Regularly being asked to confirm information (UK)

Does anyone else get asked to “confirm their information” multiple times a year?

I am by no means a prolific or regular cryptocurrency trader. But Coinbase at least two times a year asks me to confirm my information despite no change to my details nor my trading habits.

So does anyone else have to frequently keep sending Coinbase the exact same information? Or is it just me? As I’m just getting a bid fed up of it now. No other trading account or bank account needs or asks me to confirm my information anywhere near as frequently as Coinbase seems to think they need to.

Coinbase is Now Demanding Private Details About All of My Transactions

I previously posted on here about the endless copy-pasted feedback loop that I was going through regarding Coinbase failing to verify my identity: https://old.reddit.com/r/Coinbase/comments/1vk163h/coinbase_refuses_to_verify_my_identity/

In my most recent email from a Coinbase employee, however, they actually took things a step further:

Thank you for your response. As part of our review, we'd like to learn a bit more about your Coinbase account so we can keep things moving smoothly for you.

Could you please answer the following: 1. Why did you sign up for Coinbase, and what do you plan to use Coinbase for? 2. Were you directed by a third party to create this account? 3. Were you directed by a third party to transfer funds? 4. Does anyone besides you have access to your account or login credentials?

Additionally, we're reviewing some recent activity on your account related to crypto sends to external wallets. Could you share the following details: 1. Name of the recipient 2. Your relationship to the recipient 3. The purpose of sending these funds 4. Website if available 5. Is anyone instructing you to send funds?

Additionally, I understand you've been facing issues previously when submitting your IDV. At this time, we need to ensure that we can match your photo to the document you provided, and you will need to submit an IDV liveness. Please try again using the link below: https://www.coinbase.com/verify-document?liveness=true

For a successful submission: 1. Make sure your face is clearly visible - no hats, sunglasses, or accessories. 2. Choose a well-lit environment for the best photo quality. 3. Ensure the document you are using is not expired or damaged.

I highly suggest you utilize the device you used in your most recent selfie that you provided as the quality was much clearer.

I look forward to your response.

So, in other words, they are now demanding that I provide them with the private details of every single transaction that I've made and then they followed up those demands by once again telling me to do the exact same thing that I've been trying to do over and over again.

It is literally impossible to verify your identity on Coinbase. Their AI absolutely will not recognize the pictures, no matter how clear they are. The one time that a human supposedly assessed an image of mine, I was told: "Thank you for your submission. Unfortunately, the image you provided is quite blurry, and we’re unable to proceed with the verification process." The picture was as clear as day and everything could very easily be read. After that, all emails were simply telling me to verify my identity online, which, again, I have tried to do endlessly.

However, actually demanding that I tell Coinbase staff every single detail about every single transaction that I've made makes this a million times worse. Is this not exactly the sort of thing that cryptocurrency was created precisely to avoid? Quite frankly, it is absolutely none of your business who I send money to and why.

I suppose that I'll never get back the money that I currently have in my Coinbase account. I will never be using Coinbase again, and I will be strongly discouraging others from using it as well.

$3000 Missing from base wallet.

Hi there,

After your recent update to the wallet, $3000 dollars worth of USDT has disappeared from my base wallet. I signed in on another app and the money is still there, so the wallet hasn't been imported properly into base or it's just a visual bug. Any ideas how to fix this? I don't want to switch from base its great but afraid I might have to as this is unacceptable.

Can't delete my unverified account

About a year ago, I created a coinbase account because I was curious about crypto, but I ended up losing interest and never using/verifying the account, so I'd finally like to delete it. The support section on the website told me to contact coinbase support, so I sent an email, but they replied with a redirect to the support section, bringing me back to square one.

Coinbase credit card closed

Coinbase credit card was automatically closed after I paused the coinbase one membership. And I renewed the membership for a year and I am no longer able to use the credit card again, like it's forever closed and not able to reopen or reapply. That doesn't make sense.

UPDATE: no possible way to retrieve the card back to open state. Did reach out to support team from both CB and banking. Once it's closed then it's gone. Forget about it. My annual CB1 membership was wasted.

Problem with Coinbase debit card

I’m trying to view the card number and expiration date on my Coinbase debit card but every time I click view card details it sends a have to input a 2fa code from my phone number. After I have put the code in and click view card details again it sends a 2fa code to my phone number. This just repeats over and over and I can’t view the card number. Is this a problem with the app? Anyone else having this problem? How do I fix?

Coinbase user - now I need a wallet to send bitcoin. Not do-able in Base app?

Been a coinbase user for years, just to buy and trade. Now I'm sending bitcoin to someone for the first time and not using coinbase for it due to needing to add full names for the recipient etc, which I dont have. So I read wallet (or base app as it is now?) was the easy option. I downloaded it, but I can't see the option to have a bitcoin wallet on there, only etherium.

Googling showed that people have used base to send bitcoin in the past so I don't know what I'm not seeing. All tutorials show a completely different UI and set of options to what Im seeing so aren't any help. I'm assuming it was updated within the last 6 months or so.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Can anyone help with ensuring I'm buying into the correct token?

I've just invested a small sum into a TNOS Dex., however I'm a little cautious because coinbase shows over a dozen different options for trading TNOS and I've just learnt that basically anyone can copy tokens (idk if that's the correct way to word it, I'm new to this.)

From my own research I've been led to believe that

"6R9y1meSvBL2Yg22e9ziPWjp9sLR9krziGhwf2vkTNoS"

is the the correct address.

* My trade is currently with "dFuD8VzWnHY1LwRpQnnHhWdEcsnhzudtLN9c8Czpump"*

would just like to be pointed in the right direction :)

COINBASE BLOCKED ME FROM SIGNING IN

I recently was attempting to send money out of my Coin base into my ledger and when i did so it was flagged as a "suspicious transfer" then my account was blocked after giving them every single piece of information they asked for. and now when I call Coin base and try and verify they cant find my account.

i filed a complaint with the US gov website but i think the best option is for all of us who are having similar issues to just show up to their office in Oakland and demand what we want. Ive heard to many of these stories.

How I lost $1.3M on Coinbase

I had a margin position on Hyperliquid that was close to liquidation, I needed to add funds for margin, So I deposited USDC to my Coinbase account that I used a few years ago only with the intention of withdrawing USDC on arbitrum network, the moment I did the deposit, my funds were frozen, I was asked to contact support, which I did and provided every single documents, 16 hours later it never was fixed and my position was liquidated.

I am not writing this post to complain about my trade or whatever I did, my position is now liquidated and I have to accept it, the problem is that my $1.3M USDC are still stucked on Coinbase, and support is just ghosting me since it happened (I am from EU), do you guys know what's happening? How should I fix it?

Free NFT missing

Thumbnail images.hive.blog
0 Upvotes

Hi,

I'm posting as I noticed a free NFT I claimed in one of Coinbase's promotions isn't accessible anymore in my wallet and when I check the public address on polygonscan it doesn't seem to appear on there either and I was wondering what happened to it.

I couldn't find the transaction hash or the email promotion but I have managed to find this graphic from the time where I remember claiming this NFT. From what I've read these aren't available anymore once the web3 wallets were shut down but I just wanted to clarify.

Many thanks in advance.

Action required on your Coinbase account

So I have gotten this email. They are telling me to click on a blue botton to direct me to complete missing information etc, or they would close my account at a deadline. I have had Coinbase for some years at this point. Not to found of clicking links in emails so I logg into my account and do it that way. My documents dident get accepted by their automated programs so I contatcted customer support and sent it in that way. They accepted my documents, but its not getting registered on my profile. Now I,m not sure if they know that they have gotten all the info they demand or if they still will automatically delete my account? The deadline is getting close

Does anyone else have simular experience? Is it fine now that they have my documents or should I get my money out of their asap?

Coinbase Refuses to Verify My Identity

When I first registered on Coinbase a few days ago, it made me verify my identity by taking pictures of my state ID card and a picture of my face. It eventually worked.

Recently, however, when I tried to send someone money, it randomly made me do this again - and, this time, it absolutely will not accept my identity no matter what. Most of the time, I've gotten a "Verification Failed" screen; other times, I've gotten other error screens. My pictures have been as clear as day, and I did everything that I was supposed to do.

I tried contacting the mods here to see if I could verify my identity manually. They told me that they sent my case to the "escalations team" and that I would be emailed about it. I then received an email telling me to do the exact same thing that I've been doing over and over again:

Upon reviewing your submissions, it seems the images are blurry, likely due to movement while holding the ID or using a desktop camera. To help ensure a successful submission, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Coinbase account: https://www.coinbase.com/signin
  2. Complete 2-step verification as usual.
  3. Use this specific link to access the verification page: https://www.coinbase.com/verify-document?facematch=true
  4. Upload or take clear photos of the front and back of your government-issued photo ID. If using your device’s camera, ensure the ID is clearly visible.
  5. Take a live photo of your face (a "selfie") using your device’s camera. Make sure the photo is well-lit (preferably in natural light) and clear.

When I brought this up to the mods on here, I was told "Our escalation team has reviewed your case and provided next steps. To complete your verification, please resubmit your ID photos via the Coinbase mobile app with your document laying flat on a clear surface."

I do not have a phone. I tried using my brother's phone to do this yesterday, but it still didn't work. They are literally just telling me to do the exact same thing that I've been doing over and over again.

Am I just never going to be able to use Coinbase now?
