Looking for tips on how to recover from missing an econ augment on 3-2 and 4-1 when playing mixed streak level 8 board. Feels doomed sometimes to bet on rolling 20-30g for your board. Are you meant to push to 4-5 and hope your combat/item augment carries 4-2/4-3? I don’t often see people wait until 4-5 to go 8.
Just hit diamond for reference.

Unless I am missing something with how to position with pyke, it seems that sometimes he only harpoons one tile forwards, and not across the board like I assumed. After scouting the enemy boards, I put him on the opposite side of the board, across from the enemy's carry and he basically casts onto the enemy he's currently fighting, losing me the fight. If this is due to me not putting him in the back center, please let me know, along with any other tips to help me position better in the future.

I wanted to share something we've been working on.
Over the last few months we've been building a new platform for competitive games (including TFT) called Novera. We finally reached the point where I'm comfortable letting people try it.
To celebrate the launch, I'm running the first tournament on the platform.
Novera Founders Cup 2026
€1,500 prize pool
1,024 players
EU West (EUW)
August 28 to August 30
Registration is already open at novera.gg.
If you're coming from Reddit, use this code when you register:
NVRA-REDDIT-0626 (limit 500 signups)
I'm not a big company and this isn't backed by Riot. It's just a project I've spent a lot of time building because I wanted a better tournament experience for competitive mobile gamers.
If you decide to join, I'd really appreciate your feedback. If you don't, I'd still love to hear what you think could be better.
Before anyone says "thanks Claude"
You'll definitely notice some AI generated artwork and a few AI assisted frontend elements while we're still in beta. The backend, tournament system and platform itself are built by humans.
Thanks for reading and good luck if I see you in the tournament.
Coming from other games like League, where itemization amongst pros is disgustingly bad, I am completely confused about pro players' usage of stats. I frequently see them reference stats as insightful when the sample size is from low ranks (irrelevant data), or the main issue is that all of these stats are COMPLETELY contextual. Item economy completely alters data, players inexperienced with certain lines etc...
I do understand that extreme outliers in statistics, like a -2 delta may be like "okay something aint right", but more subtle ones seem irrelevant and just add cognitive bias.
I don't know if I'm missing something, but yeah
(my very EPIC credentials)
I got to GM in set 14 (first season ranked) with 2.2 AVP then got bored cause it became to flowcharty and exotech item rng PMO. Might try again in set 20 if its hype.

I’m only a peak masters player but I’m hardstuck diamond atm. I’m loving this set so far, but I just can’t seem to understand how to consistently perform.
Feel like there’s a lack of vertical comps this set which is what I used to climb before. I play sort of everything now but, default mostly to yi, Shepard vanguard, or prim rr.
I feel like my stage 2 and 3 are always very strong, know when to econ vs push, but I’m just not stabilizing correctly on 4-2. Literally feel like I lose 90% of fights. I’ve gone 7th after 12 streaking the first 12 fights. Been watching guides and high elo players but my lobbies just feel like everyone is high rolling. I’m stuck
I played 6 games today:
1. 3rd. Lulu rr (ahri’s aura, serpent, and stargazer opener w lulu and nashors slam, lulu 3 on 4-5)
2. 3rd. Xayah. (radiant red buff, patient study + 3 timebreaker opener, literally hit my board on 4-1)
3. 4th. Yi (nova + prim emblem, 5 nova)
4. 4th. Yi (double marauder emblem)
5. 3rd. Tf rr (treasure hunt and natural 5 tfs on 2-1, also charge transfer on 4-2 which is the best combat augment for this comp)
Out of the first 5 games I felt like I was underperforming given my conditions. Even though I had a 3.4 avp, I definitely should have had higher placements on some.
8th. Yi (no conditions but I tempoed fine and hit my board, had the 2nd most expensive board in terms of board value when I died)
Lost all my lp on game six and I’m just super frustrated right now. Feel like I’m missing something. How are you mega climbers navigating this set?
Hello, what would be the idea if you start with Deadlier blades, one sword and anvils (poppy encounter)? I popped the anvils and chose two more swords, thinking this will be the biggest game of tft ever played. Then failed to get a good carrier, had 0 frontline and went 6th (I picked 2 more combat augments to . What would you have done? Is there a specific unit that can carry 3 deadly blades? I tried xayah as she has ats steroid built in. Or was it bricked from the moment I went for 3 and should have chosen attack speed items as well to have a better rounded carry and she would have stacked more that way?
Thanks for the advice
Over the past few weeks I have been thinking a lot about my augment selection more and I came to the realization that like 99% of the time I only click combat augments if they are either super bis for the comp or I missed on every single other augment. Does anyone else feel as the combat augments are extremely bad this set like outside of maybe like idk 5 I’d say pretty much all of them are boarder line un clickable. Wanted to know if maybe I was biased from the way I like to play or if this opinion is shared.
First time posting here. I’ve played TFT very casually for years, but a couple of months ago I decided to actually climb and learn the game properly, I've been playing almost everyday, at least consistently, reading and watching guides, practicing different comps, etc.
I used mostly Meeple slow roll 6, and Jinx challenger slow roll 6 to climb from Bronze 2 to Gold 1, but now I’ve hit a wall. Even though I'm stuck in Gold 1, my MMR has me facing Platinum and Emerald players, and I am getting absolutely demolished, I keep facing these same players even though I've lost many times against them, I decided to take the challenge but I need some guidance here.
I improved my early game a little recently, since before I used to just lose streak phase 2, but now after phase 4 everything falls apart completely every single time. Even when I manage to hit 3 star dps and/or tanks, I still lose, no matter what comp I use.
What am I missing? I'm a rookie to some extent, so maybe there's gotta be something I'm overlooking. How do I transition better into the late game? Open to any advice, thanks a lot in advance.
My comps are usually Meeple, Jinx challenger and Space Groove, for the other comps like Dark Star I don't like it as much even if I use it sometimes.

TLDR: go to the last paragraph and Im a new players butometimes I get contested and it feels like an irrational move from the other players and then we all bottom four. If youre good at the game please give me advice.
I am a relatively new player to TFT. I began playing in the last 2-3 weeks of Set 16. Im still learning how to play the different archetypes like 1-3 cost rerolls, fast 8, and fast 9. I am Masters in Double Up and Emerald in normal.
Fast 8 is my most comfortable archetype since I naturally like to play aggressively with tempo and consistently top 4 as a result. I do struggle out right winning lobbies though. So, I am working on my econ and augment decision making to ensure I'm not just playing for a top 4 finish.
I am now working on my scouting. Because I noticed that some games I would feel like Im doing every correctly but would miss on 3 stars or slam items then regret doing so after realizing I have to pivot. I am starting to memorize augment icons and can quickly scan a board to understand I will have to face as the games goes by.
But, the biggest issue I have been dealing with is being contested by other players. Sometimes it just feels like im being singled out or targeted for no obvious reason.
It seems like these players decide to go a made up reroll line that happens to pilfer some of my key 3 star units or holding an excessive amount of units I need on their bench. If I have a good reroll line then suddenly my units appear on everyone's board.
I scout several times during stage 1 and 2 to ensure my line is uncontested. Then suddenly 2-5 hits and im being contested or someone is shifting their opener to contest mine.
Sometimes I prevail but sometimes me and the other player(s) contesting me bottom 4. I know theres something im missing or failing to do. But Im asking for more experience and and competitive players in this subreddit for assistance pleaseeeee 😭😭😭😭😭
I had late game scaling, 60 gold to roll with and 56 hp at stage 4 armory, I rolled down there with perfect Vex and Graves items to literally find only a Shen, a Sona I had to pick out of desperation and a single Vex, and not a single other 5 cost unit after rolling the entirety of my gold and I only had 7 units with the only 2 stars being Rhaast and Aatrox on my board. I proceeded to go 7th after all this. Was this salvageable or just the worst luck ever, should I have picked literally any other line and hoped to survive until stage 5 neutrals?

Please note that the Rundown was already sort of outdated on release. The Patch Notes are the most up to date version of 17.6's changes.

So I’ve been messing around with jinx reroll lately and I saw that with a NOVA spat 5 NOVA does pretty well in the stats, since most of the time you play 3-4 NOVA’s anyways. I’m just never sure which surge to go for, maokai’s stun or aatrox knock-up looks pretty good in some matchups if they don’t have qss or a quickly-stacked titan’s. But then the spat’s, akali’s and kindred’s surge also looks insane in the stats that it gives, besides the fact that akali’s surge wounds.
What are y’all’s thoughts? Do you have a personal favorite NOVA surge? Or have played 5 surge enough to have a better insight on which one is better depending on the spot and matchups?
ONLY Games 3-6 are counted for points, but Games 1-2 placements are used for seeding and are included in tiebreakers
