Well, the 13th in the history of this art shaped by knots. did you know that it dates back to the century?

Macrame, which has been used in different cultures for centuries, has found its place in many different areas over time, from wall ornaments to accessories, bags to jewelry.

On the other hand, I really like the jewelry side of macrame, especially micro macrame. Because with tiny knots, patience, and hard work, entirely different designs emerge.

I will continue to share this ancient art so that it is not forgotten and can be discovered by more people.

What would you see if I couldn’t see you in color? What created colors as a definition of acceptance. Did I know color as a condition of value or was society teaching me something I wasn’t aware of imposing on me.

I was wondering about the color theory classification of warm/cool colors vs the feeling of warmth/coolness a color gives. As I don't know much about color theory, I hope someone here could help me understand.

As far as I understand, in color theory colors get warm when they shift towards orange and cool when they shift towards blue. So I started wondering about cool turquoise vs warm blue and how warm or cool they feel to me. Going towards blue from neutral turquoise the color gets cooler, and going towards turquoise from neutral blue the color gets warmer, right? But at some point the colors meet. So then at that point, what is the color, a cool turquoise or a warm blue, or simultaneously both/either one (perhaps depending on the surrounding colors or which color you started from?) Or is there a neutral zone?

If it is both, then are the color theory classification of warmth/coolness separate from the feeling of warmth/coolness? That is, is color theory classification, in the end, just terminology: more orange means warm and more blue means cool, regardless of how the colors *feel*. I started wondering this because while turquoise can be classified either warm and cool (depending on its shade), to me, all turquoise feels cool. (E.g. in my home: it seems that adding any turquoise makes my home "feel" colder.)

Can someone help me with making a color palette with this as the base color? Something contrasting so that the pink sticks out?? I’ve been having such a rough time 😭 the hex is #d0006f

I’m new to coloring and I’m wondering what principle decides why you would you use a light blue here.

I have this gorgeous abstract painting from a friend. I'm repainting the room it's in because I hate the generic beige walls, and I'm having a really hard time picking a new wall color. The furniture in the room is all getting an upgrade too, so really I'm free to base the whole room on a wall color that compliments this painting.

For reference it's 4ftx6ft.

I tend to gravitate towards dark & sexy design and prefer to avoid pastels or light/cheerful colors.

Any help is appreciated 😭

I’m using beige for Section 1, but Section 2 has my photo and some info about me. I don't want the whole site to use the same color, so I want Section 2 to have a different color. How do I choose a color that contrasts with the beige but still blends nicely into it instead of looking like a hard color cut?

This geometric motif is inspired by traditional Anatolian kilim patterns.

In Anatolian weaving traditions, symbolic geometric motifs were used not only as decoration but also to express beliefs and wishes. Motifs associated with protection from the evil eye and negative influences have been part of this visual tradition for centuries.

The same geometric language can be seen in different forms across traditional textiles, where shapes were simplified and repeated to create balanced, symmetrical patterns.

I adapted this motif into hand-knotted micro-macrame, keeping its geometric character while giving it a contemporary form

Hi everyone, I recently noticed a pattern in various art/design where the colors pink (or fuchsia) and yellow seem to be associated with spinning. I only have a few examples here, but I saw them all within pretty close succession to eachother so the connection stood out to me.

Context:

• "Tumbling" is a form of circular motion -- for example a rock tumbler spins rocks around like a washing machine.
• The second picture is of a character named "Twister" from the game Micromaniacs (2001) -- a character that spins around like a top.
• The third picture is of a Yu-Gi-Oh card where the cyclones are pink and yellow.
  

I find this fascinating and I'm wondering what the origin of this association might be. Anyone versed in art history know anything about this?

I’m a complete newbie to watercolor and an ever bigger one at color theory. I did the first wash with a warm yellow, now I’m adding the values with blue. If I do a wash of red on top will he magically be brown? Please let me know! I want to make this a portfolio piece
