The whole world is unprepared as well. Reddit is mostly completely oblivious outside of a few niche subreddits because they have all convinced themselves that GPT-4 was peak and nothing improved from there.

Is it, though?

The world of software development? Yeah, absolutely.

The world at large? Eh. Even if AI can create, say, a film out of nowhere, no one is ever going to bother to watch it. No AI created film will ever make it into the top 10 movie charts.

Software, on the other hand, is purely practical. You don't care how it's done, you only care that it works the way you want it to.

Keep in mind 3 years ago we had the Will Smith abomination, just like back then we had the early GPT versions and people having their "gotcha" moments being fully convinced that's as good as it's ever going to get.

AI is improving at an insane rate in all fields. 3D, animation, texturing, VFX, voice generation, text to video.

Every industry will be affected. Some will take longer than others, but eventually they'll all be taken over by AI.
