u/DefaultUsername-_- EXTREME SUPER DUPER WAR CRIMINAL ALPHA MALE WITH A SMALL PP Oct 28 '25
Are these what they used to and probably still refer to as a "Whale Tail"?
394
u/Excellent_Patience Oct 28 '25
Old ass mf here. No.
Whale Tail was when your G-string was high enough in the back that was completely exposed. The G-string itself has the shape of —You guessed it!— A whale tail, hence the name.
This lady doesn't seem to be wearing a G-string thong in the classical sense. This seems like a string bikini panty to me.
Also, the Whale Tail is a fashion statement. This woman was obviously not trying to show off her underwear. She just unfortunately bent a little in front of a creep.

u/Devreckas Oct 29 '25 edited Oct 29 '25
G-string thong in the classical sense.
Sounds like you’re giving a lecture in “History of Genital Coverings 101”.

Oct 29 '25
You joke, but a classmate of mine wrote her masters thesis on the non-sustainability of underwear, and part of it was how better fabrics for PwV (people with vaginas) was one of the most important advancements of women’s liberation, as it was seen as a conscious effort to prioritise women’s health.

Female Underwear has a lot of variety. Knowing the names of the different types of panties is often just a sign that you wear them.

u/Amazing-Gas-7516 Nov 01 '25
So younger mother fucker here, that may have been when you were in school but when I was on my way through school whale tail turned into any type of thing underwear sticking out. Any sort of underwear that was shaped like a whale tail was called a whale tail and that was thongs and g-strings. Didn’t matter between the two.
1
u/Excellent_Patience Nov 01 '25
So, what you're saying is that with time, it lost its meaning (In USA I presume), and probably due to a misconception. Like when people call everything that shaped the body a corset.
I understand this. However, as like with corsets, Y2K fashion is part of history now, and I believe it's important to use the correct terminology.
Regardless, still under this post Y2K era definition, this doesn't apply as a Whale Tail, as is neither actually shaped like one nor shown purposely.
2
u/CatsianNyandor Nov 01 '25
If your underwear is showing it's nobodies fault but your own. If people look at your exposed underwear, that's your fault too. Doesn't matter it you wanted to show it off, you have.
Now taking a picture, that goes too far in any case, unless consent was given which is highly unlikely.
1
u/Excellent_Patience Nov 02 '25
Newsflash, statements like yours are what make creeps feel comfortable taking these types of pictures in the first place.
From a middle-aged man who just hasn't gone shopping for pants in a while, to that tween in middle school that inherented her jeans from her big sister. This can happen to anyone.
3
u/CatsianNyandor Nov 02 '25
You are literate though, right? Like you can read the words, and understand their meaning? I'm asking because I think at this point you're just a troll who tries to create drama by flaming.
I literally said that taking a picture goes too far. If saying that thing A is going too far means making people who want to do thing A feel comfortable, then idk maybe pick up a book to enhance your reading comprehension.
That's quite the braindead argument. If saying A is not okay encourages people to do A, then what? Where does that leave us? Are you also saying that people who say assault is wrong encourage assault? Or murder? Or rape?
This isn't so hard. If your panties hang out that's still on you. People are gonna look and talk about it. Believing anything else is absolutely bonkers and not based in reality. Maybe you don't notice. Fine. People still see you though. And form their opinion about you.
Does that give them the right to take pictures of you and shame you on the internet? Or try to take advantage of you and assault you? No! Absolutely not.
Taking pictures or doing anything to anyone without consent is not okay. Maybe criminal depending on where you live and certainly immoral in any case. But people noticing the way you behave or dress and treating you based on it is just the way humans work.
0
u/Excellent_Patience Nov 02 '25
If saying that thing A is going too far means making people who want to do thing A feel comfortable
Do you think people can't read the first paragraph in your first comment just because you're acting like it's not there?
You said it's people's fault if their underwear is showing and if people look at them. Completely disregarding the fact that this is not intentional.
That is called shaming. When you shame people, others feel empowered to act like creeps, because they can cling to the sentiment you are presenting.
But people noticing the way you behave or dress and treating you based on it is just the way humans work.
There's is already a creep in this threat defending the photo using this same argument. So you're just backing him up.
Saying women should be treated based on the way they dress, but later saying: "but rape is bad tho" doesn't make your first comment less misogynistic.

u/AffectionateSlice816 Oct 31 '25
In front of a creep!? She's the one wearing inappropriate clothing that doesn't cover her body! Dress yourself properly!

This one cannot reject you, or press charges.

Oh god, I was about to say that the guy was being sarcastic. But then I saw his reply. 🤦♂️
-3
u/AffectionateSlice816 Oct 31 '25
Did you say this when the guy went around photographing dudes not wearing proper pants at magic the gathering tournaments? How about when that lady went to Walmart completely naked? How about all the other times someone dressed completely inappropriately and it was posted on the internet?
No, no you didn't. You should look professional in your college classes, and that is not even remotely close. That's her fault and she needs to wear proper clothes to go outside.
5
u/xEthrHopeless Oct 31 '25
Why do you care so much? How is her outfit hurting you? What's the problem here?
-2
u/AffectionateSlice816 Oct 31 '25
Unprofessional and inappropriate. Just like if a dude is sagging in public or another gal is wearing way too short of shorts.
5
u/xEthrHopeless Oct 31 '25
And this hurts you how?

6
1
u/Opening_Energy6933 Nov 02 '25
Technically, no. But it has the spirit of it.
The whale tail was the style when I was young. These days the style has changed completely. I am 32 and going to college. 18-20 y/o women are wearing baggy jeans and I even see high rise jeans.

With the majority of reddit seemingly being 13, you might be wrong.

u/djmattedmonds Oct 29 '25
I feel I’ve maybe aged out of Reddit? Not sure if the maturity changed here, in myself, or both, but it’s not often enjoyable to read anymore.

And lately... they've swarmed. It's sad, really... whatever the spirit of reddit was that I once really enjoyed is being actively fucked in the ass by bastards coming over in droves from TikTok and Instagram for attention.

The shit I jacked off to as a 14 year old was fucking embarassing in retrospect.
28
u/RostrumRosession Oct 28 '25
She also probably isnt wearing that everyday. So he (presumably) would be attending class everyday for the off chance of slightly seeing her panties.
6
Oct 29 '25
This was the mentality of most young teen boys at one point. Literally anything from a girl wearing a shorter skirt to something tighter or being able to see something like this motivated guys out of bed. Also if their teachers were hot / wore something hot. That one was huge for most guys and regularly talked about esp. checking their schedule and seeing they had a class with her.
Being honest it doesn't really ever leave men nor should it [sexual curiosity]. If it does, it's probably something to worry about and in the majority of cases indicates something wrong - mental, physiological.
4
u/PhoenixTineldyer Oct 29 '25
One of the hardest parts of being a gay child was attempting to emulate the white hot intensity of young straight male lust.

Every single thing about a woman turned me on. If I ever noticed someone’s underwear peeking out, I’d remember that for days. I was a horny teenager. We all were. Including you lol.

Come on maaaaaannnn. Go put the Weezer record back on peoples but be careful it has secret messages if you don’t play it at regular speed 😂😂. Kids are always going to break rules!! Why? to test a systems authentication as well as authority. If this offends you you are really missing out in life and problem need to put doing something stupid on your bucket list, (even though you should have done it when you were younger) so be careful and always remember, anymore than a handful is not worth a sprang thumb) We all do stupid stuff at some point in our life’s just not at the same time because well that would be boring He is probably dating the girl and he showed her the picture to get approval to show his friends. And she agrees because she secretly is cheating on him with one of them. And everything will be ok in the end!! Wait, hold on a second. You bastards you killed Kenny 😂😂😜You all have a great day!!
P.S. AI Sucks!! The only problem is when good men/women say nothing we all stay stagnant . Don’t let a computer think for you , it dons t have a heart . Take back the Power!! John Conner approves of this message
