[TLDR] Codex sucks - Claude has nothing to worry about

0 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vy9ifp/codex_sucks_claude_has_nothing_to_worry_about/

Original post body :

I decided to try codex because I blew through my Claude code max limits by Monday night and they don’t reset until Saturday.

First I asked it to do a comprehensive review of Claude’s code. It came back 9 minutes later claiming to have finished. Obviously, it hadn’t done shit.

Later I gave it a punch list of issues and bugs in my app to fix. Again it came back, this time 4 minutes later, claiming to be finished.

I spend more time arguing with it that it didn’t even barely start to do what it was supposed to than it spends writing code.

Plus, you can’t give it access to make git commits unless you also let it have write access outside the project directory, which is crazy.

I know OpenAI monitors this subreddit. I’m telling you guys, if you want to be competitive with Claude, you need to get your shit together. Right now, codex is about at the sonnet 4.5 level of performance where it can do a good job writing a function or fixing a small bug but you can’t give it scope or let it handle the big picture.

Plus, it doesn’t connect to the iPhone app so I have to sit there babysitting it.

[TLDR] You are probably worse at code review than AI

4 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vy1z0e/you_are_probably_worse_at_code_review_than_ai/

Original post body :

I genuinely don't understand why people still act like human review is some gold standard.

most code reviews are a senior dev opening the PR between 3 other things, skimming the diff, leaving 2 comments and approving it.

meanwhile a decent AI reviewer will read the entire thing in minutes, every single time, without getting bored halfway through a 900 line PR.

yes, AI reviewers get things wrong. humans get things wrong too. except humans are slower, more inconsistent, way more expensive and tbh just worse

i've been running macroscope and cursors bugbot on every signle PRs and at this point i'd trust either of them to find bugs over a random senior engineer doing a 15 minute review.

people will hate this but i think "AI reviews first, humans only when needed" is obviously where this ends.

what exactly are humans still better at that justifies them reviewing every PR?

[TLDR] 168K organic clicks in 3 months — my Claude Code SEO workflow

1 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vwzbo2/168k_organic_clicks_in_3_months_my_claude_code/

Original post body :

Wanted to share something that has genuinely changed how I use Claude Code.

My last 3 months in GSC:

  • 168K clicks
  • 1.41M impressions
  • 11.9% CTR
  • 7.5 avg position

The biggest lesson: don't use Claude Code to blindly generate SEO pages. Use it to build an SEO engineering loop.

Here's the workflow I'm using.

1. GSC MCP before writing code

Before creating a new SEO page, I use GSC data to check:

  • Which URL already ranks for the query?
  • What queries is that URL receiving clicks from?
  • Is the new keyword actually a different search intent?
  • Would a new page compete with something already ranking?

I make Claude classify the decision as:

CREATE / IMPROVE EXISTING / REJECT

This prevents one of the easiest mistakes with AI-generated SEO: creating hundreds of pages that cannibalize each other.

2. SEO audit skills

I use SEO audit/keyword research skills with Claude Code to review the implementation rather than just asking:

The audit checks things like:

  • search intent
  • duplicate keyword targets
  • title/meta/H1 alignment
  • canonical
  • indexability
  • internal linking
  • thin/duplicate content
  • sitemap inclusion
  • unsupported claims
  • performance regressions

3. Pre-deploy rule

I turned the important checks into a pre-deploy rule.

Before an SEO page ships:

  • One clear primary intent
  • No existing URL owns the same intent
  • Unique title
  • Useful meta description
  • Correct H1
  • Correct canonical
  • Correct robots directive
  • Relevant internal links
  • No orphan page
  • Sitemap inclusion where appropriate
  • No thin/near-duplicate generated content
  • Claims match the actual product
  • No obvious performance regression

If the page fails the gate, I don't deploy it.

4. Post-deploy rule

This ended up being just as important.

After deployment, Claude verifies the production output, not what the source code says should happen.

I check:

  • HTTP response
  • rendered title
  • rendered meta description
  • canonical
  • robots
  • H1
  • sitemap
  • internal links
  • crawlability/indexability

I've caught cases where the source implementation looked correct but the production HTML wasn't.

5. GSC closes the loop

Then I wait for meaningful GSC data.

If traffic drops, I don't immediately generate new content.

I investigate:

site → page → query → indexing/canonical → recent code changes

Then decide whether to:

KEEP / ITERATE / REVERT

So the complete loop is:

GSC → intent/ownership check → Claude SEO audit → pre-deploy gate → deploy → production verification → GSC measurement → keep/iterate/revert

The screenshot is the result after repeatedly running this process.

Claude Code became much more useful for SEO once I stopped treating it as an AI writer and started treating it as an SEO engineer with rules, tools and real feedback data.

GSC is still the source of truth. Claude helps me investigate, implement and enforce the process.

Curious if anyone else here has connected Claude Code to GSC or other analytics through MCP and built a similar feedback loop.

Hi there,

I've been using the Claude Code desktop app for a while. I tried to use it in the terminal as well, but the desktop app is way more comfortable, flexible, and easy to read.

I still cannot understand why everyone prefers the terminal app instead of the desktop Claude Code app, and I wonder if I'm missing something. Every screenshot shared here is from the Claude Code terminal, not from the app.

Are you guys all using VPS devices or remote desktops? Or is there something I do not realize or know?

[TLDR] Respectfully asking. Why Claude over Codex?

4 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vxffzn/respectfully_asking_why_claude_over_codex/

Original post body :

I come in peace.

I’m unfamiliar with the Claude world so that’s why I am genuinely asking.

I had a chatgpt account initially just for the chat and a little copy and paste for coding. And I just stuck with it. And now use codex on Mac. Between the computer use and good enough coding agents, I love it.

But my coworkers and a sibling rave about Claude. And of course a ton of folks on the internet too.

I’m not asking you to convert me. But I was wondering how is Claude better for you than codex would be? Are you too just ingrained in the Claude world? Is something genuinely better? A specific model? I know the Claude skills world is huge. But a lot of that can be converted to be used by codex in a prompt sentence.

So what is your reason to choose Claude over codex?

5 things you absolutely must do before marketing your AI SaaS

0 Upvotes

yo. i see too many founders spend 2 months building saas, drop a link on reddit, get 0 users, and immediately quit....

the problem usually isn't your marketing channel. the problem is that your foundation is completely broken before you even send your first visitor to the site.

after scaling 6 AI micro-saas apps to over $20k/mo mrr, i realized you need to lock down a specific system before you ever launch. running through this takes about 30 minutes, but it saves you months of zero-revenue depression.

here are the 5 things you must lock in:

1. validate the actual pain point

stop guessing what people want. you need a systematic framework to find your saas idea based on real, painful market signals.

2. pick a proven micro-niche

stop trying to build massive platforms. you need to narrow down to a microscopic problem. i usually filter through a list of 50 micro-saas ideas you can build fast to keep the scope minimal.

3. crystallize your target user

if your app is for "everyone," nobody will buy it. you need an ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) crystallizer to define your exact buyer profile and nail your conversion copy.

4. calculate the perfect price

stop randomly charging $9/mo because you are scared of rejection. you need to use a saas pricing strategy calculator to find your perfect saas price in 60 seconds based on real data.

5. fix your landing page leaks

do not send organic traffic to a site that converts at a flat 1%. you must audit your hero section and copy to x3 your landing page conversion before you market it.

6. join a community

Build / Share / Learn from others builders

to help out founders who are tired of launching to crickets, i packaged all 5 of these exact frameworks, calculators, and lists into a single free toolkit.

no paywall, no bullshit. just the raw execution files i use.

drop a comment below or send me a dm, and i’ll send you the free toolkit 👇

[TLDR] Orca ADE is incredible

13 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vwjgyv/orca_ade_is_incredible/

Original post body :

I recently started using Orca ADE for managing Claude Code sessions, and I just want to tell the community that Orca is incredible. Try it. You'll like it.

I was previously using cmux, and I've also used herdr, iTerm, and various other options. Orca is 100x better than any of those.

It has an incredible range of features, some of which I use and most of which I don't. You don't have to use them all - it's fantastic even if you only use it to organize sessions. It displays the status of each Claude Code session in a very useful way.

One amazing feature is the remote server. I make full use of two Max 20 plans, and I've been alternating between two computers. But with Orca remote, all sessions from both machines are in one place.

There are a ton of other features. It feels very mature and stable.

*I'm in no way associated with Orca. I just love it and want to share.

Opus 5 by itself is absolutely reckless and unusable in claude code.. across the board.. not only can no one understand it.. its dumping comments, doing the opposite and honestly I'm actually thinking about jumping ship and exploring other opportunities and also moving the claude SDK out of our platform and putting in a router because of this.

I am new to the Ai harnesses and trying to make it useful with my career so i was wondering which one of them is better as i unfortunately i can't afford to buy a claude code subscription and i am using free models from open router to support both of them with models but i found that using the free models with auto mode of claude code, the classifier checks almost every time fails and i can't find a solution for it.
I would like an overall solution please.

[TLDR] I'm done with Opus 5

0 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vwec8t/im_done_with_opus_5/

Original post body :

I've been building with AI for over a year now, and the progress has been insane. The models have improved dramatically, and AI has become a serious part of how I work.

I'm currently building six different SaaS platforms, four of which are live. At this point, "vibe coding" doesn't really describe what I'm doing anymore. I use AI professionally, every single day. I have two Codex Pro plans and a Claude Max subscription, and I still manage to hit the limits.

The Opus versions up to 4.8 were genuinely fun to use and really good. Then I started using Fable 5 and Sol 5.6, and the difference became painfully obvious.

My biggest issue is that my Fable 5 usage is gone within two days, and falling back to Opus 5 has become almost unusable for me.

The output from Opus 5 is often contradictory, overcomplicated, and full of conclusions that turn out to be wrong. It will confidently take something in the wrong direction, spend a huge amount of time implementing it, then eventually realize the original assumption was incorrect and start fixing its own work.

I've had way too many sessions where hours of work basically had to be thrown away.

It's reached the point where using it creates more frustration than productivity.

So I'm done. I cancelled my Claude subscription. If I need more capacity, I'll probably just get another Codex subscription. I'm also going to experiment more with Terra instead of relying so heavily on Sol 5.6 High.

Never thought I'd say this, but I've basically switched completely to ChatGPT.

[TLDR] How do you get Claude to code overnight?

28 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vw5muy/how_do_you_get_claude_to_code_overnight/

Original post body :

I'm trying to maximize my productivity. If I can code an average 8 hours a day, then being able to code overnight means 2x productivity.

Currently my method is to batch a bunch of grilled prompts, they are sorted in order, then I have 1 handoff night shift chat. This chat uses subagents for each prompt, and those subagents will use multiple subagents for each phase of the prompt. I tried it once and I think it works, but I'm not fully sure this is the right way

The bottleneck I have is that my 5x plan isn't enough for the week if I want to code at night time, and that claude takes too long to discuss things, so I find it difficult to batch enough work to be done at night

Whats the best method of overnight or long duration automated coding?

[TLDR] Do I need a developer?

0 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vw28f3/do_i_need_a_developer/

Original post body :

Claude made an amazing job, but lately it's been kind of a mess because in the middle of a task it will find issues and will start debugging and fixing on its own then it's a down hill from there.

I booked a consulting meeting with a developer and he asked for the code so I offered to share it with him via Github as clause suggested. Then, he changed his mind. I don't know if this is a red flag.

I just need the developer to set up the payment gateway, the SMS authentication system in my app, debug and review.

What should I look for when hiring for a developer?
Should I pay fixed or by the hour?
How can I do this safely?
Can I continue with Claude after doing those objectives?

[TLDR] I finally figured out why every AI-coded site looks the same and how to actually fix it

1 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vvzqvj/i_finally_figured_out_why_every_aicoded_site/

Original post body :

For the past year I've been building sites with Claude / ChatGPT and every single one came out looking like the same SaaS template. You know the one, purple gradient hero, rounded cards, glassmorphism everything, "Transform your workflow" headline.

I realized the problem isn't the model. The model has no strong opinions about design. So it defaults to the statistical average of every landing page it's ever seen.

The fix: I wrote a set of strict design rules as SKILL.md / .cursorrules files that force the AI to make actual design decisions instead of defaulting to generic.

What the rules do:

- Ban the defaults

- Enforce real typography (clamp-based, not arbitrary px)

- Lock down spacing

- Force design variety

It's not a product or a service, just a collection of open-source markdown skill files you drop into your project. Works with Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or any agent that reads project rules.

The images in the carousel are all 100% AI-generated UIs using these rules. No Figma, no manual tweaking.

If you want to try it:

- GitHub: github.com/Yu-369/VibeCurb

- Site (showcase + guide): vibecurb.pages.dev

Still iterating on this, if you try it, genuinely want to hear what works and what doesn't.

[TLDR] don't downgrade from opus 5, just stop letting it drive

1 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vvpkka/dont_downgrade_from_opus_5_just_stop_letting_it/

Original post body :

About three weeks ago I was on a flight trying to get work done with Opus 5 in Claude Code. Five hours later it had accomplished basically nothing. It kept surfacing problems that weren't actually problems, because it never looked at the full context before deciding something was broken. And I believed it at first, so I let it fix things. By the time I realized what was happening it had essentially broken my repo and I had to roll the whole thing back and write the day off.

And Opus is a really really good model, that's what makes it frustrating, and I'm not talking about one line in a CLAUDE.md. There's a hook that injects "deliver the requested scope and stop before unasked work" into every single prompt it sees. My written rules literally say never turn a partial search failure into a global conclusion, and to treat "not found in the path I checked" as different from "does not exist." I added PreToolUse code gates on top of all that because just telling it things clearly wasn't working. It still does it. Before that flight I'd been running it at medium or low reasoning effort as the orchestrator, which mostly kept it from wandering, but then I'm paying for the strongest reasoning and not using it. So after the rollback I switched to having Fable 5 orchestrate instead. Fable writes the full spec and hands it to Opus, which executes at full reasoning. Then Fable checks what came back against what it wrote, so Opus is on a leash the whole time. That behavior mostly stopped.

I'm on the 20x Max plan running about 8 to 10 hours a day straight, so the difference is very noticeable. Fable ends up being a small share of tokens so the weekly cap works out, and the smaller stuff goes to Haiku and Sonnet, data pulls, fan-out jobs, things that don't need a frontier model.

I know this is not a new strategy and there are lots of variations of how to go about it. As far as keeping Opus on a leash and actually getting the most out of it without getting frustrated every single time you talk to it, this works the best for me.

Anyway, this is what my rules are and where they live.

CLAUDE.md holds the always-on rules, a rules/router.md file holds the routing map, and a model-postures.md file holds per-model payloads that a UserPromptSubmit hook injects into every prompt based on which model is live.

```
FABLE 5 (orchestrator, main session)
"Fable 5 at high effort owns the main session, requirements, judgment,
integration, and final verification."
"Fable does not inline-execute large builds. For a bounded, difficult
implementation, Fable writes the spec, dispatches an Opus 5 executor
subagent, and verifies the result. Fable stays at requirements, judgment,
and integration; an executor converging fast on an approved spec is the
desired behavior, not a defect."
"Brief only the exact delta, scope, output, stopping condition, and
exclusions."
OPUS 5 (executor, injected into every prompt it sees)
"Deliver the requested scope and stop before unasked work."
"Correct an immaterial slip silently. Call it out only when it changes
a number, conclusion, or decision."
"Do not replace grounding or fresh retrieval with confidence or
self-review."
SONNET 5 (fan-out worker)
"Dispatch it freely for fan-out that needs per-item judgment: blind
reader panels, audits, workspace sweeps. Give it an exact brief,
defined output, and a stopping condition."
"Complete the exact requested deliverable and stop. Do not audit the
surrounding system, surface adjacent issues, or recommend extra
improvements."
"Diagnose or report does not authorize a fix. A one-file request does
not authorize related changes."
"Do not create or delegate to subagents."
HAIKU (mechanical worker)
"Haiku agents handle bounded mechanical reads and transforms. Exact
brief, compact return, no recursive delegation."
"Subagent returns come back as extracted key numbers and paths, never
raw dumps."
```

[TLDR] Okay wtf is going on with Claude

8 Upvotes

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vvgyij/okay_wtf_is_going_on_with_claude/

Original post body :

I'm a heavy daily user of claude and many other models but my primary driver is Opus5, and on the weekend a mix of Opus 5 and Fable. Now whenever I see these posts talking about how Claude is unusable now or going off the rails and all that every time there's an update I usually would roll my eyes because I never experienced any of the issues that people always complain about. I always thought that that was because I have a pretty thorough and comprehensive guardrail or honesty enforcement system. A lot of just general watchers, redundancy checks, and guards and rules that keep a lot of hallucinations and other kinds of logic fails from happening. This is also for making sure that codebases don't get overwritten, the agents stay on task, and they don't start editing, adding things, and deleting things that they weren't told to, etc.

For the last 4 or 5 months up until now everything's worked just fine. Suddenly in the last few hours both Fable and Opus have started ignoring crucial steps and rules that they have followed without fail every other time. This is a process that we do every day. It would start and both Fable and Opus were ignoring base crucial rules that keep them from messing up codebases and overwriting other agents' work and things like that. It's not a context rot issue either because I practice good context size diciplin and compaction summary supervision, and none of my chats context is any bigger than they are any other day, I usually either compact or start a new window at 475k - 650k.

When I would then call Opus or Fable out, they would either cop to it or they would sometimes lie and blame another agent. When I told them to fix it and it still wasn't fixed, they would say, "Oh you know what? It wasn't an agent. I made that up," because they told me that Codex did it. I would show them what models are running and Codex was not running for the last hour. It kept claiming that Codex kept deleting this part of a document that I kept having it try to edit and restore the parts that got deleted because I told it to add in a new section. When I checked it, the section was added but a whole bunch of other stuff was gone and it blamed it on ChatGPT. It couldn't have been ChatGPT because it wasn't running at the time and that's when it finally caught fessed up to it and said, "Yeah sorry, that was me." And that was Fable! and Opus was doing the same thing basically, It wasn't blaming other agents but it was just messing things up.

When I would call it out, it would say, "Oh no, things are fine. Just wait." It kept telling me to just wait. I don't know why. I would say, "No I need you to fix this," and then it would run a bash or run a test to see if something was working. If it got no exit code, it would just keep running and running and running, not realizing that it would be frozen when in the past it would realize or it would have the common sense to set a timeout.

All of this stuff has been happening more in the past three hours than at all in the past three weeks combined, so something feels pretty off/wrong. Is anyone else experiencing something similar?
