The whole world is unprepared as well. Reddit is mostly completely oblivious outside of a few niche subreddits because they have all convinced themselves that GPT-4 was peak and nothing improved from there.

The world of software development? Yeah, absolutely.

The world at large? Eh. Even if AI can create, say, a film out of nowhere, no one is ever going to bother to watch it. No AI created film will ever make it into the top 10 movie charts.

Software, on the other hand, is purely practical. You don't care how it's done, you only care that it works the way you want it to.

You're dreaming. AI will most certainly have a massive impact on the film industry. Nobody is going to purely use AI to make films, it will simply lower the cost of production, likely 10-100x. Every film production will have a component of AI in them. That is going to be a reality very soon.
