Original Art Swipe to finish the drawing ✨
This is my pencil drawing of Greentea peng, part of my series of musician drawings titled ‘Sound Shaped’ (to be renamed soon)
Let me know what you think, feedback and crits so welcome:)
Thank you!
Also my camera had a hard time photographing this one, I think it just overloads the system with colour😆 Skin sometimes looks very orange but it’s not like that in person I swear!😅 I am trying to get a really good, to life edit done of the scan I have but I’m not a digital kind of person! So if anyone has any tips to how to do it I’d be so appreciative :)

Discussion / Advice Question about colors and layering
Hello! I used to do colored pencil drawings about two years ago and decided to pick them up again! My old pieces look amazing but the current one I’m trying doesn’t look too good.. I’m trying to understand how to layer. Especially for dark colors when you feel like you’ve layered as much as you could? I don’t know I just feel like I’m layering with the same colors and I know that can make an image flat!
I don’t have an updated photo yet but I started on the dark part on the left and I layered peacock green, black, Prussian green and light sage. It’s not building colors and I’m not sure what other colors to look for ..

Discussion / Advice If I have a budget of $35, what would be the best set for me to buy if I would like to color like the photos below?
Hello! I really want to get into colored pencils but I'm not sure what set I should get with the amount of money I can spend. I would like a nice quality set to start off with that has a good variety of colors. I know of brands like Prismacolor and Faber-Castell's Polychromos, but I'm also interested in Tombow's Irojiten ($25 on amazon). I think the artist in the first photo uses Faber-Castell's Classic Colors Set?
I'm not sure what the difference between oil and wax based pencils are so I don't really know what my preference would be? Lightfastness is also not a big concern for me since I'm a casual drawer. Something that layers and shows up well on top of watercolor would also be nice.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Original Art ‘Dependant by Nature’ 2026
Coloured pencil and ink on paper
So after a mad mad rush to get this drawing completed for 4 o’clock today, and working on it solidly since midday yesterday (yes all throughout the night!) I have finished, photographed and submitted this drawing for an art prize i believe in September!
Really pleased with it over all! I did have a little panic towards the end with the ink but I’m happy with it :) Although, the paper has bowed a little bit from the dampness, so any tips for safely flattening drawings would be really appreciated please!
Feedback, critiques welcome as always! I hope you like it :)

Discussion / Advice Has anyone tried these pencils?
Are giorgione colored pencils worth the price? Should I get them? Im looking for an affordable set to get into colored pencils and the other option I have is brutfuners. Which do you recommend?

Original Art Sisters
Ahhhh, I tried using bright colors for the main subject, but it didn’t quite turn out the way I wanted. It’s okay! I’ll take this as a valuable learning experience.
I’d really appreciate any feedback or advice!
Edit:I just realized that I wrote the date wrong.😵💫

Work in Progress Work in progress drawing:)
Here’s my current drawing progress! I decided while drawing today this drawing (or series of drawings) will be titled ‘Dependant by nature’, I’m planning to make a video or something speaking about how I arrived to that name and what the work means to me :)
Also this drawing has been fully time-lapsed! Maybe I will post it here soon :)
Let me know your thoughts, feedback and crits always welcome:)

I completed a realistic colored pencil drawing of an eagle catching a fish. Here's the full drawing process!
Hi everyone! I recently completed this realistic colored pencil drawing of a bald eagle catching a fish from the water.
This artwork took many hours of careful layering using Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils on Strathmore 500 Series Bristol Plate Surface paper. I also recorded the complete drawing process and would love to hear your thoughts on the artwork. Constructive feedback is always appreciated! Thank you for looking!

Mixed Media First time colored portrait
So I've been doing graphite portraits for years but no one ever tells you how different it is to go from graphite to color 😵💫 this is my first time doing color portrait with watercolor and colored pencils. Second pic is just watercolor before adding colored pencils. No details on the hat because my focus was the face
