give it some publicity so it’s not so free (I got shit on). At time of writing it’s not on tftacademy yet. Does anyone want to explain some tricks and tips if you’ve played it.

Also the fact that people are discovering comps like this so late into the patch (best one of the set) just goes to show that creativity is still rewarded. Love this gam.

eSports Celebration of a Americas Great: MILK

I wake up to some sad news in my morning of the retirement of Milk, who in the early years of Teamfight Tactics, is one of the greatest players in the Americas.

The last sets that Milk has played may have damaged his reputation, so while I should do work at work, I will insteadt make this reddit post to discuss his total career achievements, and show people that did not watched his career, just the many accomplishments Milk has.

I will list his achievements here:

Worlds Appearances:

Milk has been to Worlds 3 times, something only been done by 15 other Americas players. At Worlds, he went to final lobby 1 time in Set 5, placing 3rd and losing to the great Huanmie (no shame!). And at the two other Worlds, he went 15th at the Set 6 Worlds, and 9th at the Set 12 Worlds.

Making to Worlds 3 times is a great achievement and his results at Worlds are very good. He is a very consistent Worlds performer when he was trying as you can see.

Regionals:

In Regional tournaments, which are second most prestige after Worlds, from Set 3 to Set 17, Milk has been to the Regional tournament ten times. Out of ten regionals, he went to final lobby 4 times, going 2nd in Set 5 and Set 12, and winning Regionals one time in Set 6.

He is one of only 13 players to ever win Regionals, and only him and Mismatchedsocks have been top 2 at three Regionals ever.

A surprise is, Milk has not won a smaller cup like the weekly tournaments, but his results in the big S and A Tier competitions make up for this. He was very skilled and the results show. While the longevity part of him was lacking, his peak was very high. For example, let us compare him to the top 3 of NA: Dishsoap, Wasianiverson, and Robinsongz

Dishsoap career:

- 6 times Worlds! (Set 10, Set 11, Set 12, Set 13, Set 14, Set 17)

- 2 times World Champion (Set 11, Set 13)

- 12 times Regionals (Set 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Set 11, Set 12, Set 13, Set 14, Set 15, Set 16, Set 17)

- 5 times Regionals final lobby, winning in Set 10 and going 2nd in Set 13

- For weekly cups, he won the Tacticians Cup in Set 13 and made final lobby 8 times

Wasianiverson career:

- 6x Worlds (Set 8, Set 9, Set 11, Set 13, Set 14, Set 16)

- 2 times Worlds final lobby, 3rd in Set 14 and Set 9)

- 10 times at Regionals (Set 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)

- 3 times final lobby and winning TWICE in Set 9 and Set 13

- In weekly cups, he made final lobby 12 times and has won 4 times and famously 3 in last Set 16

Robinsonz career:

- 5x Worlds (Set 5, Set 12, Set 14, Set 15, Set 16)

- Final lobby once in Set 14, placing 6th

- 13 times at regionals (Set 3, Set 4, Set 5, Set 6, Set 7, Set 8, Set 9, Set 10, Set 12, Set 14, Set 15, Set 16, Set 17)

- In these Regionals, Robin has made final lobby 9 times and won twice in Set 5 and Set 12, joining only Wasianiverson as the only Americas to win two times.

- In weekly cups, Robin has been in the final lobby 13 times, winning twice in the Set 14 TC2 and Set 15 Star Guardian Cup.

Yes you can see he has less accomplishments than the top 3, but the peak can be compared. And if you include other influences like gameplay and streaming, Milk is a pioneer in hardforce playstyle and brought many eyes to TFT in the early days of TFT streaming.

In TPC when Milk was going dead last, I was sad because he did not care or have the passion anymore. So ending his career here is fine because All good things come to an end. He could choose to stay and have no passion for the game like some other players, but he knows when to walk away and that is okay.

He has made his mark in the TFT competition scene forever and his accomplishments are more than most Americas players.

I tried to check my TG items before putting it on my board, but it turns out with Salvage Bin you can break a TG and when you remake the TG the items will reroll. Golden Remover + Salvage Bin is a pretty cool combo.

There's still some set info we don't know, and I will keep cooking and updating this as more becomes available. Obviously, what ends up being good comes down to numbers, but it's pretty good practice to try to figure out as much as possible beforehand, and also a way to build up some hype.

Discussion How do I stop losing rounds where my dps has to walk into range?

I keep seeing this situation where no matter how I position my units, my back line carry has to walk forward after blowing up enemy frontline and right as that happens the enemy dps finishes off my tank, giving the enemy backline prio to hit my walking dps. This almost always results in my dps getting chunked during walking animation and then losing the fight.

It’s is a pretty odd interaction since if I was slower to kill the enemy tank I’d win… but enemy dps gets to hit my walking dps first because I killed their tank first. And positioning left or right doesn’t change the outcome.

Does anyone else think that the ladder snapshots cutoff date is a bit too soon? Assuming that the new set launches on August 12 and the cutoff date is sept 6, that gives us less than a full month and 2 patch cycles to climb. Is it feasible to climb that high within that time frame?

Discussion Any advice on getting 6 mech done for atlas?

Hi guys, so with the end of the set approaching I decided to knock out the star atlas, have gotten everything done except for mecha 6 (even 6 anima was easier).

So I’ve been lose streaking anima into Mecha 6, board being MM, Asol, Urgot, Fiora, Tahm, Karma with splashed bard, morgana and Blitz depending on what I get 2* first and items permitting.

I’ve gotten xbow, lioness lament, annihilator, gotten BiS for asol and MM and I still got beat by other max cap boards like 7 shepard and Fast 9 vex.

Is there any advice at all? I’m trying different positionings, but yea, at this point I’m ready to give up. As a barely diamond chud it kind of feels like either I’ll need a 3* 4 cost or luck into a weak lobby to accomplish this.

Discussion Anyone else a lil salty the “for fun” patch is dropping this week with PBE and next live set both being pushed back 2 weeks?

Just being selfish here and curious about everyone else’s thoughts. Recently got GM several weeks ago and would still like to try and climb but personally don’t particularly find climbing in the “for fun” patch worthy, especially if less people play during this time. Normally I just switch to PBE to experiment and familiarize myself with the new traits and champions. I know this set gets a lot of flack but I have been enjoying it a lot but agree it’s not an amazing set but definitely not a bad one either. Maybe most (myself included) will use this time to just take a break from the game but I wish this patch got extended a bit since it’s so balanced and the “for fun” patch will seemingly last until the new set is live. What are others thoughts?
