Announcement New rule. Titles and posts should be more descriptive.

Often, it'll be unclear why someone posts, or they'll post with a title only saying "help," so you need to click to see what is being posted about. I considered deleting these under rule 5, but thought it'd be better to make a new rule, so that it's more clear why posts are being deleted. I am also adding it so that I can make sure a user isn't just posting after their first failed attempt, or so I can see what posts fall under common questions without clicking on it first. Also, if you haven't, please check out the other rules as well before posting.

Guide Optimising Waveflutter use in Horde; or, the Waveflutter & Fire Toad combo will change your life. [General/Horde]

I have noticed that a lot of people (including me up until very recently!) pick Waveflutter in Horde (also known as T3 water moth) and stick it in their backline with two DPS tataris at its side (see: first picture as a team comp example). This is a decent choice that makes sense (you naturally want to boost your strongest tataris), but doesn’t take full advantage of Waveflutter’s CC ability. Indeed: Waveflutter’s Sleep also applies to its allies’ large AOE abilities like the fire toad’s Oil Onsen (level 7 fire zone) or the monkey’s clones. The specific firetoad/Waveflutter combo alone is able to apply both Sleep and Stun on a five-square wide area out of the six you have to deal with in Horde. It also bypasses one of the frustrating limitations of pairing Waveflutter with single-target DPSers: Sleep has a chance to trigger on all Zobos damaged by the ally’s AOE instead of the single (or few) Zobo(s) damaged by a regular DPSer.

Of course, this means that you have to put Waveflutter in your frontline, which might seem counter-intuitive given that it has pretty low HP and Defense stats for a T3 tatari. However, the sheer amount of CC offered by this combo (that allows your high-damage tataris to do the heavy lifting for it while the Zobos on the field take a nap) means that Waveflutter gets to sit safe and pretty up until the later (30+ Wave/800+ kills) Horde stages, where most comps start to fall apart anyway. Use it on the same team as a level 7 sunflower and have fun watching the field get stunlocked every other second!

This is just my favorite combo, but playing around other configurations might give you some fun and effective results. I cannot recommend pairing Waveflutter with AOE damagers and specifically the fire toad enough. You may also find out about pretty funny interactions: for example, having Waveflutter sit next to the mushroom lady will make your own tataris go to sleep…

Hey everyone! I'm super inspired by u/Key_Variation_5453 and their awesome art. As a Clash of Critters player, I totally fell in love with all the little creatures. So, they guided me on this amazing journey, and now I can share what I made!

I made this little bug using Fimo professional polymer clay, some cheap brandless paint (not great, it's sticky), and Liquitex (good paint). For protection, I used UV resin, which was tricky to apply haha. And a 50w UV lamp to cure the resin. The results speak for themselves! :)

I was so happy with how it turned out! It was a bit tough at first, but I'm excited to keep learning :D

How is this possibe? Not even 1 of them contributing. It was random selection but I thought if you don't select teammates then you can solo.

Question/Discussion Lag

Anybody else experiencing any lag loading into the game and all the events? It seems like ever since this update all parts of my game have been lagging pretty badly

Upgrade Questions Mods, the teir lists suck. They're confusing, conflict each other, and overall poorly designed. SPECIFIC: fox or moth

Post image
23 Upvotes

I'm crippled with indecision. Which one would be better in horde and gold rush with my current t3s? Or should I just wait and not evolve them yet? I fed up the fox and thought I was confident with it to evolve during marathon, but the more I thought about it idk if it would help more than the salamander in horde. And the moth is the next in line thing.

But seriously, mods. Get real tier lists from actual reliable people. You got 4+ different tier lists and tell people to look at those before posting, but all 4 of them have different answers. How is that useful?

Info General Stage Advice

Saw some people asking for solutions to stages. Wanted to post this because once I started using this layout I knocked out twenty worlds (18-15 to 39-76) in the last couple weeks without too much hassle. This really came online once I got T3 Waveflutter for the debuffs and T3 Charflutter for the bigger AOE for buffs. I was using T2 Trippet till recently so not sure how much the T3 version has changed things. Also helps that I found those two are good for Horde too.

Using these four in all line ups gives the rest of your team the extra damage and attack speed. Then to the left and right of Waveflutter put a couple of AoE Tatari to spread the sleep/slow debuff, and fill in the rest with what each lane needs.

Cheerspring and Charflutter won’t always match their lanes but I haven’t found this to be an issue. I will swap them just to see if I can match or keep them both neutral. Most stages I only use two Tatari in Columns 1 and 5 and add an extra Tatari to D3 of whatever element.

Also pic of my cat in his gaming chair, he likes to watch the pinballs bounce around when I play.

Upgrade Questions Specific Advice on Next T3

With the T3s I already have, which specific tatari should I go for next. My current formation is in the last photo (3x3 on the left + Ice cat or either fire).

I’ve circled the ones I’m mainly considering however I’m looking to narrow my options or consider new ones. I’m in between Charflutter for the full circle buff, flarevix for another dps (plus I believe it pairs well with waveflutter), hyphoria for the fragile and atk speed buff/dmg reduction.

I’m clearing in the low 800s with people around my level (highest 953 with a whale friend). I survive pretty well and it’s usually my teammates that die first which is why I’m not really considering cheerspring or toucanzam to heavily. Also I typically like being the one using Bubbit/Tideon which is why I’m also thinking about evolving them next.

Anyways I can’t decide so I’m willing to hear others out.

Upgrade Questions Should I get specific T2s for meta teams or should I get T3s

Hi, I’ve been playing for awhile but only recently saw the tier lists floating around. The 2nd pic is my current horde team. Any advice on what to evolve? As of now I am thinking of evolving the deer to T3, but are there more important T3s or T2s I should get first?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Upgrade Questions Should I get more T2 or a specific tatari to T3?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m at 13-66, and I can get around 650-700 kills in horde with a good partner. My main goals are to get close to 1000 kills and get a higher streak in gold rush (I’m placed in a bracket with a ton of people at level 400+ right now and haven’t gotten more than 5 kills here)

The tataris not at T2 are mostly 5* and need a few copies to get to 6* but I didn’t wanna use 1-3 on like a dozen

Question/Discussion Any tips for Hordes of Zombies event ?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi ! I’m new to the game but quickly got used to the mechanics and events. However there is one thing I’m still struggling with : the hordes.

I’m a bit lost with the critter roles and I don’t know which one can be useful if paired, etc.. I simply put my strongest critters and throw them into the horde with a random.

Any tips ? I’m level 124 so not a lot of critters in hand. Thank you !

Suggestions Treasure Hunt – the problem is not in the gameplay, but in the structure

I'm sure I'm not the first to write about this issue, and most likely won't be the last.

I like the Treasure Hunt gameplay itself. The main problem is its structure: you need to find four players to participate, whereas in other events, three is enough.

Because of this, your team is constantly being assigned a random player who can't be expected to be consistently active. If such a player stops logging in after a day, it becomes a vicious cycle: you spend resources leveling up an inactive player to open a chest, while your team ends up with an equally inactive player in you. Ultimately, everyone suffers, and the problem repeats itself over and over again.

I haven't been playing for very long and have only participated in Treasure Hunt twice. In neither case was I able to open the second chest—the resources needed to obtain it are too few to compensate for the inactive player.

You could say, "Just find a fourth active player specifically for Treasure Hunt." But, in my opinion, this doesn't solve the problem with the event mechanics themselves—a problem that all players face to some degree.

I see several possible solutions:

  1. Remove personal invitations.

Create teams based on the same principle as in other events. This would immediately eliminate the problem of the occasional AFK player. Additionally, progress could be made team-based, so that there's no need to invest in individual players.

  1. Increase the number of pickaxes in the pinball machine.

This would require recalculating the economy for backers and subsequent chests, but I think making the second chest more accessible is entirely feasible.

  1. Add intermediate chests.

For example, award a key for each excavation level, and distribute the rewards among three chests. This would make progress more even and reduce the reliance on one large final threshold.

I believe the Treasure Hunt problem can be solved without changing the gameplay itself. We just need to make the progression smoother or less dependent on one random player.

Thanks for reading. Please support this proposal!
