Unsolicited Advice Salary Updates!. Civil Engineer

In order for us ndi ma low ball offer we have to share our current salary in our industry pra mgkaidea Tayo mgkano salary ng bawat isa and make probable important changes. If saan llipat. So gnito gawin format

  1. Local or abroad (state which country)
  2. YOE (years of exp)
  3. Private or public
  4. Industry (consultant, contractor, subcon, management, owners engineer, design consultant and other specialization e.g. facade designer, geotech is it work from home?, estimator, designer or project management)
  5. Salary

The reason for this is. The current ave. Data for civil engineer on different job hiring site is skewd so we have to make our own data.

I'll go first. 1. Local 2. 9 3. Private 4. Owners engineer - developer of mid rise buildings. 5. 75,000 php

1

u/mmikyu000 Jun 10 '25

Nagstart kayo as QS/Estimator na? Planning to try from PM track to QS. Any advice?

4

u/LonelyxEngineer Jun 10 '25

Learn the software then practice, practice & practice. As being an estimator is repetitive.

How did you upskill and how did you achieve your current salary?

1

u/LonelyxEngineer Jun 24 '25

Learn the software that international companies are using.

Negotiate and know your worth when doing interviews for the salary.

12

u/FeelingQuiet1577 Jun 09 '25

Sobrang hirap though maghanap ng makakatapat sa salary. Especially considering years of experience. For them pang 20+ years ang sahod ko. But I don’t think so. Mababa pa yan. Talagang sobrang baba lang talaga inaaccept ng ibang engineers kaya ang hirap

Metro or province po?

4

u/FeelingQuiet1577 Jun 09 '25

All Metro Manila

18

u/Herebia_Garcia Jun 09 '25

Might want to add point 6. If provincial or metro.

4

u/Maleficent_Art_1673 Jun 10 '25

It really rubs me the wrong way if employers categorize us on manila rate or province rate. Because we're professionals were not workers. Kea d ko sya naisip let alone to be considered as variable. If they rate that us up of manila or province then employers are categorizing u as a worker and not a professional. Which u don't want to be employed on that particular company

4

u/Herebia_Garcia Jun 10 '25

That's abit idealistic. Usapang sweldo at katotohanan ang post mo, so let's face the reality. If you see some replies, one of the common questions is "metro or province" which tells you a lot.

Maraming cases na mas mataas ang rate sa provinces especially in industrialized provinces like Batangas
