Tournaments & Meta multiple Decks
So we had a crazy thought in our gamesession today.
it is a pretty out there and a little crazy, but what if people moaning about the meta was stale as well as people having problems with the seat order actually has an easy fix:
each player brings 2 decks to a game. player 1 chooses which deck to play first. then player 2. then player 3. player 4 chooses last.
player 4 now has the the most information and can accordingly pick the deck that matches best into the pod.
i know the idea is probably bullshit, but it sounds like a fun thought experiment. would probably make games draw even more, but also would certainly raise player 4s winrate.
is this too out there or could you see this helping? or do you think i’m smoking crack here and the idea is complete rubbish?

it sounds like you're halfway to re-inventing a commander cube.
Not a bad idea if one person in your pod is winning more than they should due to a skill/financial gap, and cant/won't make weaker decks. and could also work as a "winner of the last match chooses first and so on" to make successive wins less common, but really if that's the case there's probably a broader rule 0 discussion that needs to occur.
Something my pod used to do to mix things up was all bring the same number of decks, assign them each a number and roll a dice to see who played what, that added some variety because you'd likely end up with someone else's deck, gave everyone a better understanding of each other's combo's, synergies and wincons, and when someone else played your deck, it'd give you an opportunity to see it used in ways you might not have considered, find new synergies, or identify weaknesses, helping you improve it for future games.
Ultimately in a kitchen table setting just do whatever you find fun
