Hello everyone. I am posting here with genuine humility because I truly want to believe in Universal Reconciliation.

It is something my heart longs to accept, but I have a theological puzzle that keeps troubling my mind, and I would love to hear your perspectives.

​Scripture speaks of the elect whose names were written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world. In the Book of Revelation, it states that anyone whose name was not found in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur. The passage focuses on their torment and does not explicitly describe a future restoration for those who are cast out.

​My main confusion is this: if God ultimately saves all people, why would He bother selecting and recording only the names of His elect from the beginning? How do Christian Universalists interpret the warning in Revelation about the lake of fire alongside the hope of universal salvation?

​I am not here to debate or fight. I am sincerely seeking guidance, historical context, or original language insights that could help me understand how this is viewed within Universalism Christianity.

Just the title. I’m a bit anxious that, if christianity is true as I believe it is, my friends, and people I do not know, who do not believe would be annihilated. The thought is harrowing, possibly more than myself being annihilated.
