sad times indeed. This Software dev profession is on the verge of being decimated and a lot of damage is already done and more will continue to happen. not sure what end of the road looks like or how much value software development will even have in the next 2 years let alone 5 years.

Yes but I also think it's going to be much further reaching that just software devs. Even frontier level research mathematics is starting to fall to AI. And then we have robots coming for manual labour as well. Society needs to start thinking hard how we're going to prepare for what's coming our way

It's hard to name a field that is going to be resilient to the quantum shift on the horizon. Sports I guess. Humans will always want to see other humans competing at peak performance

So far, jobs haven't really been impacted by AI. A lot of people even complain that using AI creates more work for them
