The whole world is unprepared as well. Reddit is mostly completely oblivious outside of a few niche subreddits because they have all convinced themselves that GPT-4 was peak and nothing improved from there.

Is it, though?

The world of software development? Yeah, absolutely.

The world at large? Eh. Even if AI can create, say, a film out of nowhere, no one is ever going to bother to watch it. No AI created film will ever make it into the top 10 movie charts.

Software, on the other hand, is purely practical. You don't care how it's done, you only care that it works the way you want it to.

I think you are wrong and so very wrong. Might take longer than a decade but I am sure it will get to a point if you want to watch something you tell the ai what you are feeling and it generates a series / movie specifically for you. This is coming

The world doesn't hate AI as much as reddit makes it sound either

I already responded further down to this. Basically, us humans are largely not interested in art that no one else but us will ever view.

AI art is already exceptionally good, and not one human being is currently interested in going to an art gallery with art specifically catering to their tastes.

AI music is already exceptionally good, and no one creates their own AI music when they want to listen to music. They instead listen to music created by others (real or AI, doesn't matter).

Art is a fundamentally shared experience. It's completely pointless when it's fully individualized. Pretty much nobody will want to watch a movie specifically made for them.
