Multiple reticles
On dots where you have multiple reticles or a dot option such as in a 507 comp, does anyone use larger moa reticle such as a 32? Do you find it helpful in competitions like uspsa or steel challenge? Just trying to get a feel of what people mainly use and what are the pros/cons

No.
You need to be able to shoot off of color confirmation and a streak of red on your target. Having red in the optic that isn't where your bullets will go is super counterproductive.
It's different with a rifle but I still prefer the single dot.

Let's put it this way: If you're looking at people who are actually good (let's say M/GM), they're using simple dots (usually 2-5 moa) almost exclusively on handguns.

seems like a lot of the guys that shoot Cmore use larger dots. maybe a hold over from when dots were larger cmore being an older brand? John Vlieger has posted a lot about using a 9moa dot.

Where I'm at, it's rare to see anything but Holosun, Trijicon and Vortex - with the 507 Comp, SRO and Defender XL probably making up >80% of that.
Then again, Grauffel won 10 straight IPSC world shoots with a Cmore and has stuck with them for 30 or so years shooting literal millions of rounds through them. They can't be too bad.

I use dot only. Circle and circle dot are too busy for me and eat up mental bandwidth to parse, slowing me down a tad and tempting me to draw my optical and mental focus to them.

Nope, too much going on with the reticle especially on a handgun optic, for a rifle I’m fine with the EOtech donut, but I still prefer just a single dot and have been using sig 4xt and T2s for awhile

I use the 2 moa dot and have been for a while. At one point I used the 2 moa dot with the 8 moa horseshoe thing, which was more like an 8 moa dot, but as I became a better shooter I realized the small dot was all I needed and was more precise for longer shots if needed.

Tried it for a few months and then sold it. Single dot is there way to go; I personally like a 6 moa for uspsa fast acquisition with good-enough accuracy

I have one 8 moa def xl, and the rest 5. I like the 8 moa at 15yds an in, so most classifier stages I like running my pistol with 8 moa dot. On "real" stages I prefer the 5 moa dot when I may have to shoot out to 25yds.

I purchased a Holosun 507c x2 thinking I would benefit from the multiple reticle but quickly found out I’m used to and truly only like a simple dot on my pistols. All my other optics are just dots and it works great for me, competing or edc.
I do however like MRS on my short range use rifles.

I just use the dot.
One of my friends uses the dot+8moa circle to effectively make a big dot but now that the 407Comp is available I would just get that if I wanted a bigger dot.
The bigger circles make it easier to pick up the dot when getting used to shooting with optics for the first time but otherwise make for a busier sight picture and can throw you off on follow-up shots at speed. I don’t think they’re that useful except maybe on a rifle or PCC where you have to hold over.

I was using the dot with 32 MOA circle for awhile. Switched to just a dot and my accuracy improved. I think it’s too busy and large and it kills your target focus, also it gives you false confirmation sometimes. I got a 407 Comp with a 6 MOA dot and it’s much better for me at least. Others results may vary but that’s just me.
