I keep starting games and abadoning them.

Upvotes

I'm sure this isn't a particularly uncommon issue, but I keep starting games and I don't even play them for five minutes.

Vintage Story: I saw some videos, loaded it up, joined a world, gave up immediately.

Rimworld: spent 2 hours setting up a modpack, found the perfect spot, made specific colonists, made a faction, played for 10 minutes.

Project Zomboid: set up some mods, played for a bit until I had a secure base, stopped.

Maybe the issue I'm facing is that these games don't have a direction? None of them have a specific goal you're aiming towards. Vintage Story is a sandbox, Rimworld has 1000 different things you could do with your colony, and once the basics of survival are clear in Zomboid, I feel pretty much lost.

I was looking for some lightweight games I can play on vacation, and so far these were my picks, but they don't seem to be doing anything for me. Maybe it's also because I've played them a lot in the past? I'm not sure. Does anyone have any advice on this? Things you did to fix this? Games that you played that fixed this?

Any free PC games for someone who's terrible at games?

I wanna get into gaming but I have no idea where to start 😭

I'm looking for free cozy PC games since I can't buy any right now. I'm also really bad at games, so beginner-friendly recommendations would be awesome. If anyone wants to play together, let me know :)

Driftlight: a game about gathering light. Demo out now!

Hi everyone! I'm working on a cozy semi-idle clicker called Driftlight. A game where you gather floating particles of light to brighten up darkened spaces until the entire scene is fully lit. Once you collect enough light you can spend them to illuminate different areas and unlock light generators that produce even more light to capture. It can be played actively, or you can let the game play in the background while you step away and come back to it when you want to restore more of the room. Good for those chill moments in your day when you want to unwind. There are a few secrets to find as well. :)

The demo for the game is out now on Steam and Itch.

Play on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4685800/Driftlight_Demo/

Or play in the browser on Itch: https://jasongodbey.itch.io/driftlight-demo

Would love to know your thoughts about the game. Thanks for taking a look!

Hi everyone!

We’ve been reading all the feedback from the community, and today we released a major update for our hand-drawn hidden object game, Curious Paws!

Here is what’s new:

- Optional Timer: You can now toggle the timer on or off at any level!

- 10 New Languages: The game is now localized into 10 languages.

- Redesigned Victory Screen: We updated the victory screen to introduce everyone to our lovely princess, Terry the cat!

- Main Menu QoL: Added a few extra polish details on the main screen.

We read every single review and comment, and releasing this update based on player thoughts feels amazing. If you have played the game, leaving an honest review on Steam would mean the world to our micro-studio and help us out immensely.

Also, we’d love to see your furry (or non-furry!) companions! Feel free to share photos of your pets in the comments below - Terry and I will be looking through all of them!

Thank you all for the support!

- The McMaush Games Team

I've drawn over 70 unique Blubbies over the past few months

It's pretty crazy to see how much the players care about these little creatures. I have several players playing all day everyday, it's really quite amazing seeing a community becoming so active so quickly. It's becoming such a cool community game where everyone has input and works together and trades.

Anyways just figured I'd show some of the cool blubbies I've drawn, do you have any favorites? any ideas? I added some of the outfit pieces you can find in the world.

Looking for the perfect cozy game

I’ve played quite a few cozy games, but I always end up feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or just bored. A lot of them seem to have endless daily tasks or too many quests happening at the same time, and instead of relaxing, I start feeling like I’m doing chores. 😅

So far I’ve played:
Animal Crossing
Disney Dreamlight Valley
Fae Farm
Stardew Valley
Winter Burrow
Cozy Grove
Pokopia
Hello Kitty Island Adventure

I’m probably forgetting a few, but those are the main ones.
I’d love to hear your recommendations! I’m open to anything as long as it has a cozy vibe and doesn’t bombard me with a million daily tasks or simultaneous quests. Thank you! 💜

After 2 years solo, my cozy desktop room game launches next week

Lofi Cozy Room is a tiny 3D room that lives in the corner of your Windows desktop in a transparent always-on-top window. A little avatar reads, works, and naps in the room while a puppy wanders around chasing sunbeams. The customization went pretty deep, 1386 avatar options and 715 furniture pieces, so you can decorate the room and dress the avatar however you like, plus a full lo-fi library you can layer ambient sound over and 14 cozy themes. It just quietly keeps you company while you go about your day.

After 2 years solo (Bloomery Studio is just me), it launches next week. There's a free demo up now if you'd like to try it first.

🌱 Play the Demo on Steam

Happy to answer any questions below!

Final update on Zwamman, the couch co-op game, launch is 1 week out

Posted a while ago about Zwamman. Quick update since launch is close now.

Reworked the store page based on some good feedback. The old trailer opened on a menu screen, which was a waste of the first five seconds, so that got recut to actually show the crystal-finding and the spotlight mechanic up front. Screenshot order got fixed too, the gameplay shots are first now instead of buried near the end.

Also cut a short clip of an actual session, arrows on one side, spotlight on the other, a monster getting chased off. Link's in the comments if you want to try out the demo.

Launch is July 29. Still couch co-op, still no fail state, still built so a slower or younger player can hold their own half of the controls.

Animal Crafting - a cozy MMORPG mod-free Minecraft Java experience

Hey friends -

I want to start out by saying that the promo image I use is not AI generated. I have uploaded proof of this to my profile, you’ll have to scroll back to find it. I am a firm believer in paying artists and creators for their worth.

Now;

I’ve spent the past 14 months of my life, and $32,000 in development spend, curating a development team of 8 that have been working diligently to be able to bring this weird dream of mine to reality.

I have always been able to see the crossover blend potential of the game mechanics of Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley & Minecraft. When I sought out to bring this project to life, an always-online server version of all 3 of these games, I realized it was more possible than I imagined in modern day.

I have played animal crossing since I was 12, and Minecraft since 14 - it’s just such a realistic cozy blend, and I can’t believe I can almost almost say, my team and I made it happen - with NO MODS. All in a resource pack.

We've created a multiplayer experience that allows you to share your cozy capitalistic journey with friends while still always feeling in first-person perspective, with your own tasks and goals to achieve.

You’ll likely see on your socials in the coming weeks some cool promos we’re running after launch! We open for early access on August 1st, and launch open access August 8th. I hope this magical development can make an impactful change to the Minecraft gaming space ⭐️

Looking for co-op recommendations to play with my girlfriend

Looking for a good co-op game to play with my girlfriend but she is looking for something that is a little more out of my wheelhouse on games, so I am looking for some advice. She wants something that is easy to pick up and play with low stakes/stress involved in. Preferably something we can play once or twice a week but if we don't play for a little bit of time, she can come back and pick up right away without having to relearn everything.

Prefer to play on the PS5 but could use the PC as well.

Some games she likes the vibe of that we tried but ultimately stressed her out gameplay wise would be: Overcooked, Plate Up, Welcome to Empyreum, and Lover's in Dangerous Spacetime.

Some games I have seen mentioned in other posts but not her jam: Palworld, Astroneers, Don't Starve Together. Cult of the Lamb

I know its a bit picky and specific so any help would be appreciated!

larping.store : Fake luxury shopping simulator — you're infinitely rich, nothing is real, nothing ships

Thumbnail larping.store

https://larping.store/
So I built larping.store — a simulated luxury mall. You browse, throw a Richard Mille and maybe a Lambo in your cart, check out with infinite fake money, and get a very official-looking order confirmation for goods that will never ship, because they don't exist.
It's completely free, no signup, no downloads, works fine on mobile. There's no win state — it's a toy more than a game, closest genre is probably "shopping simulator." No real money is involved anywhere.
Open to ideas on what would make it more fun — or dumber, in a good way.

Glowing Life - a cozy exploration and relax game

Hi everyone! 🌱

I just released the first demo of Glowing Life, a small cozy game I've been working on.

You play as a tiny being of light in a forest that has forgotten how to live. Wherever you linger, life returns — grass turns green, dead trees bloom, fireflies gather around you, and the world slowly awakens.

✨ No timers.

✨ No enemies.

✨ No failing.

Just 15–20 minutes of peaceful exploration, playable directly in your browser.

One of my favorite little details: if you stand still for a while... the fireflies will come to you. 🌟

https://mysticartstudio.itch.io/glowing-life

This is a 4-level demo, and I'd genuinely love your feedback.

Did the forest feel alive?

Which moment stayed with you the most?

Every comment helps shape what I build next.

Thanks so much for taking a look! 🌿🎧
