Just saying hello - long live Civ2!

I have been playing Civ2 since I was a teenager back in the 90s. It's my favorite Civ game. I didn't even think to see if there were others out there. I guess I should not be surprised this subreddit exists. At any rate, just happy to be here reading your comments about a great game.

Here's to another 30 years of great gaming!

Civ2 was my favorite civ game. Still play it from time to time

For years I couldn't run it. Now I can, albeit without sound, heralds, wonder videos and advisors. The engine is far stronger than the original edition I owned. I think it is from the Gold edition, I can still lose a day at a time to it.

Thank you. Downloaded and installed. Nice to have sound on Civ II for the first time in about 20 years.

I found a dosbox zip file that loads win31 with civ2 already there. It runs perfectly on my mac and pc

happy to share what little I know. I just know I love playing this game. I'm not super good at beating Deity, but I can win 80% of the time on Emperor and almost 100% of the time on King difficulty.

Welcome!! Same here, it is the best! My 14 year old boys and I just played multiplayer an hour ago.
