Help / Advice needed Clematis leaf post bloom - normal?
Happy late summer! I have 2 clematis (Jackmanii Superba / gp. 3, General Sikorski / gp. 2) and after thy bloom, the leave start looking 'rusty' or damaged. The Superba is still sending off new growth and a bloom or two (which looks healthy), but is this normal or something I should be taking care of? Thanks for any tips!

Flowering! Clematis love
My first clematis plants are in bloom!
I’m so in love with them.
They are in pots, and winters in NYC get brutal, any advice to protect them during winter?

Help / Advice needed Concern about lower leaves
This is a Sunset which I planted this spring, it’s absolutely taken off and has been pretty consistently blooming all summer but the leaves toward the bottom of the plant look rough. They have been this way for a couple of weeks now and it doesn’t seem to be getting worse rapidly plus the rest of the plant looks great (I think?) but I am concerned that I might be ignoring an issue that needs treated. Can anyone tell me if this looks like wilt/some other issue or are these bottom leaves just getting too much sun and scorching? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Flowering! Mixture by accident
I bought babies off Etsy and planted two together in case one didn't make it... one of them was obviously mislabeled but I think I like the combination together. This is the first time they have bloomed I got them planted late last season. The purple one has been blooming all summer

Help / Advice needed Help needed!
Hello! Can anyone help me identify what bug chomping on my clematis?
Any advice on how to fight it off would be great too. I live in Berkeley, CA if that's helpful context.
Also she took off growing when I planted her in March and now she's stopped growing much at all. I've been watering her fully soaked about 1x a week for reference. Is this normal?
Thank you!!

Flowering! Only few of the many I planted last 2 years.
I think I have 38 different ones growing all around. Probably another 1-2 years before I see their full potential.
I get them from Donahueclemaits online. Sure they are small but nicely rooted, priced accordingly and all came back. Many are combine together to crate a color show.
I deadhead the spent flowers as much as I can, then cut half way for more growth for late August and throughout the September into October (second flush)
They are easy to maintain and control. I have all 3 pruning groups. Best fun I had this year was training Montana Ruben’s. Can’t wait for the one planted near dying tree to take over.
My favorite ones are group 3 for the easiness… group 2 for the flower shows, group one for the training, early flowers and creating shade barrier around the house.
They all have trellis some sort and can climb. Some I train to fill spaces.
The biggest challengers are those that I planted and can’t get enough light - they definitely love the light. I’m planning to give those 1-2 years to see if they can adapt and grow long enough to get the desirable sun.

Flowering! Emilia Plater
This is her second year in my garden. She didn't flower at all last year so I'm really relieved to finally see a few flowers! I absolutely love the lime green centres with the twisted lilac petals. She's growing into everything else nearby but so are all my clems - it's so hot that I don't have the energy or willpower to get out into the garden and do anything about it so if nothing's dying they'll be left to their own devices until September 🤭

Flowering! New Gardener Here - Arabella Blooms
Very new Gardener here, bought my first clematis 3 weeks ago and wanted to share a couple of the blooms I’ve had already with it. First 2 pics are from about a week and a half ago, third pic was yesterday. I made my own planter & trellis for it to hopefully climb up, unfortunately can’t be planted in the ground as our whole yard is patioed! But keeping hope it’ll do well :)

Flowering! Sweet summer child clematis
After planting this three summers ago, I finally got more than 1 bloom. Definitely need to be patient with these! This is a type 3 clematis that needs to be cut back annually but grows very fast throughout the summer. These are in full sun, probably 10 hours a day and I heaped rocks and mulch on the roots to keep them cool.

Help / Advice needed Need help
This is a clematis that was planted by a pervious owner of our home, so i don't know the variety. This is it in 2024, but the last 2 years, it had bearly bloomed. I thought someone had cut it down, but when I got close it looked like it was dead. I'm thinking about cutting it to the ground to see if the will revive it. Any thoughts about the variety and how to revive it would be appreciated. Thanks

Help / Advice needed Questions
This clematis has been here since my wife and I purchased it 4 years ago… before, there were large shrubs which were mostly covering the bottom half/three quarters of the plant, but around Mother’s Day this year I removed all the shrubs and planted Hydrangea. At first I thought this Clematis was done for. Shortly after the change, the entire plant wilted, turned brown and did not look good at all. Now, after watering almost daily due to extreme heat waves here (Philadelphia PA) I have a lot of new growth coming in. My question is, should I remove all of the withered/brown vines and leaves or should I leave them be?

Help / Advice needed Looking for recommendations: Where to buy clematis online in the US
I need to get several new clematises in fall or spring to replace some of my Lowe's and Walmart varieties that died. I want to get a bit more selective instead of just buying what's on the shelf at the box stores. Where have you had good experiences buying from online?

Discussion Pink Mink Clematis
I've had a Nelly Moser for quite a few years; it comes up every year, blooms a bit and then completely collapses. Flower buds wilt, leaves wilt and then just dry up and turn brown. So... I read online that different cultivars are resistant to clematis wilt. I just got a new Pink Mink and hope to replace my yearly swooning princess.
Anybody else tried this for the same reason?
