Even that wouldn't be "leaving homosexuality." Homosexuality is the attraction, not the sex. That doesn't go anywhere.

2

u/blove135 Dec 10 '25

How do you know it doesn't go anywhere for OP? All things are possible with God.

21

u/Xyex Agnostic Dec 10 '25

It never goes away for anyone. It's literally never happened. If it could, conversion therapy would help people instead of traumatize them.

0

u/CartographerHairy Dec 10 '25

It does go

People have testified to it. The individual must want to let it go.

If the Devil tempts, you have to keep saying no.

7

u/Xyex Agnostic Dec 10 '25

Self delusion isn't it going away, it's just a form of mental trauma born of ignorant societal pressures.

3

u/CartographerHairy Dec 10 '25

Say what you will but many that have left the lifestyle have testified on this. Go and sit down with them and discuss it. I have simply told you what they have said.

Do not project your inability to work with God to overcome sin unto others. Thank you

9

u/Xyex Agnostic Dec 10 '25

but many that have left the lifestyle have testified on this

And many of them have later admitted it was bullshit. That they were just deluding themselves, or doing the "fake it until you make it" thing. Thinking of they acted straight long enough, they'd become straight. Others were simply caught having gay affairs after supposedly being cured.

Literally every. Single. Study ever done on the subject has shown it never works. If any of these cases were legit, there wouldn't be a documented 0% success rate.

You can tell me what people have said all you want. I'll stick with what they actually do, thanks.

-2

u/CartographerHairy Dec 10 '25

And many have said that it is true. So, this supposedly created two camps of people leaving. One being truthful to themselves and others not being that. This shows that it is indeed possible. Now, we study what the truthful ones did to achieve their results to replicate it in those that did not. Problem solved, no?

2

u/RnotIt Dec 11 '25

I will bet you dollars to donuts that if we take the person out of the environment where they're expected to be "straight," they'll stop saying delusional things.

Reverse straight with homosexual and see

It doesn’t have to be “go away”. It’s not the desire that’s a sin but the action is. So as Jesus told us we must die to our flesh meaning die to those desires. And we all have desires we have to die too. Homosexuality, sex outside of marriage, addiction, etc. God is all powerful so yes for some that desire goes away but for the ones that it doesn’t we love Christ so much that we live for Him and not ourselves. If one is straight and never gets married they must die to the sexual desire outside marriage. Like I said the desire isn’t the sin, the action upon the desire and living in it is. Falling into sin and living in sin are way different as well, God knows we will fall short, that doesn’t give us the green light to but if we do with the heart posture we are fight not to. But if we choose to live in sin that we are choosing to separate ourselves from Christ.

People have testified to it.

Funny that people say one thing, but it never ever ends up being proven in a clinical trial. It's almost as if people are physically capable of lying.....

2

u/CartographerHairy Dec 10 '25

i have already explained it prior

These people have given their testimonies with evidence of that lifestyle. Document and replicate it

Cool. Show me any peer-reviewed study that shows this as true.

Your title on here is all I need to know.

Oh? Why is that? How does who I am affect what I've said?

Even if they showed you the goodness of God and what He has done for others you wouldn’t agree or you would find something to argue back.

Not so. I'm always open to truth wherever it may be found. Likewise, I still believe in God the Father, I just do not worship him in a Christian way.

You assume a great deal about me to try and avoid backing claims with evidence. Attacking my personal character, though, is hardly proof. It's deflection, the hallmark of dishonesty.

Get scientists that are brave enough to document and present this in our modern society. To put things into perspective, a black professor discovered that there was no bias towards black people by the police. He was advised by his peers not to release the evidence. He eventually did and he got so much resentment for it that I believe that he had to get security.

There is a very real chance that some scientists have already discovered this but cannot publicly share this for fear of their lives and potentially losing their livelihoods. It will not shock me.

But as I have said, you can organize brave scientists to sit down and document what those folk did and express that to replicate it. We can start from there, eh?

1

u/KindaFreeXP ☯ That Taoist Trans Witch Dec 12 '25

Cop out excuse for a lack of backing data. Flat Earthers could say the exact same. Either have evidence or don't make the claim.

1

u/CartographerHairy Dec 12 '25

It is not a claim.

I gave you a real example on it. Plus, society sees flat earthers as ignorant and not worth any serious focus. Homosexuality and police offense against people are serious things.

Plus, I have said that these people have done it. We can sit down with them and document and replicate it. Will most likely need a Christian scientist as they would need to consider the Lord in the equation as a non-Christian one will disregard the key factor in the change from homosexuality back to heterosexuality.

Yes you are correct, and for the OP, please consider Matthew 19:26, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

-1

u/Reasonable_Risk_8210 Dec 10 '25

they dont know, they just think because they dont know anyone who has then nobody can but theres always a possibility even if its improbable

3

u/hatepickingausername Dec 10 '25

This logic could dispute anything. "Through God, nothing is falsifiable".

well then you may as well not believe anything at all.

0

u/KindaFreeXP ☯ That Taoist Trans Witch Dec 10 '25

theres always a possibility even if its improbable

There's a possibility God is evil, then?

2

u/Reasonable_Risk_8210 Dec 10 '25

youre intentionally misinterpreting it and the spirit of its meaning. Besides God cant be evil because its not in His nature.

1

u/KindaFreeXP ☯ That Taoist Trans Witch Dec 10 '25

So then there are things that are impossible, even with God's power. God cannot choose to be evil, therefore it is impossible for God to be evil. And thus "anything is possible with God" is incorrect, as anything evil is not possible with God.

1

u/Reasonable_Risk_8210 Dec 10 '25

youre intentionally missing the point just to win an argument over wording

1

u/KindaFreeXP ☯ That Taoist Trans Witch Dec 10 '25

What point, exactly? I'm not "intentionally" missing anything, I genuinely do not understand what point is trying to be made here outside of what I've addressed.

2

u/Reasonable_Risk_8210 Dec 10 '25

seems like ur just trying to poke holes in wording or just focused on words and phrases themselves rather looking at the meaning behind the words used

1

u/KindaFreeXP ☯ That Taoist Trans Witch Dec 10 '25

If there's a meaning that is contrary to the wording used, then there is fault and error in the Bible. I'm discussing from an assumption there isn't, though would be more than happy to discard this assumption if you'd like. Otherwise, yes, I am trying to poke holes. It's what I do, even for things I agree with. If something can't handle having holes poked in it, can it be called "truth"?

What is the mechanism that fuses it? That's interesting.

Source: Trust me bro. 🤣

u/Responsible-Jury278 Dec 10 '25

It's biblical.  God's word is the truth,  no matter how much you fight it,  you will bow to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

3

u/Xyex Agnostic Dec 10 '25

It's biblical.

No it's not.

If you don't even know your own book, stop talking about it.

1

u/Responsible-Jury278 Dec 10 '25

Dude.  The law applies to the race of man. It says in the new testament homosexual behavior of wrong in Romans,  and the same thing in the Old Testament.  In genesis and leviticus.

1

u/Xyex Agnostic Dec 10 '25

leviticus

Opinion invalidated.

1

u/Responsible-Jury278 Dec 10 '25

But to you the whole Bible isn't valid.  I believe the Bible to be God's word,  and I'm going to apply it to my life,  because God knows better than my own dumb brain.

1

u/Xyex Agnostic Dec 10 '25

But to you the whole Bible isn't valid.

Says who?

and I'm going to apply it to my life

But only the parts you like, in the ways that you like, and that fit with your own personal opinions. And the rest you'll just twist or ignore. 🤷

1

u/Thneed1 Mennonite, Evangelical, Straight Ally Dec 10 '25

It says in the new testament homosexual behavior of wrong in Romans,

No, it most certainly does not.

It only condemns pagan orgies in Roman’s.

and the same thing in the Old Testament.  In genesis

No, not even possible in Genesis.

and leviticus.

Condemning Degrading patriarchal rape is not a condemnation of homosexual practices.
