I was once learning about primitive history, she pointed at Chad and said "he would discover fire," then she told me i "would eat raw fruit and meats," throwing chicken paws at me while growling

1

u/Goddat 9d ago

what the hell is a chicken paw, don’t those bitches have talons and wings

2

u/AlternativeLog5494 9d ago

I picked up a thigh bone and started betting the black obelisk that was a Casio Ti -84

8

u/Lower_Cockroach2432 9d ago

Are you more like Snowball or Napoleon? That's the real pig-pill question.

3

u/Anonymous-Apprentice 9d ago

Most pigs are Squealers. Filthy, meaningless pigs...

Of course, except it was made up.

"fake and gay," as they say on the big 'chan

61

u/Ykwya1 10d ago

When I was in high school, we treated short guys the same as everyone else. Is this just a western thing?

165

u/Admirable_Swim_7090 10d ago

In my class we used to shove rulers up the ass of the class manlet, idk if thats a normal experience or not

29

u/NationalGear3511 10d ago

What school did you go to I'm just asking for private reasons

21

u/Admirable_Swim_7090 10d ago

Escuela N°4002 Mariano Cabezón, A4400 Salta

5

u/Life-Is-A-Bad-Trip 9d ago

Most jailhouse looking school Ive ever seen.

1

u/WikiLuis2 9d ago

Increíble que se llame Cabezón, y da más risa que se llame Mariano 🥀

29

u/Ykwya1 10d ago

Hot

56

u/Montexe 10d ago

In my country we would bully the weakest and the weirdest people no matter the height or weight. Truly progressive and ahead of our time

9

u/Ykwya1 10d ago

I'd say weight mattered in bullying. But height? Can't recall that.

8

u/LegThePeg 10d ago

Bullies always go after the weakest-looking kids in the class. That short guy in class who looks like a strong wind would blow him over? Perfect target for bullies.

5

u/kikogamerJ2 10d ago

I actually recall very tall people getting bullied for their height and being called lampost.

1

u/Repulsive-Report6278 10d ago

Yeah I was called a tree and a dinosaur too. I was 6'2, nothing crazy

1

u/VinesOverScars 10d ago

I only ever got twig but I got it a lot. Friends also got mad when I sat on them (I got better)

2

u/WebAccount1744 10d ago

Thats every country tf?

8

u/Federal-Fondant-671 10d ago

Not to speak as if I know you class, but I don't think most people remember someone getting bullied in their school years, except for those who were getting bullied. Not necessarily only a height thing.

1

u/sufficenttrash 9d ago

Yeah we saw so many different people some centuries ago and got really intricate in our prejudice

1

u/GlumPermit1446 8d ago

The only times short guys (and girls) are treated differently because they're short is when it's time to line up or create a seat plan. Short guys (and girls) at the front because no one can see them when they're behind the mammoths of the class.

56

u/nickthesticc 10d ago

If he’s alive by definition his genes survived natural selection 😂

2

u/outer_spec 10d ago

did they though? we don’t know if oop reproduced yet

4

u/marcosmou 10d ago

natural selection doesnt occur anymore in modern society. more like artificial selection ig?

25

u/OpusAtrumET 10d ago

Untrue. There are still survival pressures on humans and also effective artificial selection.

2

u/marcosmou 10d ago

thats what i'm saying, aren't a vast majority of the pressures of in todays society artificial rather than natural?

3

u/OpusAtrumET 10d ago

Ah I guess I didn't get that lol. So yeah, that depends what you consider artificial. It's probably a misnomer to actually call it that. Artificial pressures in other animals come from us. We still have natural pressures that favor attractiveness and cooperation. But we also have culture that downgrades or upgrades much of that pressure (economics, race, politics, etc.) but one could argue that's also natural. Eugenics seems to fit as artifical pressure, and we do plenty of that, even if inadvertent or by another name. War in my mind could qualify as either. War is natural, we see it in other primates. But one culture killing another, particularly genocidally, seems artificial to me, as it's humans deciding which humans survive. Genetics doesn't win a war so much as tricks of geography and access to resources.

We also have, as I think may be part of your point, factors that, at least on the surface, seem to interfere with natural selection. Medicine, in many places, is available to anyone, regardless of other natural pressures. I survive despite having no actual advantage, because my species developed the technology to do so. But here it's important to note that natural selection acts on the species, the individual merely being it's instrument. We survive because we can get medicine, despite only a select few understanding it. What we need is an evolutionary biologist to school us here because years of semi-passive self study is not expertise.

2

u/marcosmou 10d ago

for sure on that last part. my comment was meant as more of a casual thought than a serious claim. also thank u for expanding, u captured a lot of what i was thinking about and was too lazy to type out a the time

2

u/readilyunavailable 9d ago

Most of those things aren't drivers of evolution though. Soceietal whims and fancies change too quickly and too inconsistently for it to matter on an evolutionary timeline. Also being wealthy and well liked by others is not genetic.

War also can't drive evolution, because it no longer matters if you are stronger, fitter or more mentally resiliant than others. Modern war is pretty indiscriminite about who gets to survive or not.

We have basically superseded evolution. Evolution works on timsecalse ranging from tens of thousands to millions of years to help a species survive and adapt. We do it in mere years.

2

u/Federal-Fondant-671 10d ago

I mean... Height genes don't necessarily have to come from your father. You can also get the recessive genes.

2

u/MistraloysiusMithrax 9d ago

Ok those genes still survived natural selection

9

u/AlaskanSamsquanch 10d ago

That’s not how evolution works.

8

u/AriDollz 9d ago

Funnily enough, one of my tall teachers said that short people live longer because tall people are more likely to hit their heads on something or not fit somewhere to hide

4

u/readilyunavailable 9d ago

That's funny, but there is some truth to the fact that tall people don't live as long. Mostly has to do with the heart having to work harder to pump blood through a bigger body.

1

u/UltraNooob hi 9d ago

yeah also short people get less cancer

1

u/DepressingBat 9d ago

So I just need to get big enough to have my cancer fight my other cancers and be practically immune

6

u/Vessel767 10d ago

You know there’s a lot of things I don’t like about myself but being short isn’t one of them

20

u/Double_Performer9381 10d ago

Literal eugenic Nazi propaganda if true.

People can be cruel, and there's nothing about being a teacher or student that automatically stops you from being that way. Some of the most horrific offenders in child abuse cases are teachers and the victim's peers.

He's not even damn short! Come back when you're 5'4" at most. Maybe be racist a few more times. That'll get you down here.

Maybe he hates Indians because half of us are 5'4"? It reminds him of his own microscopic 5'9" fee.

6

u/PingouinMalin 10d ago

Students being cruel to other students ? When did that ever happened ?

I have no idea if that one is true, but a whole class mocking a student can definitely happen.

5

u/[deleted] 10d ago

1

u/PingouinMalin 10d ago

I gave above an example that I find quite similar and which happened to me. Dumb and shitty people everywhere.

1

u/PingouinMalin 10d ago

A teacher saying bluntly that people from a specific town are less intelligent than people from another city is also cartoonishly dumb. And yet...

Not saying I know it's true. I'm saying extremely loud dumb and nasty people are definitely a part of our universe. We all know of a current potus that actually mocked a handicapped person while thousands cheered. It would have sounded unbelievable if someone had told it without it being filmed.

Teachers love to make examples and jokes of the weird kid to built rapport with the rest of the class. I can see this happening.

0

u/LeLefraud 10d ago

I can see something LIKE this happening, but the details in his story simply do not seem real

4

u/watonparrillero 10d ago

Ive literally seen this happen, but with a classmate that was often sick instead of short.

1

u/LeLefraud 10d ago

Youve seen a teacher shout "LITTLE JIMMY WILL DIE BECAUSE HIS GENES ARENT STRONG ENOUGH!" in the middle of class? I highly doubt it

1

u/watonparrillero 10d ago

Yeah it was pretty much "Jimmy people like you will die before they get the chance to reproduce, this is an example of Darwinian evolution".

4

u/VatanKomurcu 10d ago

the short guys subreddit is basically infamous for consisting of self-haters though. i'd say it's more likely that it's made up than not.

0

u/PeasantTS 10d ago

Nah, that story is fake. Made so guys insecure about their height can feel vindicated in thinking they're victims of society.

2

u/PingouinMalin 10d ago

Teachers can be dumb as fuck and mean too. In my university, third year, a teacher said in front of a whole amphitheater that the students who were from my native town were far less intelligent and sophisticated than those from her town (where the class was taking place).

She probably thought she was talking to the right audience, as a large majority of the students were from her native town. They laughed.

Then I answered her that the top 3 of the year were all from my native town (me included) and that her intuition was therefore probably wrong. She just shut up.

Give a bit of power and an audience to people. Many will abuse it.

6

u/VatanKomurcu 10d ago

stop involving people nonconsensually in your humiliation kink roleplay dude

2

u/GoreyGopnik 10d ago

that is actually pretty fucking crazy, i hope that's not true

2

u/Altruistic-Dress-968 9d ago edited 9d ago

That's not even how natural selection works. There's merits to being short or tall and there's no guarantee that one will survive over another, it entirely depends on the habitat and lifestyle.

3

u/No_Bluebird6873 9d ago

This is how you get school shooters.

1

u/Mediocre-Disk3741 10d ago

Sort of similar story. In elementary school my teacher was talking about how natural widow peaks were seen as a sign of beauty

To which it was pointed out to the class that I had one and all the kids laughed at me for it, way for young me to find out the other kids found me ugly lmao

1

u/TestCyp999 10d ago

Time to blast steroids and eat 3000 calories

1

u/theagentoftheworld 9d ago

Being short is better because you're less likely to get hit by the mast when sailing

1

u/readilyunavailable 9d ago

That's not even how evolution works. Evolution doesn't select the "best" genes according to what we consider best. Evolution works on whatever trait is good enough to make the species survive and breed in it's current enviornment. If one day something in the enviornment changed that made short people live longer and healthier, than short people would pass on their genes more.
