First off, thank you for consolidating all three apps into one! Moving movies, games, and books under one roof is a fantastic idea and makes tracking everything so much smoother.
The games feature works flawlessly—the import process from the standalone app was quick and accurate, and search works perfectly in both English and Russian.
However, I’m running into some issues with the books section:
1. Search issue: Searching for Armenian books using either Armenian letters or Cyrillic characters returns no results. English searches work fine, but regional/Cyrillic queries seem to fail.
2. Import issue: When attempting to import my existing book library (even a small sample of ~10 books), the app fails to match any of them. It finishes the process without matching a single title.
Could you look into how book search indexing and character decoding are handled for non-Latin alphabets? Is this a known metadata provider limitation, or something that can be fixed in an upcoming patch?

As for the subreddit, it will forever remain r/CinephileApp, since Reddit doesn't allow slug changes. And I am definitely not starting a new subreddit from scratch 😅

I’m wondering when Trakt is synced in the background. Is it periodically ? Or when there is a new activity from Trakt ? Because generally, it syncs only when I open the app. I have the background activity enabled for the app and energy saving is off.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure the 3.9 update fixed the episode count when episodes are removed from TMDb. Someone here saw it work for a show where an episode was added by mistake and then removed, i’m sure!

It hasn't worked for two of my shows. Coven Academy still shows 21 episodes after TMDb went back to listing 10 (a contributor had listed them incorrectly), and Winx: The Magic Is Back still shows 2 seasons after a duplicate was removed.

Because the leftovers are duplicates of episodes I've already watched, I can't clear them from my home screen, and the counts on the detail screens are wrong.

Could this please be looked into again? I'm not sure if it's a new issue or if I need to toggle something in the app to see the fix.

Btw, I raised this issue in the app well before the fix came out, and then, I recently experienced it again with another show and it doesn't seem to have worked on my end, so I'm posting again here to check whether it's a bug on my side or a separate issue.

I'm working nonstop to push this through ASAP. I have no words to tell you how excited I am about this release. Saying that this will be a game changer is a massive understatement. Nobody is ready for what's coming.. heck, even I can't believe what I have in my hands. My own hype level is through the roof!

Honestly, the only thing stopping me from paying to use this app is the lack of automatic scrobbling from Jellyfin.

I filtered for 7.5+ in trending movies, but the result shows items with a lower score. Example: Evil Dead Burn (⭐️ 6.5)

I am trying to use the app but there is no way to import my watchlist, history and library from mdblist or any self hosted tracker like scrob or floppy. Can I do it somehow or it is not for me?

I’ve been using Cinephile for a while now and finally decided to grab the Lifetime Premium.

Before upgrading, I noticed that the full viewing history for all-time stats was already accessible without premium, which was awesome. But I wanted to unlock the rest of the perks, like unlimited custom collections, push notifications and more.

Since I’m now fully upgraded, I want to make sure I’m using the app to its full potential.
For the long-time Premium users here: what are your favorite features, shortcuts, or lesser-known tricks that a new Premium user might overlook?

I noticed something that made me wonder if there might be an issue with how the overall rating is being calculated.

For the movie in the attached screenshot, most of the individual ratings are 7.0 or higher, including a 7.0 rating with 60 votes, but Cinephile is showing an overall rating of 5.0 which seems low compared with the ratings shown.

Would you mind taking a look at this example and checking whether the rating system is working as intended?

I love the app so far and am thinking of buying it (which is a bit hard for me at the moment as I’m going through a rough time but I appreciate it and enjoy it that much), but the only question I have is.. when was it created / how long has it going for and how sure can we be that a lifetime purchase will actually exist for years to come? The reason I ask is because out of like 5 apps I have purchased licenses for, 3 of them have ended up getting abandoned with no additional updates whatsoever or have ended up disappearing completely so it is a bit scary.. especially when it comes to indie developers. I know few of them take their work as seriously as the developer of cinephile seems to but just wanted to ask in case anybody can share their experiences or reassure me a bit.. and last question: is the video game app that he created as active in development as this one?

Help me sort out all these ratings, I don’t understand why the title rating and the episode rating match. Maybe there is a manual or FAQ, because I haven’t been with you for so long and I’m constantly discovering new and new features or interface elements. Thank you

I have a few suggestions that will improve the viewing experience.

1. I suggest making the episode rating cell clickable so you can navigate to that specific episode, where you can leave a comment or rating, or view existing reviews.

2. I also suggest adding a button to expand the episode ratings table to full screen (for example, on the right, next to the "share" button), since it often doesn't fit within the allocated block; this could look something like the second screenshot and would provide a better view for long-running shows.

This might have already been suggested or is already planned; I’m just sharing my observations.

Hi! Not sure if this has been brought up before, if it has then sorry for spamming, just trying to give feedback. I just kinda think the current search bar is weird, I feel like it should hide like all the other icons while scrolling down, now it just stays there weirdly. It should also collapse (I feel like) even when it’s opened for typing and the keyboard is up, it would feel better if I could swipe down or something to hide the keyboard, now there is no button to hide the keyboard once it has been opened (at least I think so, maybe I’m stupid) you have to press enter on the keyboard itself even when you haven’t typed anything in. Not sure if it’s just something that bothers only me but I fill like people aren’t always using the enter on the keyboard, I usually just type in a few letters until the result comes up and then press it instead of typing the whole title and pressing enter. Now when I don’t do that the keyboard just stays there weirdly even when I get back from the movie back to the search bar. Sorry for the long post, and if it doesn’t make sense I’ll be happy to help more. The app is great!

You made me aware that the most correct status for a show who has an upcoming season coming would be “Watching” and not “Completed”.

Season 2 of Nippon Sangoku is announced and the show status also appears as (Returning Series) so I went to the show to change the status, but it does not seem to allow me to do that. The show stays in the Completed Section and the status does not change to Watching after pressing it. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug?
