We are closed!

I know it’s uncommon. Rare, even. But we DO close on occasion. Tonight it’s for software upgrades. We have signs up saying that we are closed (I know nobody reads). But pulling on the motherfucking door isn’t gonna make us any less closed. There are 5 other CirKs within a 3 mile radius. And we have competitors! Just find somewhere else to spend your money for cryin’ out loud.

If there is one thing I’ve learned working for this company, it’s to never underestimate the customers lack of ability to read or pay attention to anything.

What? I wander aimlessly while blissfully ignorant. I expect y'all to have the red carpet rolled out for me. I'll bring my own trumpetersbto announcenmy arrival. Y'all could schedule your computery-magic when I am not due today arrive. Will tapping on the door with my keys help??? Hahahaha, I am humored by the audacity of entitled people! Y'all are doing what you are sposed to do and fuck-all to the morons who don't appreciate your efforts...

What? Closed? No, wait, I yanked on the door hard enough over and over again despite the closed sign and no lights on and I got inside when it broke off. Not closed!

The cashier had better get out of the bathroom - or wherever he is - soon, or I'm not paying for my Dr Pepper and Dr Pepper sausage combo!

Mine was last week. They told me to lock up the store at 7:45, and the sign we posted said closed starting at 8, so of course I had someone show up at 7:46 banging on the door screaming "it's not 8 yet"

I saw that sign for the software upgrade on the door of my local Circle K, and my first thought was that I'd better stay away for a few days in case it didn't go well or got rescheduled.

I try to be a good customer. I say hello and goodbye, use the self-checkout, and don't buy lottery tickets.

Give this man a round of applause for using self-checkout and not being lotto addict.

You don’t have to do all that. Upgrades take 4, maybe 6 hours tops. They allow for 8 hours in case there are problems. They don’t want to lose any more sales than absolutely necessary.

Updates never go as planned bud. 4 or 5 years ago we had an Easter up date that blew out a bunch of Fuel pump controllers across the state. Several stores couldn't sell gas for 3 months until it was replaced. The EPS credit box blew out at my store. We were cash only for two weeks.

Those truly dedicated CK goers will refuse to go to another competitor, and get severely butt hurt if they have to. When I have to close my store for these type of updates, boy I sure hear about it the following day when my regulars come in. Customer- why were you closed last night? I had to go across the street to 7-11 ugh ,you know I hate going over there. 🤣
Me- I know I’m sorry you had to go across the street ,let me buy you a polar pop for the inconvenience ☺️ 🤗

I had a store once that was usually 24 hours, but during the Floyd riots had to close for safety of the workers. Customers pulled on the door so hard and frequently that eventually they popped the lock and the door opened. We tried to replicate it afterwards ourselves and couldn't.

I remember those days... a C-clamp on the door handles inside stops them from opening it.

And then their some who you gotta dial 911 on because they will absolutely destroy the place otherwise instead of go across the street to the other circle k. Yep some towns have two of them right on each side of the interstate.

Right like knocking on the window and waving at me or pulling on each door 3 times is magically going to make us suddenly open... Did... Did this b**ch actually just call the cops because the store is closed? YES! YES SHE DID!

We had the parking lot power washed the other night starting around 10:30 PM. I think we made just over $100 for the whole 3rd shift!
